Had a great day at the Beginners Photography Workshop, it was informal, relaxed and most of all fun! It's one thing to read about how light affects an image, it's another thing entirely to be guided by a professional when taking images to realise how much of an impact it has and what to look out for. We have a black Labrador and most of the photos I have of her are more of a silhouette. Maria recently took some shots of my girl at the Sawbridgeworth show and I now have a photo that lets her personality shine through. We purchased a 'Watch me grow' photography package with Maria for our new border collie puppy, Lexa. Two shoots in and we couldn't be happier with the experience and the results. Maria made us and Lexa feel completely relaxed and she has captured exactly the images and memories we want of Lexa as a puppy. Cannot recommend her highly enough and Lexa loves her too! I took my son and dog in for a Christmas mini session and we had a great time. Pictures came out really well and I was really impressed with how Maria managed to get them both calm relaxed and looking in the right place! Would definitely recommend.

I purchased a beauty unveiled shoot with Maria as a wedding present for my husband. I booked a Christmas Mini session for my baby on the recommendation of a friend and was delighted with the selection of photographs we received! The service was extremely professional. Maria really engaged with my daughter during the shoot and was therefore able to capture a range of images including a beautiful picture, which we love, where she's looking directly at the camera and smiling. Not easy to achieve with a 9 month old who was very distracted by the decorations on the tree behind her! Thank you so much! More...

Just recently had a mini Christmas shoot with our 5 pups, as always Maria is very patient and is genuinely happy to see them all, this is our second time with her and the end results are amazing. My Grandpa bought me some vouchers towards a Pet Photography shoot last year. It had always been a dream of mine to have a family photoshoot of myself, my partner Lorenzo & our two miniature dachshunds Minnie & Sweep. Sadly my Grandpa passed away before we did the shoot but he definitely bought the sunshine out for us today. Maria, from day one, was warm, friendly & welcoming when we attended a meeting with her at the studio to discuss & plan our shoot earlier this year. Due to a few unforeseen circumstances such as the good old English weather & Sweep hurting his toe, the shoot had to be postponed several times. Maria was always so understanding & did her best to accommodate us when re-booking.
The shoot itself was fantastic, as Lorenzo put it, "like going on a dog walk with a good friend." The images captured were candid and even the more posed shots felt so natural, just what we wanted.
Maria is highly experienced in dog behaviour and every step of the way our dogs' safety and wellbeing was carefully considered. Minnie isn't good with other dogs & Sweep is incredibly nervous so we weren't sure how they would react. Maria was able to create an environment where they both felt safe & happy. We have rarely seen Sweep warm to a stranger like he did to Maria (with no use of treats either!)
Maria is such a lovely lady & so incredibly talented at what she does, the sneak peak photo that we've seen is stunning & we can't wait to see the rest in a couple of weeks time. Contact Maria today to arrange your photoshoot, you won't regret it! More...

We booked Maria for our wedding back in August. She was excellent leading up to the wedding and on the day - helpful, professional and easy going as well as making it fun which was just what we needed. I just have to say how bloody amazing this lady is at her job, our Spaniel Pipa had her photo taken by Detheo in the first and second year of her life, both times just at a fun dog show, the second photo going on the win awards, and so rightly deserved they are. Stunning, stunning pictures and will never think about using another photographer for our pets,

Very nice to meet up again with the crew at All About Dogs at Hylands Park Chelmsford on Saturday 23rd Sept 2017. Boz was a hit and quite well behaved. Loved meeting Maria and even sat still long enough to have his photo taken. They were brilliant with him and got some superb shots, just what I was after, perfect. Maria is absolutely fantastic! Myself and my husband met Maria a little over a year ago when I enquired after a photoshoot of our family dog, Gus. She was incredibly informative, and understood exactly what we was looking for. She was very understanding when I explained that I had a little grumpy dog and was very reassuring that this would not matter at all. And she was right! On the day of the<span id="moreReview590671" class="hide"> shoot, her and Gus bonded immediately, she really has a way with animals and you can tell she found her vocation in life. She absolutely loves her job and this shines through. Gus certainly made an impact that day with an impromptu dive into a pond with both myself and Maria diving in after him. Covered in mud and soaked through, this did not deter Maria from making the most of our day. We continued on and the photo’s come out better than we ever dreamed possible. We have used Detheo Photography on a number of occasions, personally and professionally and chose them for their experience with animals and pet specialism. We have a very shy and scared cat but their approach still meant that we got some fantastic photo's which we absolutely love. We have also used them to photograph our dog, several times actually, he absolutely loved Maria. I had the pleasure of meeting Maria at a photo shoot for Great Hallingbury Manor, I had never done anything like this before and Maria was lovely and put me at ease straight away. It was a fantastic day and I was over the moon with the final pictures. A few months on I contacted Maria to inquire about a photography course for me and my sister and she was more than happy to help and we both spent<span id="moreReview590294" class="hide"> the day with her and it was fantastic, we both learned so much about basic photography and again Maria was lovely and made the whole day enjoyable.
