Molly with Frizz Studios was such a gift. Her willingness to fulfill what I had envisioned for my parents 50th wedding anniversary went above and beyond. This included a complimentary mini session for my parents to take a photo together, something that rarely happens. We discussed at length the schedule and what photos I had expected as posed in family group combinations as well as photographing the party. We were a pretty large group. She set up each photo very quickly. I am normally the photographer in the family thus I am left out of most all photos. Keeping my siblings in line long enough to get quality family photos is a monumental task and Molly did it with humor and speed keeping everyone happy. Hands down the best family photo we have ever taken! Molly kept in touch with us about the expected date to get our photos back. We will be using Molly again for sure. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
The secret to taking a great photograph -- this is a very broad question!
- Being knowledgeable about the type of job you are doing (knowing client expectations by investigating job needs)
- Connecting with your subject(s) with people or understanding the product(s) and/or brand.
- Making sure you are the right fit (with your style and ability).
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
When starting a new photography project, I ask my clients for all their specific details starting with:
- Date
- Location
- Time needed or Time Frame needed (or I can suggest how long something might take)
- Indoor/outdoor
- Final Image Expectations (this might require them providing examples from Pinterest or their own collection)
- Expectations Overall
- Budget Range
- Have they seen my work and style of photography? Make sure you're a good fit.
What do you love most about your job?
I love being able to provide my creative input, style and artistry in to the work that allows it. With that said, I also love marketing and creating images for marketing or brand identity. This doesn't always allow creativity necessarily, however it does provide the challenge of capturing the story that is needed for that client.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I like working for myself and building what is mine. I enjoy the flexibility to be available for our children, myself, travel and more. With that said, owning your own business almost requires you to "always be available / working" -- I do enjoy the challenge that I can make my business be as successful as I want it to be. Success in in happiness.
Why should our clients choose you?
I am a very laid back, easy going, but super motivated and organized person. I launch into the goal with great ideas and take on client projects with gusto. I bring a creative, 3rd party input in to the vision of the project(s). I love to laugh, I rarely judge and I can get along with almost anyone. I heavily communicate and provide details proposals and project scopes. I have a creative eye, but also listen to the client vision, and deliver just that.
