I honestly cannot thank Gemma enough. The photos she took were so incredible, she is an absolute artist. The photos show the me that I really want people to see and they really show off who I am. She took the time to get to know me and seemed to instantly know what I needed. I was so nervous going in, because obviously it's quite a scary thing! But, she made it so fun and easy and I loved it. Truly lovely session with Gemma, whose warmth and cheerful approach made for a relaxed and easy shoot. Her set-ups are effective, simple and quick - hardly any waiting around. Direction was clear and nicely balanced - great specificity (including some clever, simple physical 'cheats') for what she wanted to achieve with the shot, while still allowing the subject the creative individuality of interpretation, so your personality can really come through while still achieving a good range of looks. I chose to book Gemma after trawling through various headshot photographer websites. The warmth and friendliness of her website immediately stood out and I decided she would be the one to re-take my photos following a career break. Like most actors I was nervous and self-conscious, but as soon as I met Gemma the nerves flew out of the window. She radiates calm and professionalism and you instantly feel at ease. I had a really great session with Gemma. She took the time to listen to my thoughts on what a headshot should do and the types of roles I think I'm right for before taking any shots.
She has some great techniques for shaking the nerves and finding different energies to project through the eyes (that often matched the casting types discussed).
The relaxed environment allowed me to tap into aspects of my personality which can be hard to find in a headshot session.

I had my session with Gemma a few weeks ago and have just received my retouched final images back!
I am absolutely over the moon with my final headshots - it took me a long time to choose as there were so many I adored!
The session was extremely calm and stress free but fun and productive at the same time - I didn’t feel rushed or pressured. Gemma really captured who I am - ME. And that’s the most important thing!
The session was also SO affordable and 10000000000000000% worth every penny!

By far the best headshot session I've ever had! I am normally such an awkward mess in front of the camera but Gemma performs miracles- not only did she make me so comfortable from the moment I entered the room, but she took the most beautiful headshots of me, which I am SO proud of.
Being photographed can be such a personal/ nerve-wracking experience but Gemma has a truly warm and professional approach that just relaxes you, making you feel supported and allowing you to bring your best self to the studio! We had a lovely pre-shoot chat over cups of tea where we discussed the kind roles I want to go for and the direction I want to move my career in.
