LOVE MARISSA FOX!I love her so much I want to throw events so I can have an excuse to hire her. She was a God send in capturing Forever photos for my wedding album. She was professional, responsive, flexible, and patient when it came to scheduling and coordinating place & time. Willing to go the extra mile, she arrived early for a drive to the top of Mt. Diablo, roll in the dirt, at the perfect time to capture some beautiful sunset photos - definitely a Diamond (and not in the ruff!). Choosing your photographer is going to be the most important decision you make for your events, nonethless your wedding day. Not only did Marissa make us feel really comfortable working with her, but she was genuinely passionate about us, her work, and we are so grateful to have had to opportunity to work with her. It's easy to write a great review for Marissa. We reached out to her looking for a photographer to do a newborn/family photoshoot with our two month old. Marissa was super responsive and answered all my questions. Her prices were competitive and she delivered everything just as promised - even getting our photos to us early for the holidays! This review is long overdue. I highly recommend Marissa to anyone looking to have magical pictures taken. Not only did she manage to fit us in with really short notice (less than 48 hours), her pricing was super competitive for an amazing photo shoot in the comfort of our own home! WOW! WOW! WOW! I am super happy with the photos that Marissa took for my new web site. Marissa really got what I was trying to capture, so she suggested we meet at Mt. Diablo, close to dusk (Marissa knew the golden light would be beautiful, which it was!). Marissa had suggested I bring a couple of different tops, so that it wouldn't look like we took all the photos at once. Marissa was great with my dog and great at suggesting different angles and poses. We would take photos in one location, then go to another part of the mountain for photos. We were together for about 1 hour and 15 minutes and the end result is that I have a fantastic portfolio.I whole heartedly recommend Marissa of Dirt, Pearls and Curls Photography for a comfortable photo shoot experience that yields photos you will love. TWO THUMBS UP!We had our kids' summer photos scheduled with Marissa during one of her mini-shoot sessions and I'm so glad we did! She was professional, friendly, and fun but most importantly she made my 8 and 2 year old feel completely comfortable in front of the camera (which never happens, especially with people they meet for the first time!). And of course, we LOVE how beautiful the photos came out! LOVE her photography style, and how she was able to capture my kids' personalities so well. I definitely recommend her for any type of events -- but especially if you're looking for that bright and airy photography style. Marissa is AMAZING!!!! She photographed a couples photo shoot for my boyfriend and I last month in the Grass Valley area. We discussed what I was looking for and possible locations beforehand . She was really thoughtful, worked with what I had envisioned, and suggested additional locations as well. Marissa really has a wonderful eye for lighting and posing. She also has the unique ability to make everyone around her feel completely comfortable in front of the camera which is not an easy feat to accomplish. Because of this, we looked natural in all the pictures and our personalities were captured on film. My boyfriend even said he had fun shooting! I can’t recommend Marissa enough. You won’t be disappointed in either the pictures or the experience of working with her. If we could give her 10 stars we would. Marissa is AMAZING! She is extremely creative, fun, and has such a bubbly personality. When I first inquired with her she replied promptly and provided thorough answers to all of my questions. She did our maternity photoshoot recently and captured such great and memorable photos! We worked with Marissa for our baby's 1yr cake smash photo shoot. As a new mom, I was very anxious about this entire thing and wanted my photos to be perfect! Throughout the entire process Marissa was very communicative and clear regarding the process, her style of work, as well as her pricing. She was quick to answer any questions I had and tried to assure me that things were going to be fine, and she understood why I would want my photos to be perfect. I had viewed her website and some of her work on there and decided that her style of photography was in line with what I was looking for.On the day of the shoot, we met her at the location (I arrived early to do my own set up) and she just got right into it. The way she worked seemed very natural and effortless. We tried to stay out of her way but she still let us engage and interact with our baby to try to maximize SMILES!!! It was a very quick shoot but she was able to capture some amazing photos! I was very scared at the beginning because I knew I was paying for these photos and what if I didn't like them?!! We loved our family and newborn photo session with Marissa. Marissa got our toddler to totally open up which made for such wonderfully candid photos of our daughter, really showing her sweet and spunky personality. Marissa had great pose ideas and knew which locations in the house would be best for perfect lighting. We love Marissa's sweet and fun personality and how quickly we were able to get a sneak peek of some pictures. We loved all of the photos and will definitely use her again in the future.
