What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
A good eye for reading light and creating composition.
Good rapport with the subject - putting the subject at ease and creating a bond of trust is essential to getting good portraiture
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I want to get a sense of their vision - what they are hoping for; what they like; what they are inspired by. Through that we can build a shared understanding of the project and of the possibilities.
What do you love most about your job?
The creativity; the joy of creating images people love. And the variety.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Initially I recognised that a lot of LGBT couples were having very negative reactions from vendors when they were planning their wedding. Initially, I wanted to fill that niche by offering a tailored service for LGBT couples who could be confident that I would be approaching the work with a really positive mindset and understanding of how the dynamics of an LGBT couple is different to other weddings. Over time more heterosexual couples have asked my to shoot their weddings as they respect the quality of my work so I've broadened my buisness focus.

Quality. If they appreciate quality and someone who will care about them and care about delivering a set of images they will love then I'm the one to ask. I want to work with clients who appreciate the difference between shoot-and-burn photographers and professionals who deliver carefully crafted images.
