What do you love most about your job?
Working with clients over the longer term.
Its satisfying meeting a client, often with a collection of savings and assets and then drawing that into a financial plan or an investment portfolio. Seeing that plan evolve, work, and fund our clients lifestyle and ambitions is very rewarding and many of our relationships span generations.
On the investment side it is just fascinating. Its a job that you never master or ever get bored with as there are always new pockets of value to explore or market moves to exploit.
What inspired you to start your own business?
City Asset Management was established in 1988 by the Coghill family to deal with the complex needs of private clients and their wealth. Over the past 30 years we have developed our services and today our clients range from private individuals, families, charities, pension funds through to corporate bodies and trusts. The firm remains privately owned, mainly by the working directors and staff, which maintains our focus on clients’ and their longer term needs. We are proud to be unencumbered by external shareholders and the associated conflicts of interest that might arise. Our staff bring a blend of varied expertise and innovation that together drive us forward. The continuity in our experienced senior staff provides our clients with stability and ensures our values endure.
