Elliots House Pet Care & More

My pup has been going to Elliot's for almost a year for day care and boarding. What can I say... she is always happy to go and when I pick her up. Staff are receptive and I love the online booking. Sometimes she smells like other dogs but I take that as a sign of a good time.For those with walking issues, that's how it goes. High demand, lots of congestion and traffic, so things can go wrong. If your dog is crated all day while you are at work is it the right time in your life to have a dog? I have personally never used Elliot's for walking but have used other services and new walkers and time shifts just happen.My family is grateful for Elliot's services. When I need to work more hours or run my kids around to activities, Elliot's has been there for us to make sure our pup is well cared for and getting those social skills to make her a great dog. LOVE THIS PLACE!First of all, the most recent negative reviews are ridiculous. These people are clearly delusional about pet care facility policies. Like... you got a new walker? Ya dude... that's life, people get hired and fired every day. Oh the walker didn't come on time? Ya man, these are highly congested cities with traffic and construction... jesus, get a life. Anyway, I brought BOTH my dogs here for daycare and they had an absolute blast. The daycare attendant (Parker) took really great care of my girls and that's all I care about. Never go to Elliot's House for any kind of care!They charge an extra $10 to you for booking the same day.If you call back ,and have been physically hurt within the hour, they don't have any compassion . ... you still pay if you've cancelled within the same hour.I used them for over a year and my dog was bit in their care.They would not pay the vet bill-said it wasn't in their "insurance contract"! This is a picture of a very tired cattle dog and it is very hard to get a cattle dog tired but everyday that she attends daycare at Elliot's House in Somerville, she comes home just like this, TIRED! Every day that we pull up out front, she goes crazy, she loves this place and she loves the people that work here. The staff are such wonderful people and really seem to enjoy the animals and their job. I love the Instagram photos that they post throughout the day and my wife and I love to sit and watch them when we get home and boy do we laugh. So creative. I was really nervous about leaving my pup someplace and checked out a lot of places and am very glad we landed here. I had to find daycare for my dog last minute and saw that Elliot’s Place had great reviews. I paid for daycare plus pickup and drop off since I don’t have a car. All together it was $60. I talked to Sloane who was so nice and informative about the registration process. Sadie got picked up by a very nice girl (I didn’t get her name) in what seemed to be a personal car (Toyota Highlander). Usually very timid, Sadie pranced off with her and hopped right in her car! I got a call midday informing me that Sadie was doing great after a little bit of apprehension. For drop off, they used keys I left to go into my apartment and leave her in her crate as I was at work (around 4:00/4:30). All seemed to go smoothly! I can’t recommend Elliot’s Place enough. I have a rescue Pomeranian who needs to be handled with extra care and professionalism - Elliot's House went above and beyond. I have had absolutely awful experiences with other dog-care institutions in Boston and Elliot's house took amazing care of Scooby, keeping me updated on the 5 nights of boarding he was in their care. They do not crate dogs and make sure to only take twelve at a time (other boarding houses take on way more than they can handle ($$$) and can therefore create stressful environments for dogs). Scooby had an awesome time and made lots of doggy friends, he came back home super happy and even more well-behaved then when he left. Their boarding even includes free pickup and drop-off. We have used Elliot's House for dog walking, grooming, and boarding for years and could not be happier. They are responsible, trustworthy, and so good with our pups. The dogs always come back from boarding exhausted and happy. And Elliot's House has gone above and beyond to help us in other situations, like stopping by to check on things when we were out of town. After relocating to the area for my wife's job, we began looking for a boarding/daycare and vet for our beloved Fozzie. He's pretty submissive and passive so having someone keep an eye on him around larger dogs is a necessity. The initial visit was easy and they were very easy to deal with and schedule through their online portals. I'm used to dealing with online scheduling but had never seen a dog boarding/daycare company that had one. It's also nice that from a boarding perspective there are no crates to create tension or discomfort as Fozzie has free roam of the house and has never really spent any time in a crate. The pickup and drop-off were seamless with the apartment concierge giving and collecting the key. Fozzie seemed to be very comfortable during both transactions with the transporter and had no nervousness during either of the transports according to the driver. This service is also included in your cost so there is only additional cost if you want the service outside of the normal transport hours. We got pictures throughout the day showing Fozzie with the other dogs in their open daycare area. He didn't have "crazy eyes" or look nervous in any of the pictures so we know he was at least having fun during the times the pictures were taken. He was also pretty tired when he returned so I'd say that is money well spent. The price paid is actually overly reasonable compared to similar pet spas where we previously lived (Durham, NC). I'd say given all the above features and benefits for the price paid we not only recommend Elliot's House but also plan on using them when we go to Barbados in the next few weeks. I can't speak to the negative reviews posted recently, as we have had a completely opposite experience thus far. The funny thing about the negative reviews here but the positive for some of the others is that I could not get any of the other competing businesses to even respond to my inquiries for pricing and to discuss their services. As such, Elliot's House became the default as we needed some help on relative short order. I'll update the review once we get Fozz back from them during boarding but thus far we have been extremely satisfied and plan to continue using them until that no longer is the case. More...

Elliot's House goes above and beyond to help their customers! We used them all the time when we lived in Somerville, and missed them when we moved out to the suburbs. We hadn't been to them in a while, but when we were in a last minute bind for boarding, they bent over backwards to help us, taking our dog super last minute and accommodating our pick up drop off requests. Thank goodness for Elliot's house! I work a rotating schedule and my husband is in grad school so our schedules are different week to week. Elliot's house has been able to easily accommodate our ever changing walk requests for our two Boston terriers and have gone the extra mile to insure our little guy who has cancer gets what he needs. Elliot's House has been a godsend to me. When I travel, I sure miss my sweet Quechee, but I know that she's having fun with other dogs in a crate-free environment. I watch closely when she is picked up by their pet taxi - she goes into the van happily. They send me photos every day which means a lot. Elliot's is careful to take dogs only after they've interviewed you and the dog - to me, this means that they are being careful and professional to take dogs that are well-trained and well behaved. Kaito loves being picked up to go to daycare! He looks out the window from the 12th floor for the van... After daycare, we can tell that he has dissipated energy playing with his buds, allowing for him to act very civilized and content when we return home from work. We're happy that he's happy.

I've been using Elliott's for a couple of months - since I got my new Bassett hound, Eugene, in December last year. They have been great with daily walks, pet sitting and kennel services. I've had a great experience with Elliot's House.  They do daily dog walking but also boarding when needed.  The office staff has been super helpful, and a few times when my pup has had a bad day (eg, tummy trouble), they've been really helpful in letting me know and it seems like the dog walkers really look after him.  The only downside is that it seems like there's a bit of turnover in the walkers - and definitely some have seemed better than others - but unfortunately I don't think that's' uncommon.  I also appreciate they have a online portal you can use to check the schedule and making walk/boarding requests. I've been using Elliot's House since we moved to Somerville in January, and I'm so happy we found them! Their dog walkers are wonderful and my lab, George, absolutely adores them. The dog walkers always send the sweetest text updates (with photos!) - it's so comforting to receive them at work, knowing George is being taken care of and having a blast.

The staff is absolutely lovely, and Valerie - who I've corresponded with multiple times, sometimes to cancel dog walks last minute - is incredibly kind and helpful.

One of my favorite aspects of Elliot's House is how easy it is to set up a dog walk (or any other service you might need). Once you create an account, you can easily set it up on their website. They even have a calendar set up so you can see who's walking your dog on what day and time.
