We had Fran from Evoke Pictures for our wedding in September in Bristol, who was fantastic and put us at ease. They were very accommodating to our price constraints, which was nice. Their relaxed style fitted perfectly with our vision for the wedding, and on the day, the photographer captured everything, whilst never being obtrusive. The photographs we got are beautiful and we'll treasure them forever. They are a lovely mix of colour and black and white. I'd say their greatest strength is catching all the little moments you'll either miss or forget on the big day. Once you've found Evoke pictures you won't need to look at any other options to photograph your special occasion. We used them to photograph our wedding day in Bath in June and from start to finish the service provided has been beyond fantastic. Fran was prompt to respond to an initial enquiry and immediately came across as being warm and friendly as well as professional. The engagement shoot was a great opportunity to meet Fran face to face and any impressions made over the phone were only confirmed. She did a great job at talking us through things and ultimately we left much more relaxed at the thought of being photographed.On the day Fran and Chris came in to their own. They were great to have around and fitted into the day with ease. They were relaxed but could switch into professional mode when the group shots required it! They captured the day perfectly and guests have spoken so highly about the quality of photos. I suspect a lot of work was put into the editing and the results were just beautiful. I have no idea where to begin with my praise of Chris. My fiancée and I flew to England with my best friend and his brother, mainly so that I could propose to her at Stourhead. You can imagine how nervous I was, not only for the proposal but also because I had to hire a photographer from 4,000 miles away. After striking out with several other photographers, I received an email from Chris offering to photograph our engagement. He immediately made me feel comfortable in my decision to choose him and made the entire process extremely simple and stress-free.

On the day of, Chris secretly met up with my best friend and together they literally hiked up a massive hill (which was wet because it was raining) to Apollo's Temple, camera equipment in tow, just to get the perfect shot of the proposal - and boy did he get it. He was such a wonderful sport the entire time, and happily went along with our plans to keep everything a secret. It worked out PERFECTLY.

After the proposal, we had an engagement shoot - and he was an absolute joy to work with. He made us laugh, he made us feel comfortable, and most of all he really made us feel how special and important of a day it was. He chose the best locations for our pictures and we never felt awkward.

Lastly, the actual pictures themselves are SO beautiful. We couldn't be happier with how they came out - Evoke Pictures are truly artists. Everything was edited so amazingly well, and FAST. We had our pictures back sooner than we could have dreamed, and they're really just so incredible.

To finish this off, let me leave you with this: if you're on the fence about choosing Evoke pictures as your photographers, don't bother looking anywhere else. We had an incredible experience, and every moment of our interaction was wonderful. The service was outstanding, the price was wonderful for our budget, and the final product was superb. Thanks so much to Fran and Chris for our absolutely amazing wedding and engagement shoot photos! The whole experience with them has been flawless - they are very professional but at the same time super friendly and fitted in perfectly during our special day. We really loved all the documentary style photos of us and all our guests, but also nice to have a few group photos too. Fran and Chris were recommended to us through friends, Fran and Chris had photographed their wedding and so we had seen some of the results of their amazing photography. As soon as I met Fran over coffee and cake, I knew that Evoke were going to be the kind of people you want with you on the day you get married! So relaxed but reassuring at the same time.

Both Fran and Chris have such calming personalities, that they are great to have around to calm any pre-wedding nerves. They were both great with the guests and caught some great moments on camera that we would have otherwise missed.

The photos that were taken by Fran and Chris at our Wedding at Thornbury Castle last year were sensational. The whole process of working with Evoke was easy and stress-free, great communication beforehand and on the day itself. We didn't want a standard engagement shoot so opted to have some family pictures taken. Chris suggested doing a shoot on the beach and the results were spectacular with some wonderful pictures, particularly of the children, which we will cherish forever.

So many people have commented on our Wedding pictures and how great they look. They really caught the whole ambience and intimacy of the day. We married at Thornbury Castle, near Bristol and had our wedding pictures made by Evoke. They made an incredible job with us. They were not just extremely professional on the whole process (quotation, detail preparations, execution, production, delivery), but also were such great pals with us. Fran and Chris Were so amazing on our wedding day!! So relaxed and professional we can't thank them enough, they were like our guests to our day and made us feel calm and relaxed also . Also we went for some photos on our own before we headed off to the reception to meet our guest and was so much fun !

We got married in symondsbury on the 28th may and from the lead up to the wedding right till after the wedding Fran has been wonderful with ideas of pictures that we wanted, we was very pleased .

They both have a great eye and catch an amazing picture without stress all so natural.

It's so important your wedding pictures as you have them to remind you of your special day for life and when we received our pictures back I was over the moon. So many other captures of the day that I didn't see and you can see the buzzing atmosphere in the pictures everyone looks fabulous! love looking over them it's like re living the moment .

We honestly couldn't have asked for better photographers. Fran and Chris were so welcoming and warm, they slotted right into our wedding party and it felt like they were friends attending! We had a very small wedding, just us & two witnesses but wanted a few photos to remember the occasion. Chris took more than 70 photos both in and around Bristol Registry Office and then at Thornbury Castle where he took some stunning photos including the beautiful classic Jaguar wedding car & our fab four-poster room. Chris photographed our wedding and it would be an understatement to say we were delighted with the results. He spoke to us beforehand about what we were looking for and whether any particular shots were important to us as well. Chris's stunning photographs really captured the feel of our wedding day, from the bride and groom getting ready before the ceremony (I am still not sure how he managed to apparently be in two places at once!) to more formal group photos of our families, and then all of our guests enjoying the reception and ceilidh dancing into the small hours. Great Photographers - Beautiful Photographs
Evoke Pictures photographed our wedding in September and even before we got the final images we were so pleased. From our initial meeting and right up until the day they were always so helpful and on hand to answer questions, which is super helpful when planning a wedding! On they day they were truly professional, very friendly and easy going and put us at ease throughout the day. I felt I was in very safe hands with Fran in the lead up to the ceremony which helped a lot with my nerves! They gave good clear direction and just made it all so easy for us, we didn't have to think about anything apart from having a good time with each other and our guests. They were also happy to oblige any last minute requests for formal shots etc.
The final images themselves are beautiful. Excellent use of light, colour and composition. Looking at the images just makes us relive the day beautifully with such fond memories. I know that we will cherish our wedding photographs for years to come, worth every penny!!! More...

Fran & Rupert did our wedding photos in July (and Fran did an engagement shoot in June).
We both thought Fran & Rupert were excellent. The photos are really good quality and there were/are plenty to choose from.
Almost as importantly, they made us both feel really relaxed & comfortable so we hardly remembered there were photographers there - it was more like just having some wedding guests taking photos!

Fran recently did a family shoot with myself, my husband and our 13 day old baby boy at our house. I wanted little Harry to be professionally photographed as a newborn, but understandably I didn't feel I was looking my absolute best! I was also concerned that Harry would cry the entire way through the photos.Luckily Fran is a very experienced photographer, and I was quickly able to just relax and enjoy the photos being taken due to her highly approachable manner. She took fantastic photos of Harry (who didn't cry!) in several poses and settings, and of all of us together. We used Fran as the photographer for our wedding in central Bristol May 2012. From the 1st meeting Fran was friendly and easy to like. Prior to the wedding she arranged an 'engagement shoot' which although we really weren't too sure about, was great. it allowed us to see how things would be on the day and also to get a sneak peek of her amazing work - she even organised last min prints for Mother's presents on the day!We are so happy with the photos and Fran and her colleague blended into the day seamlessly - we'd asked for the photos not to be too posed and the mix is just perfect. Fran took the photos at a friend's wedding which is why we chose her - her style is very natural and 'journalistic' which is what we wanted rather than the very posy cheesy shots. She was fab - arrived on the morning and just blended into the day and the family - made us all feel very comfortable with her easy manner and sense of humour - makes such a difference.
