I have a rather beautiful listed Cotswold stone house that has some impressive reception rooms,and requires some impressive vision and creativity. The great shame is that I don't possess those skills! Wanting to inject some modernity into a house that is steeped in tradition & character, I worked with Angie to convey some of the looks and styles that I liked, and then let her imagine and create my interior design scheme for a reception room, a small snug and a contemporary office space. Angie created brilliant moodboards, adjusted to my feedback, then sourced furniture and accessories and led all the paint, fabric and flooring recommendations. And when everything started to come together, she knew just at what position and angle to place the component parts to bring it all together. I have to say I have been the envy of my friends and family since, and I am delighted to have created something fresh and different and completely in line with my ambitions for the space.To boot, Angie was quick, responsive, flexible, hugely creative and good fun too, I would have no trouble in recommending her skills. We were really struggling to find any inspiration whatsoever when looking to decorate the lounge in our new build property as it was such a blank canvass and we didn't want to get rid of our newish sofa and curtains. Angela was immediately able to offer suggestions on not only decor but layout as well. She sourced items and advised us on the best places to go/look via her "Helping Hands" service. We didn’t know what to expect having never used a design service before.
Ange was very helpful to a newbie, guiding me through the process and really getting to grips with what I was aiming for even though it was only vague in my head! The mood board was perfect, we had plenty of contact sourcing the items and actually really enjoyed the whole experience. I’m stunned that the finished room is ours - I could never have had the confidence to do this without her help, and the result surpassed my expectations, in budget too. We had moved into a new build property and completely lost all sense of direction when we realised our old lounge furniture just did not look right. With Angela's help we were able to create a relaxing and comfy lounge, using lovely shades of grey and plum that complemented the existing grey carpet and our antique furniture. Angela also arranged for our antique chair to be recovered in a dazzling fabric which we would never have dared to choose! After completely renovating our house we had an empty shell. Angela came in, gave us some amazing ideas and made it happen. Our kitchen/dining room now is not only stunningly glamorous, but also 'home'. She spent hours of her time searching for the right things, and if anything didn't look quite right, she would say so, and find what we needed. Really delighted with our daughter's new chill out room which looks fab in white, pink, grey and rose gold. Angela has been wonderful, offering creative ideas, sound advice, and on call support. The project was conceived, designed, decorating completed, and new furniture installed, in just under 2 months. We are thrilled with the finished result. It inspired me to decorate a second bedroom along similar lines. Angela really cares about the details and was keen to ensure we were fully on board with all her ideas. Angela was really positive, helpful and professional from my initial enquiry until the completion of the project. The aim was to redesign a spare bedroom and transform it into a chill out room for my 11 year old daughter to use with her friends. We also needed to include a desk for homework, plus a guest bed, all in a relatively small space.After discussing the colours and textures we liked, and agreeing a budget, Angela created a mood board and identified options for furniture and fittings. We chose a new carpet after reviewing samples together and agreed on a colour scheme for re-painting the room.The finished room looks amazing- it has a real wow factor and everyone who has seen it really loves it. My daughter is delighted and loves hanging out there with her friends. It’s also very practical- the day bed / sofa looks great covered in beautiful cushions, and turns into a double bed, with 3 large storage drawers as well. The desk is beautiful and a perfect match for the colour scheme of white, grey, pink and rose gold. The lightning in the room is well planned - a desk lamp, an unusual table lamp with fairy lights, and an overhead feather lampshade, controlled by a dimmer switch. There are lots of quirky features, and fun touches, in keeping with my daughter’s age, but I’m confident she won’t grow out of it too quickly. Some of the choices surprised me, and I took a little convincing, but now the room is finished I can see how well the design works as a whole.
