Q&As

I love witnessing my clients discover strengths they didn't know they had and heal in ways they never thought possible. I hold on to hope and knowing what is possible for them until they can carry it for themselves. It is such a privilege to do this work.

I was a life coach working with people who struggled with diet and their bodies but my clients would enivitably share past traumas that were underneath the food challenges. Coaches are not trained to work with trauma unless they have a masters or higher level education in clinical psychology so I finally decided to go back to school. Private practice is a large undertaking but for the first time in my life, my work day is pulled by inspiration as opposed to pushed by necessity.

Choose me if you are looking for compassion, accountability and empowerment. I believe asking for help is a courageous act and finding the right fit is important. I believe in your infinite ability to accomplish your goals and I am committed to supporting you in that process. I offer a 20 minute free phone consultation so we can get to know each other a bit and see if we are the right fit for you.

Services

I offer individual therapy for adolescents and adults. I specialize in working with eating disorders, emotional eating, compulsive eating and body image issues and codependency. I offer trauma therapy using a practice called Brainspotting which has been shown to be effective for trauma, anxiety, depression, panic, phobias, creativity and performance blocks, addiction, cravings, compulsive behaviors and unprocessed grief.

Group psychotherapy is a powerful tool helping people improve their interpersonal relationships. It addresses feelings of isolation, depression or anxiety. And it helps people make significant changes so they feel better about the quality of their lives.

I currently offer a Women's Food and Mood group supporting women to come together and heal from emotional, compulsive and binge eating behaviors.

Mindfulness is a powerful tool for emotional regulation, stress reduction, improved well-being, improving concentration, and improving interpersonal relationships to name a few things. Mindful Self-Compassion is a tool for improving your relationship with yourself and others that increases resilience. Mindful eating is a practice that supports creating a healthy relationship with food and your body by tapping into your own internal cues about what to eat, when to eat and how much.

My coaching services begin with basic mindfulness and then can be tailored to meet your goals. Each session is customized to meet your needs and your life circumstances. If you already work with a therapist, I am happy to work together so that the practices we do together support the work you are already doing.

Mindfulness coaching is available in person or via video conferencing software.
