I've loved my experiences at Body and Brain in Glen Ellyn. I started with the Tai Chi class, the Core Strengthening and the Body and Brain Yoga classes and they're all great! The mix of stretching and meditation with the breathing exercises has really help me reduce and manage my stress and anxiety. It gives me a deeper sense of mind and body connection, which has inspired me to participate in the workshops and to become an Instructor. I began taking classes at Body and Brain in Glen Ellyn to learn about Tai Chi, but I have learned so much more. Body and Brain not only helps with stretching and flexibility, but the classes address all aspects of one's life: physical, mental, and spiritual. The goal is to help you tune out the "noise" around you and to get in touch with your inner self.There are several classes but one thing they all have in common is a type of meditation through movement. I leave each class feeling refreshed and calm. I am able to let go of the stresses of the day. Classes are offered in the morning and the evening. Whichever ones you take, it's a great way to begin the day or a great way to end the day.The manager and teacher, Salvatore, is very knowledgeable, positive, and welcoming. I first went to Body & Brain in March of 2019 and have been steadily going ever since. I have attended several classes and workshops and noticed significant changes in my overall spiritual, mental and physical conditions. Stop what you are doing and schedule a time to visit Body & Brain, Glen Ellyn. You will never be the same. Body, mind and spirit will be elevated. This is lots more than some yoga poses. Each class helps me to let go of stresses, physically and mentally and to open up - physically with warm up & stretches and spiritually through breathing & meditation. Come in stressed or tight, let go, get centered, stretch, realize your energy and strength and melt into the floor by the end. A lot of transformation & benefit in an hour. I leave a healthier person in mind, body & spirit. I started with an introductory session for my mom(80yrs) to get her breathing and address lymphatic health issues. She has been through lots but doesn’t skip her 2x/week sessions in the mornings. I have benefitted physically by rounding out my running habit with stretching, strengthening, opening, & breathing - Master Salvatore always finds ways we can challenge ourselves physically and spiritually. I can lose myself with the stresses of the day and week. Body and Brain classes, and practices I take from them, help me be more present and grounded and honest with myself and others to be the person I want to be and become my best true self. Not quite 2 years ago, I stopped in at the Glen Ellyn Body and Brain Center looking for a place to work out and regain my physical strength and stamina, from which I'd been sidetracked for a few years. I signed up for a one-on-one introductory session with Salvatore - a very patient instructor! Since then, I became a member and attend classes regularly. Quite simply, my life has changed. Not only is my physical condition better than ever, but I have gained so much more than that. I have an awareness about my inner self that I have never before experienced. Classes include stretches, waking up the body, some yoga, core strengthening, tai chi, and always meditation. The instructors are amazing, knowledgeable, encouraging, helping each person to move along at their own pace. The Body and Brain experience continues to give me strength, peace and fulfillment in my everyday life. I highly recommend to anyone, any age. More...

Practicing here has been an absolute gift and a treasure. Salvatore, the center manager has provided my path with so much clarity and healing, I am so grateful for his presence and wisdom at the center! Before practicing here, I struggled daily with anxiety, fatigue, migraines/head aches, poor digestion, all kinds of other issues. Like needing 10-12 hours of sleep (minimum) and I was still exhausted all the time. Having the energy to go to school (half time) and work (part time) was grueling, and because my energy levels were so low I rarely made time to socialize outside of work/school. When I did, I was usually too anxious to enjoy myself. Getting good grades in school were a Herculean task that I pushed myself to post finals immobility to achieve, my focus and memory were borderline non existence. I barely had the energy to get to class, let alone study when I got home and retain information. Having dyslexia, ADHD and being on the spectrum - my studies were already a struggle. Since starting to practice here (4 times per week) my anxiety is now gone, I sleep 6-8 hours a day and feel great, I have the energy to work more hours and have since increased my school schedule from half time status to full time status. No more migraines, my digestion has improved (which has eliminated many food allergies and emlimonated my fatigue! My dyslexia is less severe, my ADHD is under control with no medication and the gifts my autism have blessed me with have been channeled into healing myself and other. Before, I was just trying to brace myself for each day. After starting my practice here, I am now embracing my gifts and creating a better life for myself and for those around me. I feel happy, healthy and confident with who I am and my beautiful existence here on earth.I am so grateful and thankful for the abundance of opportunities for self mastery this center, the surrounding sister centers, and their center managers have provided me. I hop this review will sway you enough to come in and give it a try. I felt so anxious my first few times coming because I felt like I knew nothing and would stick out like an intruder. Glen Ellyn Body & Brain is fulfilling my needs for energizing exercise in a friendly atmosphere. I have been attending the tai chi classes twice a week for a few months now, and the stiffness in my joints has improved. I feel stronger and more flexible. After a period of warmup exercises, the class performs the more meditative tai chi movements, utilizing the energy around us that we are learning to perceive. I look forward to learning more about this practice. More...

Never in my life have I been so impressed by the power of yoga, meditation, and relaxation! Before discovering Body and Brain, I harbored a tremendous amount of stress-induced anxiety. The trainers here have helped me realize that stress is nothing more than energy and that I am in complete control of it. Master Julia's positive energy is absolutely contagious! I'm a long time member of Dahn Yoga, now called Body and Brain Yoga. I came to Dahn Yoga, at first, to maintain my physical health. The exercises, stretching, and even cardio training have greatly improved my balance, joint health, and muscle tone. But I have also benefited from the linking of physical health to mental and spiritual peace. Meditation, relaxation, and emptying the mind of oppressive thoughts have all helped me to reduce stress and create a strong sense of well-being. Ultimately the new name of this organization succinctly captures its method and value: through overcoming physical challenges we can learn to overcome the mental and spiritual fatigue and defeat we can feel in our lives. This practice offers many opportunities for improvement and advancement of our minds and bodies. The masters are welcoming, positive, and well-informed. I went to the studio with a major back ache. Cristina performed a healing session that helped me release a lot of tension. After the session I felt very relieved and equipped with a positive mindset. I am also thankful for the homework she gave me and I hope that it will help the healing process.Two days after the healing session, I joined the Tai-chi class, where I had the chance to really listen to my body as energy was flowing through. In October 2013, I finally had some time to fit in an exercise program. I was not sure the direction I wanted to take. I saw the sign outside the Glen Ellyn Dahn yoga store that just opened up. They offered a 10 ticket purchase so I could go 10 times and decide if this was right for me. Something told me I needed to at least check this out. I did. It has been a remarkable journey. From not exercising at all for several years, I now exercise at least four times per week and then alone at home when I have a few moments here and there. I love the diversity of the exercises, the intelligence behind how those exercises help the body in so many ways: neck rotations, shoulder rotations, hip rotations, knee and ankle rotations, in all kinds of variations, while listening to the best music you could ask for. Then there is stretching, bending, twisting, jumping, you name it. I love starting from standing, going to sitting exercises and then the Ahha moment when we get to rest for a little while and feel the oxygen flying through our veins. Who needs drugs when we lie down at the end, taking in all that pure oxygen and feeling our body relax and calm down to almost wanting to sleep. Taichi on Thursdays is my favorite, with those calming slow motion movements that bring utter peace over my body. How much the world needs Taichi and doesn’t know it. I love the slow walking that we do on Thursdays during Taichi. It is like walking on the moon making it a remarkable experience I never thought would be so important for my body. I now do it in my house for a few minutes here and there. I taught it to some of my piano students. I love the vibrational energy classes on Friday, where we are given time to respond to the music and let our body dance as it wishes. 20 minutes of our own dance improvisations to the music we hear. The plate exercise is truly remarkable also. We draw in the air the number 8 or infinity while the body works its way around the hand motions, bending and twisting, to the spine’s delight. Oh, how much the spine loves Dahn Yoga. So do I. I have been transformed and I can’t wait to educate others on this lovely and whole some world of exercise exploration that balances our meridians, organs, systems, soul and spirit. If physical therapist would just use a fraction of the exercises offeredin Dahn Yoga, they would see miracles happen with their patients. My stress levels have decreased significantly and I've only been here since May 2014. I'm happier. Dahn Yoga says it is the "art of being limitless." In the nine months I have trained at this center, I am stronger, balance is better and flexibility is way way better than most men of my age. Last month, Master Christina gave me exercises for double sciatica. It went away. This month she gave me exercises for an arthritic hip. The pain is almost gone. Dump the docs. Just earlier this year, I started learning and practicing the ways of Body&Brain yoga at the Glen Ellyn center. What I love about the teaching and the exercises is that they are universal. Anyone, no matter what problems you are facing in your everyday life: mental, emotional, physical, etc. can find a way to reconnect to your true energy source from within to recreate your life by uniting your mind, body, and soul. SO, it's not just some yoga class where you learn poses and breathing exercises. Through my experiences so far, I have been having a lot of fun and learning practical steps to reconnect with, empower, and nurture myself wholly. Totally recommend this center in particular. I began my experience 12 months ago. I was looking for a place to learn to meditate. I found that instruction and a great deal more. For the first time in my life I can manage the stress in my life. I have come to know my true self and what I want from life. I am working on my physical body. This is the most challenging part of what I am learning. I have lost 30 pounds and gained a great deal more poise and physical condition. I am no longer taking medication for depression and anxiety, after ten years of treatment. My experience with Dahn Yoga, which is my first experience ever with yoga began 8 months ago when I stopped by at newly open center in Glen Ellyn, IL. I did not know anything about this type of exercise, but after taking a few classes I knew that it is definitely something I want to proceed. I am coming 2-3 times a week and I love it. Since I started till now I have changed, I am a new person: my pains and discomforts are almost gone, I significantly decreased intake of various medications or eliminated some at all (of course with doctor's approval), I have energy lasting whole day and enthusiasm for life. In addition I lost some weight. All of this because of the stretching, relaxation and meditation that each class provides.I feel physically more flexible, emotionally balanced and spiritually lifted. I feel rejuvenated, free and complete. The world and circumstances around me did not change, but I changed my response to life challenges. I think I like myself and everybody else more than before.Starting Dahn Yoga classes is one of the best decisions I have made in my life and it is life changing for much better that was before. I've been taking the Dahn Yoga style for about 3 months now, I switch inbetween the Mount Prospect location and the Glen Ellyn location, because of my work. Thus being said, I drive a lot, and the only thing that has been really helping my back and legs from getting too restless and painful are the exercises we do in the class. Master Hope has been such a real blessing for me, she really takes care of me when I come to the Glen Ellyn location, and I can't appreciate her enough for her guidance in helping me with my circulation problems. For anyone who thinks they have limits and "can't do yoga", re-evaluate yourself and think again. This yoga is for everyone! More...

The Dahn Yoga practice has given me a new perspective on life and a larger awareness to how much power we all have! And more importantly the way to harness this power for our own growth and progress. Through the training I’ve experienced energy in a way I never ever had before. I’ve become more awake and eager to live life to its fullest with confidence and charisma. Less worrying and doubts and fears. I feel brighter, more balanced, and more comfortable with myself and the world around me. My mind flows clearer and I feel more grounded. Less stress and last minute rushes and better management. I’ve had more control in handling emotions and tackling obstacles. Through my body’s movement and practice it has sparked a new, truer sense of trust in myself and has motivated me pursue bigger dreams and push aside unhealthy habits. I’ve experienced a more dynamic me. Moving away from how tethered we can become to unproductive thoughts and mindsets and how to relinquish past habits. It’s given me a sense of freedom and power of change. I’ve become more flexible and stronger by being pushed through new strengths and endurances both in physical and mental ways. Dahn center is a holistic healing place which helps to relieve not only daily stress but also help to achieve healthy body by removing blockages which has accumulated over the years. Westmont center had been offering their services for about 13 years and I have been a memeber for 6 years. The center offers are three different types of classes in addition to special workshops. I have enjoyed and benefitted from each and every program. The Masters are very well trained and offer to help you to achieve your goals.Daily classes are for about an hour and offered twice daily. The programs goal is achieve stronger mind and body connection through meridian stretches and meditation. It helps with better concentration and an increased sense of wellbeing. More...
