What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Light! I'm predominantly a natural light photographer as this translates well to food. I love to tell stories through food as it's something we all have an emotional attachment to.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Who are your target audience? What is your style? Where will your photos feature? When would you like to start?
What do you love most about your job?
I love meeting people who are passionate about what they do. I enjoy having the opportunity to get involved with the client and taking what they create to a wider audience...and trying some amazing food along the way!
What inspired you to start your own business?
Food and photography have been always been my passions. In the late nineties I studied Fine Art Photography at the Glasgow School of Art, qualifying with a BA Honours degree. After that I followed my nose into the kitchen, first working in then managing a variety of successful eateries. Over the piece I've gained 20 years experience in the catering trade. With my artistic training and years of catering experience, the combination of the two disciplines seemed like a natural progression.
Why should our clients choose you?
I get the job done! After years of working in busy kitchens, I fully understand the industry. I understand food and how it translates onto camera. I stay up to date on trends and what people react to. I have a great work ethic and aim to offer a full service from initial contact to file delivery.
