What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
This depends on the photograph you are taking as there is not a simple answer to catch all scenarios! If you are in the studio working with people, once you have your lighting setup and are happy with it, the only way to get a great shot is to ensure the subject is relaxed and having a good time.
If you are out at night taking a long exposure shot, then the tripod is your best friend and essential for a quality shot. If you are shooting kite surfers, or skateboarders the secret here is a really fast shutter speed to catch the action.
Every single photo shoot is different, each shoot requires the photographer to be aware of the light they have to use that is around them, whether it's artificial or ambient - to get the best shot, you have to understand light.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What will the photos be used for? Do you need a location? Do you need a model? What is the deadline? How long will the shoot take? What is your budget?
What do you love most about your job?
Everything, I love being able to go to different places and capture new things, I like to try new techniques, play with light and capture amazing photographs that will be around forever. I also enjoy the editing process, I use Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for photo editing and Final Cut Pro for video editing.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Many things! I used to work for Amazon and before that Microsoft. I was fed up with corporate life and I wanted to be my own boss so I could work the hours I wanted, to be around for my children. I have always loved photography so I quit Amazon and never looked back.

I will come to your event with 2 cameras and lots of lenses. If you need a backdrop and studio lighting for your event, I can bring this too, or I can offer candid shots of the event without the use of studio lights.

Outdoor shoots
Outdoor shoots create some of the best photos of you or your children as they are in a place where they can run around, play and be themselves.
I will spend up to a few hours out on location, either doing something you love or perhaps a lovely landscape or woodland walk with a stunning back drop. Forget constantly looking directly at the camera and saying cheese, this is all about capturing your fun natural side, where you are relaxed and just being yourself.
One thing we can’t control is the weather, so if it’s raining on your chosen day, we will simply rebook for another day when the sun is shining!
Studio Shoots
You never have to worry about the weather with a studio shoot, As part of a portrait session, I will capture a number of informal family pictures; I don't believe you all need to be sitting still or even facing the camera for a successful family portrait. For me, a family shot involves you being together - whether that be in a formal line-up or a picture that is full of action and movement as you play together.
I have a selection of different coloured backdrops that you can choose from, but most people opt for the classic white for a fun, vibrant shoot.
If you want to do this at your location, this can also be arranged.
Birthday Party - Children
Capture your little one's birthday party and have lasting memories that you can share with the whole family.
I will come to your child’s birthday party and photograph the action as it happens, including the cake, blowing out the candles and photos of your child and their best friends together, if you want to jump in, take the chance to get a quick family shot in there too!
If you would like a photo booth, with a backdrop and professional studio lights, I can arrange this for an additional fee, as long as there is suitable space at the party venue.
Live Concerts
What’s not to love about live music?
I have more than 12 years experience photographing bands on and off the stage, for promotional material and capturing live gigs. I will focus on photographing individual band members as well as the band as a whole throughout the performance.

Boudoir
I love boudoir photography, I started my career working with models, singles and couples, offering a service that wow'd everyone who came to see me. Nudity does not phase me at all, even if it is sexualised. I like to push boundaries where my models will allow and create erotic art, even if there is nothing but skin on display. Dance Photography
For dance photos, we can shoot anywhere. I love to shoot outside, in the streets, a park or woodland. Somewhere that you can really show off your skills and we can capture your beauty naturally. I do take studio lighting with me though!
