Q&As

Energy, but in the right phases. You cant play the same style all evening. What to expect would be a progression of slower tempo material, increasing as the evening goes on.

A style (often referred to as a 'sound') is unique to all known DJs. You hear a tune somewhere and immediately know which DJ would typically play that. Well we aren't bound by this. 4 hours is a long time to be playing one style (maybe a very short interval) so it has to change a bit. It's definately more programmed and less random. One hour it may sound like an Armin Van Buuren set and another it may sound like Ben Nicky (playing tech/PSY trance) material. Be sure to expect tracks on the Anjunabeats label, as well as the many Armada sub-labels. Some of our favourite artists include Gareth Emery / Above&Beyond / Simon Patterson / Ben Nicky / Paul Van Dyk / Armin Van Buuren / Andy Moor / Sean Tyas / Andrew Bayer / Oliver Smith / Bryan Kearney / Solarstone..

By default, we would start off with progressive house, and build up the tempo and energy as clubs do (organising the DJ sets to finish off with someone who would be playing something more 'full on'). There will be phases.

If desired, we can play some commercial dance chart too (only if asked).

Well this is more of a hobby. It could never be my main job, as much as I'd like it to be. Putting a set together is the part I like. Finding tracks that mix together and nailing the mix. The music itself, played loud and the reactions from the crowd.

Music's always been my favorite thing. I do do fishing, sports or much else. I'd rather sit and watch music channels or listen to music than watch TV. I get so much from it, and so that's why I got the DJing bug long ago. You're involved in it and part of the party.

If this is their chosen genre of music for their event, then they won't be disappointed. Everybody has their own tastes and opinions even in a niche type of music, but with my years of clubbing - and follwoing radio shows / beatport charts and keeping up with the scene I'm confident I'll be playing the right material. There must be others out there branding themselves as trance DJs and they just play the same old tracks from 20 years ago, plus all the commercial side of things. Thats not us.
