Kept receiving emails from Hardingstone; I replied three times as I have several jobs to do but received no response. On separate occasion I received a text from Hunsbury; took a few days for me to reply as I had misplaced my 'phone and the battery had died: responded to the text as soon as I found my 'phone explaining what had happened but never heard back. Can not recommend highly enough. Had a lot of work that needed doing. Floors ripped up, all painting in living room and halls and stairs, new handles, smoke alarms etc and other bits here and there. Leigh was fantastic. Listened to everything we had to say and had requested and sent a fully comprehensive quote which was amazingly detailed. Spike and Mike were the lads who carried out all the work and they were fantastic lads, proper grafters. Showed them where the fridge and kettle was and left them to crack on with it.Trusted the boys very much, th had a key to the house and could come and go as they needed to so we didn’t need to stay in the house all the time.Leigh was very very professional as were Mike & Spike. Communication was fantastic. There were a few problems with the walls and the lads sorted it all out no problem. Would definitely use again without hesitation and cannot thank Leigh enough. I wanted to turn a bedroom into a dressing room, a friend recommend Tony. I called him we book a slot he arrived on time we went through my options, I decided on Ikea and and wanted Tony to make all the floor to ceiling units and fit them. All units were attached to the walls, he was really great when fitting shelfs drawers etc, while I decided where I wanted everything to go, even though I did change my mind a couple of times. I was looking for someone to fix my garden fence as it had blown over due to the strong winds. I had 3 quotes and by far Leigh’s quote was the most competitive so we hired him straightaway. He came to give a quote on the Thursday evening and he was fixing the fence by Wednesday.He arrived earlier than stated so that was a plus and he was done after a couple of hours. After moving into a new home and both of us being totally useless at DIY - we thankfully found Paul (HireAHubby Newington). Paul has now done lots of tasks in our home, from installing all the light fittings (including my ‘intricate’ ones), hung mirrors, blinds, cabinets, tv brackets and all our curtain poles and tie backs. He also ran power to our shed, installed a socket in our bedroom and partially boarded out the garage eaves for storage. We have hired Stephen on numerous occasions now for various jobs both inside and out, including; laying decking, hanging photographs, painting and decorating. Each time Stephen over-delivers and exceeds our expectations. He often fixes minor issues outside of his contracted tasks, such as fixing a wobbly toilet seat or replacing screws to make a towel rail more secure. They came, they saw, they conquered my back garden! Leigh and his team were professional, reliable and friendly. They worked extremely hard in both heat and rain and transformed my back garden from an overgrown, bramble infested space to a lovely weed free garden with several raised beds. They reclaimed my patio from the (out of control) pampas grass and I now have somewhere to sit and admire their handy work. Paul Davies Hire A Hubby St Neots.Paul has just finished installing brand new bathroom at our home.I had put the job out to tender,Paul came out initially to fix a problem with bathroom door,the very same day I rang into "Hire a hubby" A speedy response,I was quite surprised. I mentioned we were waiting for quotes coming in for bathroom installation.Paul told me he also did plumbing etc,so asked him to submit quote.His quote came back the next day before the other companies,by the time they responded he was already installed on the premises tearing out every inch of the old bathroom.New bathroom installed within eight days and that is allowing for complete new under flooring,and wooden top flooring.Nothing was too much trouble,always showed up on time,no long tea breaks or long chats on personal phone.He and his apprentice worked diligently to finish the project on time.The duo have been asked back to carry out other projects in the home.Trustworthy and friendly which is something quite rare in this day and age.Highly recommend his work,I have had a lot of dealings with builders none ever clean up as well as this team do. Peter did an excellent job for me. I had several jobs that needed doing requiring a number of different skills. A room in my house required a dividing wall removing the ceiling securing and the whole room redecorating. Peter helped by a colleague Ian did the job professionally and efficiently.
