I can’t say enough good things about Damon! He is 100% plus some of what we expected out of a dog trainer. Not only does he get dogs to do the impossible, he keeps the pup’s family in the loop the whole entire time!

I took my 3 dogs Kona, Remi, and Diesel to Damon and he has seriously changed their lives along with my families lives for the better. Before attending Good Citizen K-9 my dogs were all over the place, jumping on everything and everyone, not listening, couldn’t take them on walks, etc. Damon literally changed all that. My dogs are so much calmer, we are able to take them on walks, and they respond to commands a million times better. In no way are there enough words to tell people how amazing this man is at what he does. His love and commitment for your dogs is also what I find extremely important and he takes care of your dogs as if it’s his own. We were constantly updated with photos of there progress. I scheduled a two hour one on one session with Damon as I needed some quick help with my newly adopted 14week old puppy. He took the time to educate me on the hierarchy of the house through the eyes of my dog, what my dog really needs from me, and how to put her on a schedule. He then showed me how to begin training to break the puppy habits of biting and jumping. She was eager to learn and responded to him so quickly I was amazed. A neighbor told me about Damon and his business after my pit bull, Diego, bit my husband. I was in a very difficult place and Damon helped tremendously. He took Diego and put him in his 4 week doggy boot camp. Before learning about Good Citizen K9, I interviewed several other local training companies. None of them felt right. I was immediately at ease when I spoke with Damon over the phone about Diego and his issues. Although his company was the furthest away from home, I knew 100% I wanted to take him there!I am SO GLAD I did!!!!Throughout Diego’s boot camp, I was educated, experienced professionalism, kindness, and genuine care for my boy. Damon is amazing and knows how to train dogs-he is highly educated on their psychology and behavior!!! We took our 16 week old Berniedoodle to him and she returned a different dog. She was nipping and hyper before and returned much more calm and well mannered. Damon laid the foundation for training in the two week bootcamp and we enjoy continuing training with her. Damon did an excellent job with both our puppies: an Australian Shepherd and Choclate Lab, both 8 months old. He put them on a schedule, taught them to follow directions, and introduced them to good behaviors in public and rural settings. When we left them at boot camp, both puppies were unruly with scattered energy. Damon trained them to watch his eye contact and voice commands. He also added agility course training to engage both puppies in climbing and jumping. They loved the agility course.All this and he trained my husband and I how to reinforce their training by using good body language and commands. I love that the owner/trainer has a degree in psychology. Found out it was me doing most things wrong! After having three dogs being taught by him I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else to have any future dogs trained! Definitely worth the money!

Just got our pup Max home yesterday from his 4 week training at Good Citizen K9 and he is so well behaved and is having a great time being back home. I had first started working with Damon shortly after adopting my pit bull Ruby. She needed to learn some manners and how to properly walk on a leash. We also worked with my older pit Gerty and soon realized she was the one who needed better manners. She is 11 years old and very reactive to other dogs, bikes, motorcycles and lawnmowers. Damon was great for not only teaching me how to correct unwanted behavior but always reminding me how it’s being perceived from a dogs point of view. That was very important in learning to communicate with my dogs. It has helped me become the Alpha in my household and my 5 year old daughter can Walk Ruby with ease. Within a few week of practice I could place both of my dogs in a down position on the curb, walk across the street and they would wait for me to come back. I’m amazed at far they have come and how well behaved my dogs are. Damon has even helped me beyond our training sessions. One day, out of the blue, A fight breaks out and although I broke it up and no one was hurt, I absolutely can not have that behavior in my house. Well of course, I text Damon and he immediately called me back. He guided me on what to do and how to handle the situation and it’s been a year and a half since that happened and it hasn’t happened since. Please do yourself a big favor and invest in your dogs training . It is so worth it . Damon is an amazing Trainer and has made a huge difference in our lives. Damon trained one of my favorite dogs in the whole world. Upon first glance, his appearance and bark can be intimidating, but once introduced he is the friendliest dog. He will let you pet him for hours. He is sweet, protective, obedient, and responds to every command. What is most surprising about this lovable dog is that he is trained in search and rescue. Our trainer Damon was phenomenal! He explained my dog's psychology and thought process to me, before we even began the first training session, which helped me to understand more clearly. He was extremely knowledgeable, was very efficient, produced fast results, and used very humane methods such as a reward system. No punishment was ever involved! I only had to use him for a handful of training sessions because the cornerstone foundation training he laid was so strong, it actually enabled me to further train my dog on my own using the same principles he instilled. I do not know of anyone who has more experience training golden doodles in Tennessee than Damon. While our trainer was too humble to boast, I have subsequently heard via other professionals in the canine community, that our trainer has been personally contracted by numerous law enforcement agencies, country music stars, and professional athletes in the past, for their training needs.
