What makes a great website?
A great website is one that successfully merges the goals of the client with the needs of the viewers. We strongly factor user experience into our designs, and we pride ourselves is working collaboratively with you on the entire project.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
The first step with any new client is to have a kick-off meeting to discuss what can be expected during the course of the project. From there I will outline the project timeline with milestones. The milestones help clients understand how progress is being made and the duration of each step. Each milestone carries with it a meeting either via phone or in person. For website projects the client will always have access to the beta website. From this point on, the client has full visibility of the process and can offer insights and real-time feedback.
Each project includes at least 1 week of QA/QC time to ensure the finished product functions as planned. We then move to training. Post-project, I am available for questions, additional training and online support.
What do you love most about your job?
I love helping clients address their business technical and marketing problems. I am also really inspired by all that is possible with WordPress and a good design.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Cover Crop Marketing's first projects were with local agricultural businesses and non-profits, developing marketing to help them realize their goals. We love local businesses and non-profits, and regularly donate our services to these types of clients. A BS and MS in Engineering, plus continuous ongoing training/education in marketing, IT, coding, design, and project management, allowed the business to grow into what it is today!

Current and past clients have hired me to solve technical sales/marketing issues related to understanding, retaining and adding greater value to their customers. The work includes branding, websites and ecommerce, SEO and SEM, social media including ghost writing enewsletters, and more recently, platform integrations and development of eLearning platforms.
