A qualified English teacher with 18 years' experience, I'm also an AQA Examiner Team Leader. Most of my new tutees come to me through recommendations from previous clients so I don't actually use Bark much but every little helps.
My work with pupils is research-informed.

Anis
Their is only one way to describe Zoe amazing, she tutor's all 3 of my kids and are making great improvment, thank god I find Zoe, she is an amazing tutor.
What do you love most about your job?
Hearing students say things like, 'your lessons are making me more intelligent' and seeing them feel real pride in their achievements.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Frustration with some of the outdated ways of teaching in schools, I left to pursue my own research-based, child-centred approach.
Why should our clients choose you?
There are many good tutors out there but few have the balance of experience and knowledge of cognitive science research that I can offer.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
I can work remotely online or in person depending on distance. If required to travel further afield I may have to ask for a contribution to petrol costs but will try to avoid this.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I have switched to online learning. As things begin to open up, I will use hand sanitizer and will socially distance when I visit students at home.
1:1 tuition in English (lang and or lit)
Lessons are typically 1-hour and take place at least once a week.
Small group tuition
To save costs, if parents would like to have pupils tutored together, I can take up to 3 students together as a group.
Tips for developing reading
I can pass on some useful practical tips to help develop your child's reading. This can be done as a one hour session with the student followed by a 1-hour conversation with parents to offer useful strategies. I will then do at least one more follow-up with parents to see how things are going.
