Generation Studio was designed to give a variety of artists the chance to record ‘radio ready’ songs and to find up and coming talent to expose to the masses. Since opening in April 2016, tracks recorded in the studio have already been played on Radio 1, various BBC Introducing stations as well as BBC Radio 6 and have accumulated over 40 million streams online.

A well presented and well equipped rehearsal space and studio. This is a bit more expensive to hire as a rehearsal space than other surrounding rehearsal rooms but you certainly get what you pay for! Geoff was extremely welcoming and helpful, before we arrived and during the session. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend and I'm tempted to book a recording session here soon. More...

This was my first experience at Generation Studios, having booked a recording session as part of a gift bought for me through Red Letter Days. The owner Geoff made contact with me and was very comprehensive in his explanation of what to expect and how my time at the studio would work, answering all of my questions and putting my mind at ease. Due to unforeseen circumstances I had to cancel my original date that I had booked for my session and Geoff was more then a understanding and accommodating to my needs and I re booked with ease.When I arrived on the day Geoff was there to greet me and introduced to my Dean the engineer. The studio is great and I felt like a real pop star. I would love to play live there in a band. Dean talked me through what I needed to do before putting me through my paces. Once I had recorded the song Dean began editing my recording and producing a CD for me of the recording. Watching him work was very impressive and very insightful. The recording is of a professional standard and my friends and family have been very impressed, not believing that it's me singing, so much so that they are going to book direct with Geoff for a similar experience, much cheaper than going through Red Letter Days. My Son and his friend celebrated his 21st Birthday with a gift day experience yesterday. I can highly commend the expertise and professionalism of Dean and Geoff Nelson. As a songwriter, I usually find it difficult to trust other people in executing my original songs exactly how I envision them. HOWEVER, Dean can somehow read my mind and hit the nail on the head every. single. time. Both he and Geoff make those long - and slightly tedious - recording days incredibly fulfilling. Wow. I don't know where to start. My name is Morgan, I am a singer/songwriter from Brighton. For the past few months, I have been looking for a recording studio to record some songs that I have written. A friend recommended Generation Studio to me as he had previously recorded there and the quality and production of his songs are incredible! I phoned them up and booked in a day recording session. They were so helpful over the phone and answered all the questions I had! On the day I turned up with my band and was met by Dean, he was very welcoming and made myself and my band feel very at home. We managed to record, mix and master my whole song in less than 6 hours. I am so happy that I chose to record at Generation, not only are their prices incredible for the service you get but Dean also really understood the music and direction that I wanted to go in and he really helped me take my song to the next level. I have now recorded twice in this studio and both times have been met with nothing other than complete excellence! Dean and Geoff Nelson have a wealth of knowledge and experience on the workings of the recording studio. They were able to make the recording process smooth and efficient as well as being great people who are very easy to work with.The studio itself is very well equipped with state of the art gear such as the Soundcraft Ghost LE32 Desk and Dynaudio MKii Monitors. As a professional drummer / percussionist, I was also very happy to see how much gear they have in that department including a 7 piece Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute Drum Kit complete with a variety of top of the range Zildjian cymbals (K Customs, A Customs etc.). The drum sounds I was able to create in the live room were exceptional. The options from having a completely dry sound to a naturally reverb-y room sound are all there, which is something I feel really sets this studio apart from other studios I have recorded in.Another factor l love about the studio itself is that it's just such a pleasant place to be. It's spacious, well lit and very easy to load gear in and out of. The value for money the studio offers is also excellent. I have simply never recorded in another studio that has so many bases covered.I honestly couldn't recommend this studio enough and urge anyone looking for a productive, enjoyable, stress-free recording experience to go and check the place out now.
