I booked a cake smash photoshoot for my babies first birthday on a whim and I couldn't be happier with the sneak peek photos! Danielle gave me control to decide the theme, backdrop and helped me with ideas. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
There are many elements to taking a great photograph. Firstly you need the right gear. You also need to know a lot about how lighting etc can affect your photograph. When shooting a photograph you have to be aware of ISO, aperture and shutter speed, and what levels work together to create the best shot (depending where you are shooting).There is then the composition of the photograph. But it doesn't end there! Post processing also takes a lot of time, to remove blemishes, shadows etc.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Questions vary depending on what I am shooting. If it is a wedding, I always ask for a list of formal shots hey would like, and any preferences they have or ideas they would like to try. We work together to create exactly what the bride and groom want, to ensure we get the perfect shots as quickly and efficiently as possible.
What do you love most about your job?
I love capturing memories that will last a lifetime. Whether it be the tiny details of a newborn baby, or the first kiss as man and wife. All of these are moments in time, the clients can look back on in years to come, and share with their loved ones.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have always had a passion for photography since I can remember. i started my business last year after having my son, and realising the 9-5 job couldn't fit in with my life anymore. I feel like the luckiest person, being able to do what I love so much for my career
