Ginger Snaps Photography

GingerSnaps wedding photography was absolutely brilliant. Dan is a very professional and candid photographer and took hundreds of outstanding (and flattering) photos of our wedding in Zambia. We have been blown away by the photos he managed to get (without anyone realising, #gingerninja) and capturing true emotion on film from me, my wife and all of our family and friends.Dan demonstrated his adaptability, humour and confidence throughout the wedding and was a calming voice and guide throughout the day. We cannot praise Dan enough; not only did he take outstanding photos; he was able to demonstrate organisation (of guests and bridesmaids), work with the other professionals in synchrony and act as an emergency seamstress! (10/10 for bow tying and veil fitting). Dan was able to remove stress and help to make the day a perfect.We are not surprised he is often booked up; and we would strongly recommend that you book ahead and chose Dan #Gingersnaps to be part of your day and capture moments you had no idea were happening.We have had experience of other “professional” photographers before but after Dan #gingersnaps it was clear that he was a league apart. The number of wedding guests approaching us and complimenting us on or photographer was crazy! Ill be honest, when my wife first suggested Dan for our wedding, and I saw the price to hire him, I was really hesitant. But now, after our big day, he was well worth the price and more.Really friendly, guides everyone with taking pictures really easily, and on top of that, he even helped the girls out with getting ready in the morning XD.And after seeing the pictures, my god, was I stupid to think we were paying him too much, we were paying him to little XD.So Dan, I apologize for ever doubting you, the pictures you took where way more better then I ever thought they could be. I can't suggest this man any more with words. Please dont think like the old me and go with a cheap photographer and thinking your getting a discount, your not, your making a mistake.If I have friends who need a photographer, im going to immediately point them to Dan and not take no for Answer. Dan and I first met a few years ago through work as photographer and makeup artist and when I got engaged last year I knew I needed Dan to do the photography for our wedding! He has an amazing style of shooting and we are so so happy with how all the images turned out. Dan is confident enough to direct people to get the best shot for more formal images but then captures beautiful candid moments too. He has a great eye for choosing locations to shoot the best image possible. We chose to have a second shooter which I think is well worth it as you get to see both bride and groom getting ready and the build up and then different images from different angles to choose from from throughout the day. The one thing me and my now husband Darren wanted to make sure we got exactly right for our big day...was to make sure we choose the perfect person/people to shoot our photos. And oh my goodness! I can't tell you how amazing Dan's work is! From the first moment we met with him I just knew this was our guy! He is so funny yet so professional! He is such a lovely and helpful guy, he will do just about anything for you and to make sure your day is absolutely perfect! We also had Dans colleague Aaron who was just as amazing! They really know how to keep you so calm and make it so easy!

This guy’s work is phenomenal, me and my wife booked him for our wedding at The Deep and was worried what some shots may come out like because there’s limited light and you cannot use flash. We have to say they are the most stunning pictures we’ve ever seen we can’t stop looking at them and the quality of them is insane! They are easily the best pictures to be shot at The Deep...ever!!

Dan was super friendly from the minute we met him and brilliant throughout our wedding day, it was as if he was there as our friend! We knew we was making the right choice after looking at some of his work but when we received our pictures we was truly blown away! His ideas for shots are incredible we couldn’t believe some of them that he come up with they are so creative!

If you haven’t decided on a photographer yet Dan is your man!!!

We booked Dan over 2 years in advance and from day one we knew we had booked the right person! His laid back approach was exactly what we were looking for! In a flash the wedding came around and he turned up looking dapper, and was so relaxed chatting to everyone while he was working we didn’t really notice he was taking photos! We got our photos back within 3 days and were absolutely blown away they are beautiful! We knew we wanted Dan to take our wedding photos as soon as we started looking to book the wedding! His relaxed style of photos really appealed to us and seeing his photos online made the decision even easier!

We love how he made people feel really comfortable and didn't do the posy photos which are forced, instead he has taken the most amazing, relaxed and natural photos.

Dan fitted in like a guest at the wedding and even joined the guys for a game of football whilst having a laugh with everyone on the day!

As soon as we got engaged, we knew who we wanted to be our wedding photographer from seeing his amazing pictures on Facebook . Once we booked our venue, we contacted Dan and once we had met him we knew he was definitely the one we had to have to capture our special day.

From the lead up, to the special day itself, Dan was amazing. He put us both and our family and friends at ease and helped calm nerves. Dans fun but organised manner meant all special moments ranging from the traditional to artistic were captured from start to finish, perfectly. We were also very lucky to have Sarah Beth working with Dan which meant all morning preparations from both me and James were captured and dual aspects of the ceremony were too. Like Dan, Sarah was relaxed, professional and fun and made the perfect team.

Two days after the wedding, we were very excited and so happy by the pictures he put on Facebook. Two days after that, we received all of our photos (all 840 in colour and black and white) and we were completely blown away and overwhelmed by how beautiful and perfect they were.

We could not have asked anymore from Dan and anyone wanting an extremely fun, relaxed and professional photographer I would not choose anyone else but Dan.

Absolutely Amazing. If there is a photographer to book for your wedding- Dan has to be your first and only choice. His knowledge, approach and true professionalism shines through and puts you at ease about the day from the very first meeting. We joked that he should be a wedding planner , as he knows so much about how to get the very best from your day. He even saved us from a mini crisis when our classic car broke down, ensuring we got to the venue on time whilst listening to awesome 80’s tunes on the way- for which we cannot thank him enough.

Dan (and Dan’s) approach to the day relaxed everyone and made the whole day truly enjoyable

The photos are Excellent- and the video.... just wow. Comments have been made to us that it should be a TV advert and It has brought people who have seen it to tears (of happiness!) . I fully recommend anyone who books dan to get the videography bolt on- it’s a must.

Booking the right photographer was one of the most important parts of planning our wedding. I've followed Dan's work for ages and when me and my husband got engaged, he was the only photographer I was interested in booking. Luckily, we snatched him up and we're over the moon with the whole experience.

He was calm yet hilarious. He had everyone smiling. He caught some beautiful candid moments that I missed myself. He was firm during family photographs and ensured nobody was bored. He captured the details perfectly. He made sure we got those 'hipster' shots that made me begin following his work in the first place. He was everything and more that we wanted in a wedding photographer.

When we first booked our wedding we booked consultations with a number of local photographers. Dan was the first one we met & straight after meeting him we cancelled the rest! He is an amazing photographer who instantly puts people at ease around a camera, even when they don’t like having their picture taken which was a massive concern for us.

On the big day he just got stuck in, even with the things you wouldn’t expect such as helping bridesmaids do up their shoes and helping pin button holes etc. We have had so many people ask whether we were friends with Dan prior to our wedding because of the way he fit in with everyone, having a laugh & even helping one of our guests who is a young budding photographer learn how to use his camera & take a couple of candid photos of his own.

We received the link to our photos today & they’ve exceeded all our expectations & more! They captured moments we had missed on the day & I can’t wait to share them with our friends & family. As Dan's girlfriend, I get to see the behind the scenes of the business and I have never seen anyone as dedicated or passionate about the work he does or the people he works with. Dan is an exceptionally talented and enthusiastic photographer, who never leaves a job until he has nailed those once in a lifetime shots. As someone who hates seeing myself in photographs Dan always manages to make me feel beautiful and comfortable and the same has been said by wedding parties and guests again and again. If you are looking for someone to capture your big day I couldn't recommend someone more highly. I’ve been thinking about how to write a review for Dan, but it’s actually really hard to put into words how much he does at your wedding, whether it’s taking out your veil because it’s driving you mad, encouraging your family members who “don’t do photos” to have pictures and simply capturing the most special moments throughout the day.

Dan (and Dan) captured our wedding and the photos we’ve received are amazing and it felt like they were taken by friends who’ve been in our lives forever.

We knew that we wanted Dan to photograph our wedding from the moment we met him, he is so well organised but chilled out at the same time and this really carries over to his work. He managed to make myself, my husband and our guests were comfortable and laughing throughout the whole day, which made for some incredible pictures! Dan truly went above and beyond on the day, from helping with decor, doing a last minute run with my mum to the church and all the other little things he helped out with. You barely realised he was taking so many pictures, he felt like another guest! Dan sent us some pictures over the following day which was incredible and then sent over the rest (700!) in both colour and in black and white over dropbox and in memory card form. What an amazing photographer! I chose dan as he's photographed a few of my friends weddings and the pictures was just stunning so I knew I wanted him too! I couldn't of been happier with the pictures we received they are beautiful. He made us feel so relaxed and he's such a genuinely lovely bloke who made us laugh while staying so professional. He even offered one of the bridesmaids a lift as she couldn't find the car she was travelling in. We met Dan whilst he was working on a friends wedding and it took about 5 mins to realise this was the photographer for our wedding!

Everything from planning the day for us in advance, follow up meetings to keep the plans up to date Dan was a delight to work with.

He mingled in and got on with all the guests at our wedding so well you would have thought he was a guest too. The pictures throughout the day are brilliantly captured and some of the ones he took of just the two of us were amazing! The only problem is now trying to narrow down the pictures for the album!

The ONLY wedding photographer we would recommend!! Absolutely first class service and a top guy too.

I wanted to make an extra special effort to review Dan's business. Im a local photographer myself and I find Dan one of the most professional yet fun photographers to work with.

The one thing that makes Dan stand out among the rest is his ability to make you completely relaxed around him. It instantly feels like you have been friends with him for a long time. When I have used him myself as a second shooter he is always highly commended by brides and i find my brides time and time again asking for him to be at their wedding.

You wont be disappointed in using him as your wedding photographer. Hes one of these people I see going big places (he already is!).
