We were very grateful to have DJ Jiten for both our Sangeet and Reception nights. Our wedding was particularly challenging, as we had a diversity of musical tastes - a combination of jive, foxtrot, Punjabi music, and also catering to different generations. DJ Jiten was not only able to cater to all of the different tastes, but made each night enjoyable for all of our guests while they danced away all night long! In fact, the dance floor was so hot, we extended our wedding reception for an extra hour as everyone was having an amazing time dancing to all of the tunes. We booked Dj Rajen for our reception at grand empire for June 2017! Rajen did an amazing job. He played all genres of music we had requested for the night. He was professional and courtesy to any request that came his way. He stuck to the itinerary and ensured the night went seem-less. He ensured everyone was on the dance floor dancing the night away. He even played a few songs before we called it a night. The highlight for my husband and myself was when he played epic 90s Bollywood songs that truly kept the youngsters and adults dancing. We had our wedding reception this past Saturday. We had the pleasure of dealing with empire entertainment. We were fortunate enough to book DJ Sparx and Vik the MC. They both introduced themselves to us before the event and made sure we were all on the same page. We got so many compliments throughout the evening. Empire took care of our lighting and sound for our wedding at Dreams Convention Centre in November. They communicated well via email/text and, perhaps most importantly, everyone arrived early on the big day. Rajen is an amazing DJ and was able to coordinate with our flautist during the morning for perfect bridal party entrance music. We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Palais Royale 2 weeks ago. Our vision for our wedding was classy and fun and that is exactly the ambiance that DJ Rajen and MC Jag (aka Jagneet) helped to create. We had an officiated ceremony and the music was on queue for the entire duration. We were initially wavering on the idea of hiring an MC, however, we had both been to enough weddings to know that the MC pretty much sets the tone for the reception. That is exactly what Jag did. We had guests raving about how amazing he was, asking where we found him and voicing how they never knew you could hire an MC for a wedding. We had a mixed crowd and the music was on point. What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
It is important to keep things upbeat and fun even in the first hours of the event when people are arriving, socializing and eating because you are setting the initial mood and ambiance. People aren't light switches you can't turn them off with slow boring music with pauses between songs. But the most important factor for every successful event is listening to the client and getting in touch with the types and genres of music they enjoy and creating your playlist around the music they want to hear. The client knows their family and friends better than you do too. The biggest mistake most entertainment companies and DJ's make is thinking they know better than the client. There are thousands of songs to choose from that will motivate people and get them dancing and having fun. Find the ones that your CLIENT connects to and WANTS to hear and you will ALWAYS have a successful DANCE party.
How would you describe your ‘style’?
I love to hear all about the type of event I would be providing entertainment for and consulting my clients first. Then it is easy to deliver the exact style they want for their event. Some clients want a high energy motivationally vocal emcee and others may want a more laid-back approach. My style is reflective of the type of entertainer required by my client but always with an approachable demeanor and easy going, fun personality.
What do you love most about your job?
Nothing is more exciting than delivering the type of entertainment that has people enjoying themselves all night long.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I love music and people! What better way to never work a day in your life than to enjoy the work you do. I enjoy entertaining people so my starting an entertainment company back in 1991 was a no-brainer!
