There are so many things I could say about DS Entertainment but not enough words to convey how I feel about the owner, Dallas Sherman.
After contacting several DJ/Entertainment companies I reached out to Dallas and immediately knew this was the person to provide the music for my wedding even before I checked his website.
His communication was thorough and throughout the entire process he literally held my hand. From the Bridal party processional music to the rendition of Auld Lang Syne, Dallas did his research and made sure that he chose the correct version.
My guests ranged in age from 30's to 90's and he read the crowd well as the dancefloor was full right up until the last dance and the crowd was left asking for more.
I had requested two dedications and Dallas took the time to find out about the people those dedications were for and what they meant to me. He also made a suggestion as to how I could honor those people further and I took him up on that and my loved ones were overcome with tears of joy as was I as we danced to the selections.
There were also a few unexpected surprises based on certain things I had discussed with Dallas and these will be in my heart and memories forever.
Dallas knows all genres of music and goes out of his way to make sure that not only his client but their guests are left wanting more.
I will be recommending Dallas to my Co-workers, friends and neighbours and anyone else is looking to who hire a professional to MC and provide the music for their event and I hope that if you are reading this that you will look no further than DS Entertainment for your event. You wont be disappointed.

My wife and I decided to have a "Big 30" birthday party for our daughter. We hired Dallas as our DJ. He answered all of our questions and helped guide us before our get together. We had a sizable crowd during the party. Dallas expertly read the crowd and did a very professional job during our 3 hour event. He got our guest in a party mood, lots of Karaoke and fun in general. When learning that my wife and I would be in costume for our Karaoke, he came up with an excellent intro for the characters we played. As a bonus, he even did a Karaoke himself as the party was ending, it was awesome! Dallas set the stage for a very memorable and amazing night. He kept guests of all ages on the dance floor with his sequencing and selection of songs from our playlist. As the mother of the bride, I danced 3 out of 5 hours that the music was playing. We did not want to see the night come to an end. Dallas was amazing from the moment we booked him! And he went above and beyond to help make our wedding the amazing time it was. I showed my then fiance a few DJs I'd found on various websites and we both kept coming back to Dallas so he reached out to him. Dallas was very responsive and took all our ideas and them reality. And I'm not just talking about music. He also does his own lighting and was able to light up the venue exactly as I pictured it. I always figured I'd be too busy talking to guests to get to enjoy the dance floor but I spent a good portion of the night dancing. He definitely took our music preferences into thoughtful consideration and put on the perfect mix by expanding on it. Dallas Sherman’s Entertainment USA performed at our anniversary. It was our silver anniversary and we had a big crowd of people. We held the party in a hotel. Everything Mr. Sherman did was top notch. A couple weeks before the party Mr. Sherman met with us and discussed the music we liked. We also discussed the program for the night. Mr. Sherman understood what we wanted and delivered perfectly. Mr. Sherman MCed the party’s official activities and then DJed the dancing. The night was full of fun and everyone had a great time. DS Entertainment provided live performers for our company’s party. Led by Dallas Sherman, the troupe of four performers entertained us for over two hours. They sang songs from many different genres. We wanted a variety show and they delivered. The lighting and stage effects were great. They had fog machines and a bubble machine that added to the ambiance of the singers. What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
People, Preparation and Execution. It's all about what the people, the client and the invited guests, want. DSE works with our clients to customize the music to the event. DSE uses our proprietary Event Planning Worksheet to get the music just right. We work directly with the client's event planner to understand all aspects of the event. Execution. For every event, we visit the venue prior to the show. First to get the general layout and introduce ourselves to the venue management and for placement of equipment, lights, fog machine or whatever equipment may be needed. During the event, when possible, we try to take as many song requests as we can, given the itinerary for the night. Most of all the goal is to have fun!
How would you describe your ‘style’?
As an experienced broadcaster, I know the right balance of fast and slow music, announcements and song requests. Yet when engaged at a private event, the needs of the client become paramount. I approach every booking as if it were my own event. It may be a once in a lifetime event for my client, so my job is to ensure everyone has a memorable time. If it is an annual event, each should be better and more entertaining than the last. Additionally, I serve my clients with integrity and honor. There are no hidden fees. Our clients are never charged for set-up, tear down, mileage or client meetings. Additionally, Master of Ceremony (MC) service is never charged when a DJ, KJ or live performance is booked. All costs are presented as early as possible after initial conversation.
What do you love most about your job?
The best part of this work is the people. People attending our clients' events are there for a good time. It is the best feeling when guests come up to me and tells me how much they are enjoying themselves. Watching people smiling and dancing to the music I play, simply gives me a feeling of unbelievable fulfillment. Whether it's working with the client in the preparation for their day or playing a requested song I enjoy helping people fulfill their dreams.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My father once told me, "Do what you love or find something else to do." Great advice. I love entertaining; whether it is DJing or singing. Further, I am very eclectic when it comes to music. I love it all; from classical to trance, disco to R&B country to rock & roll and every genre in between music lays bear the soul, feelings, and emotions of the listener. No one listens to a song the same. It evokes memories or makes memories for years to come. Finally, I enjoy seeing the joy and happiness on the faces of the client and invited guests which is priceless.
