From the moment we met Paul and Dangis we knew we were on to a winner! They compliment each other really well and they made us feel so at ease from the word go. Nothing has been too much trouble and their communication is unreal - they always get back to us and no matter how many times we called / text - they always had patience and a sense of humour ! But above all - we love our house! We had a loft and an extension and both have been incredibly done and on time ( if not quicker than planned) . The quality and finish is brilliant , all of the tradesman that they have working for them are excellent. We were terrified of entering into this process as we have heard such horror stories but their business is run so well that we have never had to worry ! After deciding that we wanted some extra space for the kids, we decided on having our loft converted into a bedroom/play den for them.
For this we got quotes from a number of companies and Clapham Construction Service had given us a good one as well as assurance on time and quality. This came from their free consultation, which was a bit more than a salesman coming around for 10 mins and just email a price over days later, like a couple of companies.
The workers always turned up on time, the work itself was done as planned, there were a few minor glitches, but we were quickly informed of them and they got rectified with no hassle. The kids are delighted, and they even made us video for us when the build was completed showing the stages on the works, which the kids all loved, as it was aimed at them.
Really lovely, family friendly company and fun to work with.

Excellent service from start to finish from CC service. Perfect quality we couldn’t be happier. Our manager was great keeping us up to date every single week and did great job finishing a great new room in a loft at such short time.
Our final cost was as close as possible to the Estimate.
We did have to alter few changes but they were helpful with all the changes we needed to implement and always made aware of any cost difference before we went ahead and made the changes.
I would definitely recommend CC Service to all my friends.

How can someone tell if their loft is suitable for conversion?
You will need to consider a few elements to answer this question:
1) The existing head height
2) The current Pitch of the roof
3) The internal roof structure
4) Where the new staircase will go
4) Internal elements in the way such as water tanks or a chimney.
The current head height needs to be around 2m from joist to roof, but there are some exceptions to this. The roof pitch will also have an impact on the eventual head height as the higher the pitch the higher the central standing space and the eventual usable floor space you will have. Try standing in the middle of the current loft and image a new floor, ceiling and insulation this should give you an idea (again there are aways around smaller head rooms). The way the roof was constructed has an impact as well as if the timber trusses or supports are criss-crossed throughout the loft it may cause an issue, normally these can be worked around by building a new structure, but it is more involved and can cost a bit more to complete, the same goes for any obstacles such as water tanks and chimneys, that may need to be moved or relocated. Finally the new stairs needs to go in to join your existing floor with the loft, this can take additional space downstairs.

Run us through the different stages in the loft conversion process - what’s involved?
The loft conversion, when we build, always starts with a free consultation. This meeting is designed to discuss with you, your wants and needs. The feasibility of the works or any project, factors to consider and a full specification quote. If you take our design and build package we will instruct our architect to draft you a set of plans to maximise the space and meet your expectations. This will be submitted to the planning department at the local authority. Once thats started we will set-up your property to undertake the works and start the structure. We use bespoke schedules for each build but to give you an idea of the stages these are normally the main phases of the build:
1) Structural works (Steels, joists, floors, carpentry, stairs and brickwork) - including the new additions
2) First fix plumbing and electrical works
3) Roofing works and waterproofing
4) Windows and doors installation
3) Insulation, plaster boarding and energy ratings
4) 2nd Fix plumbing and electrical works
5) 2nd Fix carpentry works
6) Tiling and flooring
7) 3rd Fix Plumbing
8) Any snagging
9) Completion Paperwork
