Past experience with Goldstar has been good, but they have introduced a pre-pay system that they do not understand. They cancelled my taxi at the last minute, risking me missing my international flight because they say their system had not received payment even though my bank statement says a payment was taken and later returned. They even say teir system cannot tell them what time I paid and when it was returned. My advise is avoid untill they sort out their pre-payent IT More...

We have just phoned the office to pre book a taxi for 5am on Saturday 27th August. The lady who replied to us was very rude and told us we couldn’t book it until 6pm on Saturday!
I think booking a taxi 13 hours after you need it is a little stupid. Very rude woman would not let my husband explain and she hung up. Tried to call again four times and our call was not picked up.
Such a shame, we have used this taxi company for years. Won’t bother again

I give my experience 0 ratings. Me and my mum were just moving our things out of university. I had to deal with a very uncomfortable experience of the driver. We had stopped outside of an atm for my mum to get some cash to and the driver persistently asking for my number to meet up with me in private and over the weekend. He had just been talking about his wife and just acting like a creep to me. I have used "Gold star" for many years. I have found them to be the very best taxi service. When my wife was terminal ill; they were superb at getting her to &from hospital for treatments & the drivers were always patient, helpful & many, showed a genuine interest & concern for her. Since she died; I have used them for various occasions &, they go out of their way to accommodate me;quite often when fully booked, they will divert a taxi to help me as they reward loyalty. People on the phones are lovely as usually but todays driver was driving a bit too fast - 40mph in 30mph roads. He almost missed 2 turnings and had to turn around as he went too fast past my stop. I was flying about the back seat. Other than that driver was fine. More...

I would like to say that the controller Karl, is very friendly and efficient in his job, as I’m a regular, it’s nice not having to say where and what time I need the taxi as he remembers the details. First time I’ve used this company and won’t be the last. Nice people to book with, actually sounded as if they were pleased to have your custom. Kept us up to date with messages, and there on time to pick us up from last train from London. Smooth ride home, cab clean and didn’t smell of cigarettes, big plus for me, and nice driver. Used twice for trips to the airport, both times they turned up on time, the driver was polite, clean cab, and nice and friendly. The only reason I put 4 stars was one driver charged £18, and the only £15, for the same trip, a week apart. So someone's either charging to much or not charging enough. More...

We used this taxi firm from Stansted Airport to Norwich last month. Booked and paid over the phone 3 days before. Received a phone call from the driver as we were on our way to collect our luggage to say he was there waiting for us, unfortunately we had to wait 40 minutes for our luggage, the driver kept in touch with us and waited no problem.
