Finally tried this place and boy it sure was a great experience.  I went with one of their toasty panini sandwiches, the guy that made it told me he would make something special and I ending up having a spicy chicken sandwich on foccacia bread.  This must have been one of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time. I am not a Mediterranean food connoisseur by all means but this spot definitely gets some extra brownie points!I got the Chicken Shawarma bowl on a bed of half salad/half rice bed with a mix of veggies, hummus, and hot sauce. The standard bowl gives you about five toppings and you can order more for an extra charge. My favorite was probably everything since it just wouldn't be the same if it were to be eaten by itself! The chicken wasn't dry at all and was nicely grilled; whereas the hummus was absolutely fresh! I loved the creaminess texture as well as the subtle flavors that enhanced the chicken. My favorite of this experience was the gentleman who did the seasoning for my bowl at the end. He asked me if I liked spicy and gave me some recommendations on how much seasoning to add, which I'm so grateful it took all the decision-making pressure off of me. Came to Fayala because I kept smelling some amazing food being cooked and I ended up ordering one of their Mediterranean meals. The falafel was fresh and crunchy and the staff let me know it was also gluten free, bonus! The chicken had so much flavor omg I'm a huge fan and it was topped with some delicious crunchy veggies. The food here is absolutely delicious! They offer an abundance of hearty food options as well as vegetarian. I have not come across any other restaurant with as much variety of vegetable and salad options and as unique and tasteful as here. The fish tastes amazing and is fresh, would recommend that fish with pesto sauce on it. My favorite option is the burrata sandwich it has a creamy cheese and is given a generous amount of avocado and care into making it. Would recommend for anyone with a busy lifestyle that wants a wholesome meal that won't weight them down throughout the day. You can definitely see that the ingredients are carefully sourced and above all else are put into authentic recipes that capture the heart of Mediterranean food. This place was great! I went here yesterday for lunch, and the people who worked there were great and enjoyed what they did, and the service was excellent. Great food and service. Original concepts that fit the busy lifestyle of SF and the Soma neighborhood. I highly recommend their the Chapli kabab sandwich, which I learned is the owner's wife homemade recipe. It's a winner! Highly recommended.

Met an old pal here for lunch as it had good vegan options for me! We both got wraps mine vegan, his with chicken. I think we were both satisfied since we were catching up and we still both finished our meals in 10 minutes. The staff seemed a little frazzled over the busy lunch hour, but they pulled through and knocked it out of the park as far as the wrap was concerned. Clean spot and nice looking salad bar too! I keep meaning to make my review. I come here quite often. Not only do I get my lunch here. I order my company's catering from here also! Their food is amazing . The catering menu is very diverse. The staff is so helpful and always very nice. For personal lunch, I always get the hot bar. They also have a section where you can order off of a menu. The fried sea bass is a absolute 10/10. We ordered breakfast and lunch for a meeting at our office. If you want to impress your guests, this is the place to order from. I received a lot of positive remarks on the breakfast burritos and then the sandwiches were a big hit! Not your average downtown lunch sandwiches but with real meats and grilled melty cheeses. A few colleagues and I stopped in for a work lunch meeting and were lucky enough to grab a table upstairs after ordering bowls downstairs. I went with a rice/greens mix with falafel. I sadly forget all of the toppings I ordered, but I was really pleased overall with my bowl! The falafel were perfect and the rice had so much flavor. Sandwich was delicious (burrata sandwich on focaccia)! Service was really exceptional, and also it was so easy to order takeout via Yelp/Grub Hub. I really was so impressed with their service: I overestimated how much time I had during lunch break to walk to Fayala, so I called to ask to pick my sandwich up later. Fayala closing time was earlier than I could get there from work, so the owner easily agreed to let me get my sandwich the next day instead, and he made it fresh to order when I arrived. Excellent!! This was my first time eating here. I also used my Ritual app which makes it easy to order ahead. I had the Spicy Fayala Wrap. This was very tasty and you get that spicy flavor but not overbearing. If you order ahead don't take too long because the tortilla gets a little soft on the underside. I think it's just from the sauces. I like a tortilla firm.
