About

Neresia works with families of children with a variety of special needs, specialising in children with cerebral palsy and disorders related to movement, including speech and visual impairment. She uses the Open-Heart Bio-Psycho-Social approach by Deborah Beasley, to meet the challenging needs of children through this holistic, developmentally integrated, and highly successful relational model.

Neresia teaches parents, care givers and family members to recognise the talents and abilities of children as well as their limitations, and guides them through their most challenging circumstances, to work within those abilities to further children's and families' ability to form and maintain healthy relationships, body mind regulation, and future success.

In addition to her ACPI Special Needs Life Coaching Certification, Neresia holds certification in several areas related to her work with families and children: Portage therapy, Yoga for the special child, ABR training, TAMBA Twins listening service, CPCAB Levels 1 to 3, Counselling and Psychology BSc degree.

In conjunction with her experience as a mother she has held the position of chair for a local authority LA special needs group consulting with parents and liaising with senior staff on policies and procedures. As an affiliate member of (BABICM) Brain Injury Case Manager she has incorporated her knowledge and years of experience into her work with her own family and with other families and professionals in the fields of child birth and brain injury, mental health and behavioural science. Neresia works effectively within all family dynamics, race, gender and culture.
