Excellent landscape design firm. Their team was professional, from the initial planning to project completion. Highly recommend for any landscaping projects.

Cross River Design installed a beautiful Leisure fiberglass pool at my house. It was complete with blue stone coping and looks amazing.

From the very start, the representatives were very responsive and worked with me throughout the process. The communication was constant and answered all my questions and concerns. When we hit a snag in the installation, the crew was quick to correct it and come up with solutions.

The crew was professional, hard working and meticulous. They always left the site clean and were a pleasure to talk to. They were courteous of any neighbor concerns and truly cared about my satisfaction.

Cross River Design is truly a great company to work with and I highly recommend them for pool and hardscaping work.

Cross River has designed and executed two jobs on our property. The first was a major project where we needed to completely redesign the backyard with replacement of a deck, installation of a pavilion and addressing a serious water flow problem. For such an undertaking, we needed a design which combined both aesthetic appeal and technical functionality. Cross River hit it out of the park on both counts! In fact, we intend to continue to make use of their skills for the entire front of the property. More...

From our first meeting with Tony, he and his team have been incredibly responsive and listened to our dreams for our property and turned them into great designs and flawlessly executed on them, including transforming an awkward wing wall into a beautiful wall/garden gate that gets compliments all the time. We have used them now on multiple projects, and have been extremely pleased with the outcomes. More...

We are writing to let you know how delighted we are with our new landscaping! We
could not be happier. Cross River Design exceeded our expectations in every way.
In addition to the end product (which is perfect), we are highly impressed with Cross
River’s project management – from the initial design process to the final grass seeding.
We are also impressed with the professionalism and craftsmanship of the Cross river
team.
Your construction crew also merits recognition. These men are true craftsmen – they
obviously take great pride in their work and deliver high quality results. They spent a
great deal of time on the “infrastructure”, painstakingly laying out the grading, drainage,
and foundation for the landings and patio to assure the work matched specifications.
The stonelayers carefully selected material to create a pleasing combination of color,
size, and shape. The carpenters paid a great deal of attention to fit and finish. In
addition, the men were punctual, courteous and neat.
We enjoy this new outdoor living space daily and are confident your quality
landscaping added significant and lasting value to our home.
Sincerely,
The Moore’s

Beautiful, quality workmanship is the result Cross River Designs Inc provides. Talent, intelligent approach and communication, reliability, creativity and trustworthiness defines Cross River Design, Inc. Plainly put, Cross River is incredibly wonderful at providing the highest quality work you need/want.

Their staff thinks outside of the box for solutions that prove not only practical but ideal for your purposes. Completely trustworthy as well, my back door was unlocked the entirety of the time they were here working. (providing bathroom access as well as access to various functions in my home)

I found Cross River after four (yes 4!) years of researching to find a company I could absolutely trust to do not only a beautiful job, but a job of highest quality and of reasonable cost.

My goal; put in a pool and add terrace space connected to the house near the kitchen - making cooking outside convenient. Why four years? Because putting in a pool is a seasonal job and no company, prior to my discovery of Cross River, had provided a plan that dealt with both practical concerns properly (drainage for one), no other company had addressed the elevations of the property and provided options to address so to maximize the space and make it as lovely as possible.

No other company - UNTIL Tony from Cross River Designs first came to meet me and discuss my project. Meeting with him was a joy and like no other meeting with any other company representative. Aspects I had not found in my research were revealed to me by Tony; in addition to his providing all of the (necessary!) analysis other companies never mentioned (let alone cost out in their estimates).

The pool, terrace, landscaping, masonry - every bit is absolutely beautiful and perfectly practical. Cross River Designs Inc. is wonderful, I am ever thankful for their creation of an oasis now enjoyed by my family and friends.

We hired Cross River Design to plan and install a large project after purchasing a new home. The quality of hardscape installed by the builder was so poor that we had to replace all of it, including the front walks, entire rear patio, and part of the driveway. We also had terrible soil and the lawn was virtually all weeds. The entire lot was scraped and new soil, sod, and a sprinkler system was installed. We have also created and installed new planting beds both front and rear. Cross River owner Tony Berardo is a great guy who is very easy to work with, as are the crews who come do the work. The quality of work is very high and performed in a timely manner. I would recommend Cross River Design to anyone. More...

Cross River and Tony Berardo did an excellent job. My project was relatively modest in relation to some of the photos and reviews presented, but I clearly received the same top quality service. The project consisted of replacing all the plantings that surround my house. Tony took the time to listen and understand what my issues were and what I wanted to accomplish. He then presented plans showing what he was proposing and took the time to explain them, showing pictures of what the plants were.

But here is where the value of Tony and Cross River stand out: Tony saw well beyond what I could see. He did not simply respond to replacing plants, but responded to details such as bed size, soil quality, drainage issues, grading, exposure. These details made a signifiant difference in the final product. The plants he selected were plants I would never had thought of. They look great and accomplished what I wanted for color, texture, maintenance, and the overall look of my property.

The installation team did an excellent job also. Always supervised and professional, they took care in what they did and were respectful of the surroundings, always leaving the site clean and safe. The quality of the products and materials used were top notch. This made a difference in the final product.

I highly recommend them!

We have used Cross River for quite a few projects over the last 18 years.
We built a new home in 1997 which required walkways and retaining walls and picket fence. This is in the rear of house but is the introductory entrance to the house
The walkways are brick, dry laid on a stone compacted base. After all these years the walk is exactly as laid and only this last winter did we experience any slight heaving during the coldest period.
When the thaw arrived everything settled right back in place. The courtyard enclosed by a stone stacked wall with picket fence as intrical part is completely stable and only
painting of the cedar has been the maintenance regime.
The house was built on the side of a hill which required a retaining wall to offer a level front yard. Cross River designed and built a curved stacked two level stone wall with a generator shed to dress and give some character rather than just an ordinary wall. I stands intact totally as build after 17 years.

As far as timely production, They are extremely diligent and workmen like during design and construction. How long it took has been lost to time.

After 17 years, many storms and normal wear and tear of the property, this year we decided it needed refreshing and we contracted with Tony to plant four large maples in the patio area and replace 15 evergreens flanking the driveway that were lost to Sandy. They also resurfaced our stone driveway (1/4 mile).
They trenched piping and electrical to new standby generator. This required removing several courses of a brick patio they had laid 12-13 years ago (totally stable) and re-lay to original specification, completed timely and as expected with cooperation with the plumbing and electrical contractor as needed.

We have relied on Tony Berardo for design and construction with complete confidence in him and his employees. The have always performed the many projects
we awarded, professionally and in a timely manner.

Cross River supplied: yard care (clean up etc.), designs, hardscapes, plants and trees (with planting), fencing, sports court (previously a play-yard), irrigation, plans for a variety of designs which we elected not to have install, such as pool placement and other garden areas such as vegetable and rose gardens. The yard developed over a span of 13 years (for budgeting reasons) and is appears as if we had a single plan pulled together at one time.
The Cross River team was patient, accommodating, respectful, and I felt they understood my vision. They always came on schedule, work was finished quickly and guarantees were honored.
They work with multimillion dollar homes and I felt my projects and home was equally important.
I have a ~ 2 ace home, 15 years old, that was built into an unevenly sloped hill on an open field. We have had a series of projects over the years to landscape the lot. I think the most impressive work is the terracing in the back, with a 1/2 court, sports court for tennis and basketball. That sports court in the earlier years served as a play yard (designed by Cross River), an area with a swing/wooden gym set and trampoline for the children. The ability to adapt the area from the play yard to an adult play yard (which could have easily been a pool, too) was an amazing forward thinking planning. The shed (previously a play house) for the sports equipment looks like a cottage, nestled under the trees, with a paved walk way to the door, surrounded by a series of deer-resistant blooming perennials. The plants begin blooming in sequence, starting in the spring and go through to fall. The colors are a variety of purple hues, offset by grasses with fluffy plumes and contrasted by the shrubs that change color throughout the seasons. The winter scene is equally impressive.
You have got to see the yard after a rain storm, with rainbows looming over the hills behind us, as it is seen from the back yard terraces. In the summer we have birds (i.e., doves, humming birds) and Monarch butterflies attracted by the Butterfly bushes and flowers with lots of bumble bees.
They make gardens out of hay fields with fine designs, not your average landscaper.

Working with team at Cross River Design was just as amazing as the final product they delivered.....and continue to service. We have just passed the 2 year mark on project commencement and our landscape continues to exceed our expectations as it matures into the personality we hoped for.
The project commenced with us filling out questionnaires on individual tastes, likes and preferences. We were able, and encouaged, to provide as much feedback as desired. We received 3 versions and cost basis to review and were able to customize the final version.
The entire team from design, project lead, execution and follow-up was extremely customer oriented and respectful. We got 110% of what we wanted and have embarked on further projects with Cross River Design.
If you are a discerning homeowner looking for a space that uniquely speaks your style while respecting budget then CRD is really worth your time.

Last Spring my wife and I hired Tony's company and we could not believe the amazing drawings that his firm created for landscaping project. We liked that Tony spent an entire afternoon listening to our likes and dislikes about project.
It's rare that you find a person of his quality and experience who actually listed to our personal needs and it's not about his ego like our last two companies we met with over a two year span.

It was so cool that they did not pressure us to use his company and his follow up was amazing.
The design cost was within our budget..
Karen and I are most impressed that they have many trees that we can chose from their nursery.
Many companies that we have used will sell a tree and you have know idea about what the quality..

We have already reccomended Cross River Design to another couple in our township.

Our Cross River Design landscape project took place over a dozen years and several phases. During that time we had the opportunity to visit a number of completed projects at properties throughout the area to see examples of Cross River Design’s work. Each was beautiful, different and in harmony with the architecture of the homes and (I believe) a cut above any other landscape design work I have seen. Our own landscape is a joy to us every day. The Cross River Design team got to know us and learned about our preferences and tastes. Then they took firm control of the process and through a series of conversations, photographs, sketches blueprints and site work, created a superb, evolving landscape. Although our project is relatively modest in scale for Cross River Design we felt like we were their top priority and got the best they had to offer. They completed work to the specifications on time, on budget and with a minimum of disruption to our lives. Let me be clear, although we had a pretty good idea of what we wanted (or thought we wanted) Cross River Design delivered something far better than what we originally imagined. More...

I have worked with Cross River both on landscape design and implementation of a plan and they perform regularly scheduled maintenance on our yard. They are true landscape architects in that they create outdoor space and not just landscape your yard. They are so professional and easy to work with and do an excellent job at bringing the project in within your budget. We love our outdoor spaces that they have created for us in both the front and back yards-these spaces are like extensions of our home for entertaining! Even if I had a problem with a plant, the plan etc, they immediately addressed the issue.
Our project will require about 2 more years to complete and I can't recommend them enough.

Cross River Design, designed and implemented our very large landscape for our new house. They have continued to be a presence on our property maintaining it to the highest standards. I cannot say enough good things about working with the whole organization: The design process was iterative- they listened to what we wanted and worked to give us all of the features we were looking for. They suggested additions, but were respectful of our vision.

The implementation was excellent-- they were the one part of the project that I never worried about being executed as they had specified it. They did what they said they were going to do, in the time frame they promised. The maintenance has been outstanding, and the property looks well cared for, very natural and has grown in spledidly.

With Cross River, there is a high value for your money-- you know you are going to get what has been promised. They are all reliable and down to earth group of people. I can highly recommend them.
