While visiting friends in Traverse City I was looking for an indoor cycling class and found Fit For You. It was my kind of place, a true workout facility emphasizing working out not being entertained. The indoor cycle class lead by Steve was simple, straight forward and good workout. The gym equipment was extensive and the staff was always present if you have questions. They open at 4:30am which was a plus for an early ride like me. Highly recommend. More...

Went here as a guest for a couple days and love this gym. All their machines were in great condition and had a large selection of treadmills to use. It is truly an amazing gym.

I love fit for you. I’ve been to many gyms over the years but FFY has the best combination of staff, cleanliness, and education.

Our hotel did not have a fitness room, but arranged a free pass to Fit for You. It was a WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. It has virtually all cardio machines including tread mills, elliptical-trainers, stair steppers, and gliders. It has huge free weights area and a large variety of lifting machines. But i the BEST part is the people. I have a trainer at home but look a chance and hired Vern to help me while on vocation. He was extremely knowledgable about anatomy/develpment and proper positions for the best results. He was also knowlegable about eatting to create the best results. At $60/hour, he was worth every penny. I returned from vacation more fit and better trainer to continue. Rick More...

Been going here for about 9 months...hands down best gym I've ever been a member of. Incredible value, they charge way to little for their memberships. The trainers and instructors are knowledgeable, friendly, and will push you to your limits. Support staff is also super friendly and helpful, I'm always greeted by name with a smile. More...

I worked out at Fit For You for a long finally reviewing. Great place to lift and do cardio. Lots of showers and large changing room. Great smoothie bar and trainers are very helpful. Did I mention the smoothie bar is great? Fort Fit next door is great for CrossFit classes as well! More...

Fantastic Experience at Fit For You. Really Like the Facilities. Nicely updated from a few years ago. Staff is super nice and they know their fitness. From Nutrition advice to lifting techniques, they had my back after I had back surgery. I also enjoyed the CrossFit Classes at Fort Fit in the same parking lot. Instructors at both places worked with me after my surgery and helped me modify it so that I could push myself without getting reinjured. Seriously check them out! More...

Fit For You is where I met my husband, Steve. We absolutely love this gym and have so many great memories there. If it was not for this gym, we probably would not have met! When you stop in, you have to get a protein shake, peanut butter, strawberry, banana! Lots of cardio equipment, lots of free weights and the classes are great. More...

Q&As

It all starts with education. Not just educating the client but also educating me and my staff about our client.
If you don't know their back ground then how can you possible help them achieve what they desire.

Nutrition is 80% of this game. First you must know the clients Resting metabolic rate before you can design a nutrition plan that will work for the individual. Second: learn the individuals strengths and weaknesses and then challenge their weaknesses. The first time that a person can overcome a weakness is the beginning of their new life.

The feeling that is acquired when a person overcomes an obstacle. We both feel the same feeling, it is incredible.

Because we care about each and every individual and don't reach for every shiny object.
