I had to convince my wife to travel outside downtown a bit on the bus, but we were rewarded with an outstanding meal. The staff was constantly courteous and helped us pick out a meal (we had the large shared plate which I recommend as it's a great deal at £24 for 2) and each and every sauce and meat we tried was better than the last one. I asked my wife what the green one was, she said "awesomeness!" Definitely worth the short ride out. Yeah, it's in a somewhat dirtier part of town and a bit hard to spot back from the main road (look in a small plaza behind an Islamic Center), but make the trip put and you'll be pleased! More...

We had a really good time at Eeshi's kitchen this weekend while visiting the ExCeL for a convention of Jehovah's Witnesses. The environment was peaceful and very well decorated, and the food reasonably priced. We had the Roasted Half Cajun Chicken, which was absolutely brilliant! Went for breakfast with my friend. I would absolutely recommend Eeshi's Kitchen. I had a delicious breakfast there today, whilst the kids were at an Excel convention. The brothers that own and run it were so delightful and friendly, I stayed much longer than intended purely because I felt so welcome and at ease. Perfect food and perfect service. Had dinner here last night with my partner and his dad as he was staying in a nearby hotel. Ordered the steak and chips deal which was cooked and seasoned perfectly - most places overcook steak when you ask for medium rare, but it was great! My partner’s dad said “I’ve had worse steaks at much fancier places for quadruple the price”, and he’s very hard to please with a steak so it was definitely good! The service was brilliant. We were told they were understaffed so only one guy was out front serving drinks, food, taking orders, clearing away and getting the bills. He was incredibly friendly, had a joke with us and was clearly trying to ensure we had the best service, which we did. We will definitely be returning! More...

Staying in a hotel nearby and just accidentally walked into this nice restaurant. 'Somebody' was studying something at the corner and later found he's the owner. Surprisingly, the owner speaks Chinese and has a Chinese wife. More importantly, the food was nice. We ordered British steak and garlic bread.Taste feels local. Really like the owner's hospitality. Excellent place to eat! Like many other reviews, I really enjoyed dining here. I went for lunch and had the lamb chops and a cup of tea. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked and deliciously seasoned, and the accompanying potatoes and beans were also well cooked. The service was excellent - very friend and attentive staff!
