Honestly, it's been years since I've been to Corfu but I remembered some great times there and was excited to try it again. We went on a Friday for dinner as a group of six. It was surprisingly empty, there were only one other table of diners there. We were seated right away and proceeded to order. Unfortunately, two of the dishes we ordered, the lamb stew and the pork shoulder weren't available that evening. And the waitress working that evening was new-it was only her third day there. We ended up ordering instead a burger, chicken souvlaki platter, lamb gyro, pork souvlaki and befteki.  The standouts for me were the chicken and pork souvlaki. They were both very tasty and cooked right.  The platter came with some delicious rice and side of beans. I found the befteki a tad heavy handed with the spices. The first couple of bites were great but after awhile overwhelming in taste. We all said that the prices were noticeably higher than we remembered but still comparable to other restaurants in the neighborhood. We asked for extra pita bread and tzatziki sauce and were charged an extra $3!  Overall, our dinner wasn't too bad. Not sure if I'll be back soon though. More...

Whenever I want healthy food that is not expensive yet of high quality, I always go to Corfu.  Celebrating its 15th year, they know what to do.  Today I enjoyed proper greek salad, spinach pie, tatziki sauce, soup and fries at the lunch special for just $10.  Each of those four items averaged just $2.50 or less than the cost of an unhealthy slice of pizza.  A meatless meal that was very well made, for less than the price of many  cocktails. We were hoping to have Mediterranean fare for lunch and found Corfu. Set on an outdoor second level above busy Austin Street, and with the customary light blue and white accents and decor, Corfu feels inviting and breezy, kind of like Greece! Our meals, each being a $10 lunch deal, were perfectly cooked, seasoned, and of very ample size for a lunch. Service is VERY friendly and we did not mind that we had to wait a bit for our food; hoping that this meant it was being cooked to order. We appreciated that, seated close to the large, floor to ceiling windows, we felt like the inside dining space feels a part of the outdoor terrace (check out my accompanying photos!) More...

We came on a Friday early evening and it was quiet. We got seated immediately and server was really nice. They have happy hours Monday through Friday before 7 pm. Limited appetizers were 4 dollars and drinks were half off. We ordered few appetizers: fried zucchini, Greek sausage, spinach pie, cheese pie and hummus. For main, we ordered combo dinner 2 meats with rice, fava beans, lemon potato, salad, Greek flat bread; the choice of two meats: beef kebab and pernil. Fried zucchini had a lot of breading so it was not my favorite. We liked the cheese pie more than the spinach pie. Both pie were fluffy and crunchy. The meats: sausage, pernil and beef kebab were well season and their portion were generous. The pernil was a little dry, but the others were good Some dishes were good and some were not our favorite. I came here with a Groupon ($15 for $30 value) and I felt the food was worth it that way. My friend and I came here on a weekday so at around an 8pm dinner time there was no wait for a table. I read reviews that this restaurant is pet friendly, as long as you choose to sit on the outside patio and not indoors. The portions here are huge and for the price you pay it's well worth it; half my dinner entrée became my lunch the next day! There was only one wait staff working at the time and she was very polite and attentive for waiting on 5 other tables. They have a nice bar area that had their doors open on an upper terrace for the good summer weather. Tried a variety of meat skewers - chicken, lamb, gyro meat. It was all pretty juicy and flavorful. Falafel and spanakopita (traditional flaky spinach and cheese pie) were pretty good. Their hummus has great texture and is a little bit peppery adding a nice depth to it. Greek cuisine is a completely different world of happiness. The portions are massive, prices are dirt cheap AND if you're extra savvy you can really take advantage and use a Groupon. My figure conscious friend ordered a salad and I got this entrée which came with a salad AND ENTREE WITH IT. FOR ONE PRICE. That's 3 huge dishes which I just paid $15 for. This little Greek spot in a hidden gem. My co workers suggested we order Greek and when I saw the menu I said the price looks right so let's do it.  I ordered from the Lunch menu. Chicken Kebab with Greek Salad, chicken soup, rice, and pita bread with tzatziki sauce for the total of $8.75 including tax. Ok. The chicken is a hit or miss, sometimes it's nice and tender and sometimes it's way to dry. The Greek salad is perfect. The chicken soup is also a hit or miss but I really can't talk about it much  because as many times as I ordered here I only had it twice. Now the rice is just freaking sexy. It's something they put in the rice that make its delicious. Rice = perfection ( its has a little hint of  lemon taste and some really good seasoning in it. Pita bread is always good and warm, and I never tried the tzatziki sauce but my co workers love it. When I first started eating here it was delivery only. We did run into a couple of issues with that. One time we called around 11:30am and they told us they couldn't deliver until after 1pm. Another time they forgot the salad and sauce and another time they forgot the pita bread. Besides all those issues. Delivery is usually fast. The other day was my first time walking in the restaurant to order take out.The restaurant itself is very small but clean. It's a cute little spot and not noisy at all. We started with hummus and pita bread. The hummus was DELICIOUS, but we didn't have enough pita bread to eat it all with. Definitely one of my favorite affordable eats in the neighborhood! Serving up a range of Greek delicacies, I can always count on Corfu to bring some nice Mediterranean flavor whenever I desire. I don't eat here often, but when I do I am always left in a food coma. the only thing I don't like is that their main dishes come with an overload of carbs - not necessarily a flaw, but I would rather have a default salad option and order rice/lemon potatoes on the side. Their dolmas aren't the best I've had, but they are pretty darn delicious! I wish their were more local hot spots like Corfu that served dishes that weren't so common in the area. Their is a Greek restaurant further down the block, but it is more pricey. of you're on the broke college student income, then Corfu won't ruin your wallet's hopes and dreams. Came here with a friend (based on her 5 star recommendation) tonight and was impressed by the food. Service was off tonight, probably because it was so busy. We waited 10 minutes at the table and wondered where the heck the menu was, then ended up just flagging down a waiter to ask for one. There were 2 waiters here - one was new and another was experienced, but clearly overworked since he had to essentially do the work of two people. He was extraordinarily helpful with food and drink suggestions, and helped us in just about every way possible. I think his name was David? (honestly don't remember...).This guy was FANTASTIC!  Totally wowed by this guys superhuman multitasking ability and helpfulness. I felt sorry for him because the owner scolded him for not putting out the utensils for one table outside, but honestly the other person waiting tables just wasn't pulling her weight. At the end of the night, my friend and I tipped him 40% of the bill (standard is like 15%, but we felt that since he was doing the work of two people, he definitely deserved twice the tip. I honestly hope it isn't standard practice to split tips evenly with other staff here, because I seriously think he alone deserved the tip). Food aside, seriously I would return just because of his EXCELLENT customer service! :)The food was great! I got the Corfu combo of Souvlaki and Chicken Kebab, while my friend had something similar. The chicken kebab was good, but the souvlaki was undercooked and still pink inside (never had that happen anywhere before...uncooked pork - can someone say "trichinella?!"). It's fine though, because I took it to go and just decided to reheat/recook it at home. A bit sad that they ran out of lemon potatoes, but overall the salad, food, and drinks (yay Mythos!) were fantastic! But there were some minor issues - for example, got a glass that was streaky and dirty. Totally did not want to drink out of that. Drank my beer out the bottle instead of pouring it in. Didn't make a big deal about it because I figured it was a busy night and I'm not a fussy person. Aside from that, wish there were more authentic Greek dishes on the menu (come on, what's up with the falafel and hummus? This isn't a Middle Eastern restaurant!), but this isn't Astoria so whatever. Also, I LOVED the Greek music playing - gave the place a nice vibe. Overall, this is a great Greek restaurant for Forest Hills and I'd probably return again! More...

Corfu Grill is a small spot so you want to come during the off peak hours to ensure you get a table quickly. They have some great lunch specials and you get a generous amount of food for the price. Lunch specials include a salad as well as a soup and entree and a side. They recently also had a deal on Groupon too. I did read some of the other reviews but I had already purchased a groupon by then so I braved to check the place out anyway. I didn't see the owner everyone keeps mentioning but I did encounter two waiters and they were both equally nice. They checked on us frequently and at an intimate place like this you can always be sure you will receive personalized service. The other server was almost too efficient with the water refills. He came by literally every five minutes. I never once ran out of water but subsequent refills were a little warm due to lack of ice. The food was delicious. Our table ordered as follows. For soups we tried both the lentil and the chicken. The soup was pretty salty, particularly the chicken but I have no problem with that. The lentil was a little grainy. I was pulling our stems of spices out of my mouth. The broth could be strained a little better in the preparation process but the overall taste was just fine. For entrees we had Greek sausage with rice and Greek salad, chicken kebab with fries and marouli salad, and another chicken kebab with an additional side of fried chicken. They offer additional items for $4 a piece if you want to select more items from the specials. The fried chicken was breaded with bread crumbs so to me it kind of looked more in the style of baked chicken but it was indeed fried and the breading was well seasoned and crisp. The chicken kebabs were also well seasoned and grilled well with a nice char on the edges. The marouli salad was delicious, particularly the goat cheese they used but there was a little too much dill on it. The dill would be best served as a garnish rather than a topping. The Greek salad was on point, they even pitted the olives for you and some places don't bother to do that. The fries were definitely home made. You can tell real home made fries from frozen ones because home made fries usually have a very subtle sweetness to them and they are moister than pre-packaged frozen ones because they are fresh. They weren't too crisp but they did taste good. The sausage is made out of pork if anyone is curious and you get two pieces and they are sliced down the middle before they are grilled. We ordered some baklava and the piece was a bit on the small side. It was shaped triangularly and slathered in syrup which is completely unnecessary. If you have a nice good fresh piece of baklava you don't need any other toppings. They were also out of ice cream and only had one other dessert available besides the baklava so I feel the restaurant can vastly improve in the dessert department. Until then when I return I'll just skip dessert. Overall the meal was good and I had a pleasant experience dining here. I will definitely return to order the chicken kebabs again and may be try a few more items on the menu. More...
