I feel so fortunate to have been connected with EC Petcare. They are very responsive to requests and scheduling, and my cat sitter Carrie is the absolute best. Our somewhat timid cat adores her, and I get lots of sweet comments and pictures from Carrie during her sessions. They also use an app which makes connecting with them so easy. Frederic is a smart, energetic, but easily distractible and somewhat mischievous boy who requires proper guidance and enriching exercise. Ellaree and her staff were extremely helpful in working with Frederic to tidy up his leash manners and quell anxiety while being exposed to the majesty that is the outside world. She also provided us with a wealth of knowledge and insight as to how we could better approach our training sessions/daily life with him. My dog Penny is a sweetheart... to me and her dad. Exclusively.I think she was mad at us for moving her out of SF and to PDX (she missed her doggo friends and the lack of rain). We were really worried about finding her a walker she would get along with.Then she met Ellaree. And she fell in love. No joke, sometimes I think Penny loves Ellaree more than us, but that's okay, I only take it a little personally :). Ellaree is the dog whisperer and our fear-based reactive pup LOVES her so much it's tough to see her face waiting on the days she doesn't need a walk. Like today. She's just staring forlornly out the window wondering when she's going to get see Ellaree. EC Petcare has been so wonderful as my pup has been growing up. I've experienced dog walking services as well as a personal training session with Ellaree. I've also coordinated with Ellaree when I had some tricky scheduling issues, which she was great at accommodating. I am SO happy with EC Petcare!! I have a 1 year old 70+ lb pitbull mix that has had a lot of anxiety & behavioral things. Ellaree really helped me with not just our problems but also general training. Ellaree is super personable, and has checked in on our progress throughout our training journey. I am pleased to report that it has only been about a month and my dog has made sooooo much progress. I have also hired EC petcare for their overnight care service while I was out of town, and that was awesome too! They kept up with my dogs training, and walked him every day for a super reasonable price. I couldn't recommend EC petcare enough! They have seriously changed me & my dogs life! More...

Was having some behavioral issues with my adult pit/boxer mix. After Ellaree asked me detailed questions, she came to my home to meet my family and dog. She was efficient with my time, carefully detailing a plan that was not over whelming and was easy to follow. I appreciated that she also respected my limited budget and was able to provide me information that allowed me to continue the skills with my dog, on my own, successfully. While Ellaree was at my home, she showcased her knowledge and love for animals by correctly guessing habits and activities that we were already doing with our animal- some of which were the cause of the behavior problems. As everyone else has said, Ellaree is awesome! We hired her to watch our cats while we were away and she did a perfect job, gave daily updates via text, was super communicative (and really good-natured about the jerky behavior of one of those cats). We will definitely call on her again when the need arises, and plan on inquiring about dog sitting whenever we go somewhere where we can't bring our pup along. Love that she came for a meet and greet before hand, and is licensed/insured—and takes a pretty detailed history of your pets and their needs/behavior. She's friendly, professional, and obviously loves animals, and we 100% recommend her for pet watching services! Easily 5 stars for EC Petcare! They went above and beyond all expectations. We used the service shortly after moving to Portland and were worried about going on a trip and leaving our cats right after moving. Ellaree made sure that this wasn’t a problem and checked in every day that we were gone. She provided thorough updates, pictures, and care throughout the process. What do you love most about your job?
That every day I get to spend my life with animals. There is nothing greater than the joy a pet brings. They light up our lives without even knowing it. I am truly blessed to be doing what I'm doing.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I always had a connection with dogs, ever since I was little. I would sleep in the backyard with them, play in the dirt, hang out with my neighbors pets, you name it, if there was an animal, I was there!
Once I started volunteering at local shelters walking dogs, I just knew that this was what I was supposed to be doing.
This never feels like work to me, its like I'm on a constant vacation because I love my occupation!
Why should our clients choose you?
I've dealt with every situation imaginable through years upon years of experience. I have the credibility, the best pet insurance, know pet cpr, am a certified dog trainer so I know body language, signs of stress, complications in stool, can give you advice on how to help with behavioral problems. I also have the best pet care professionals on my team! I'm very picky who I hire and everyone has to have some sort of background in the animal field. Whether it be a vet tech, doggy day care, trainer, everyone has some sort of professional pet care experience.

I prefer to do remotely, I understand during these times that is a difficult task. I do offer training sessions in people's backyards, parking lots, school playgrounds, etc.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
All of us at EC Petcare wear masks, practice social distancing, when we are out with a pup we keep 6 ft from others at all times, in between services we either wash our hands or use hand sanitizer, if we end up pet sitting in a clients home prior to leaving we clean/sanitize all the things we have touched (light switches, remotes, dog bowls, counters, put bedding in laundry, etc) and we have our own leashes if you'd prefer us to use those.

Exercise not only gets them out of the house and lets them enjoy the fresh air, they get mental stimulation, able to explore, sniff, and get some fun during your work day! Feel at ease knowing our experienced professionals are taking extra care during the walk by paying attention to our surroundings, walking as fast or as slow as Fido needs, all while giving them the love and adventure they deserve.
Pet Sitting
Planning a family vacation? Need to go out of town for a business trip? Don’t worry, we got you covered! Our dedicated and fully insured pet care professionals will keep your mind at ease while you’re away by staying in your home with your pet(s) to provide the best care possible. Animals are more comfortable with their familiar surroundings, less stress and worry, and get one on one focused attention. Kennels or daycare can cause illness, discomfort, anxiety, and have inexperienced providers. Having a sitter in your home also protects and eliminates "away from home" signals. We will water plants, collect mail, take cans to the curb, etc. and of course send plenty of pictures and updates of your furry family member. We are familiar with all pets; dogs, cats, chickens, goats, rodents, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and are comfortable administering medication - at no extra fee.
