Excellent Try this place!!!
Love this place. Very cozy. I like the good vibe here. Good service and good food as well, just a little bit over price but it's worth a good dining experience and with great ambiance. Definitely will be back sometime. This place is also good for romantic dates (it feels like it but I didn't come here for a date). Make sure to come in before the big crowd to get a table for two (small party). Unfortunately they don't take advance reservations for two, but they can accommodate you based on availability upon arrival. The bar is open seating, that's an option too. More...
Great place, nice staff.
Great food & wine, and September outdoor seating is fantastic
My friend and I came here for dinner on a Tuesday around 6PM. There were plenty of seats when we arrived but the restaurant filled up very quickly. I recommend making a res if you can. We were not able to and decided to take a chance. There are many tables that are separate stand alone tables, but there is also a long familiar style set up in the middle of the restaurant. My friend and I were seated there. It was a little close to the people next to you but not super uncomfortable. More...
Charlie Bird did not disappoint whatsoever!! We started out sharing some small plates, then we each ordered an appetizer and an entree.. I got the little gems salad with a buttermilk dressing.. simple, yummy, and tasty!! For an entree I moved to the ribeye off the bone.. only complaint: the serving size was more for 2 people, I couldn't finish the dish. Lol. Not really a complaint. I liked the vibe of the restaurant, the crowd was interesting. Service was spot on, not rushed and not slow.. the wine we had was great too. More...
If you are considering this iconic place, it’s worth it. We ate al fresco. The bronzino is not to be missed. The fish is served whole with crispy and flavor that keeps developing layers of flavors in your mouth. The cappelletti was delicious. The burrata is prepared with asparagus and pine nuts; divine! The service was impeccable. Great location and cozy dining. Some of the best plates we've had recently in NYC. Service was excellent. Don't miss the Farro salad More...
Hip, bi-level spot featuring Italian-accented New American fare, wine & art featuring boomboxes.
Service was excellent, food was amazing and great atmosphere!
This is a must-eat if you spend any time between SoHo and Greenwich! The food is prepared with such attention to detail - it is clear they take a lot of pride in their craft. We tried several plates and each was better than the last. Don't forget to save room for desert and be sure to order an Americano to go with it. Most of all we loved to staff. They were incredibly friendly and helpful - we were treated like family. This was my first time visiting Charlie Bird but it will not be my last! More...
Absolutely superb. The service and wine selection is stellar. One of the best meals I’ve had in NYC. Highly recommend.
Delicious food and drinks. We had the Sicilian eggplant, the cacio e Pepe and the black bass. All three were excellent and very tasty. Their drinks menu is good too. Highly recommend sitting outside while the weather is good. More...
I had the opportunity to meet the Chef himself, Chef Ryan Hardy. His passion for food, the love he has for customers and New York is enough for me to make this one of my favorite Italian / Mediterranean restaurants in the city. But once i tried his signature dishes, made everything come full circle. Simply Amazing! Everything i had was made with perfection. Even more, at times he walks through and greets his customers. FromThe sexy night time ambiance, to the music it's a great place for a nice romantic dinner or even if you just want to sit at the bar and have a few drinks. If you're ever in SOHO, please come to Charlie Bird, you will not be disappointed. More...
An excellent lunch special with Lori Mendorff Klugman. A very pleasant surprise! Faro and Gem salads were excellent. Carbonara was very nice : pasta cooked perfectly as was crispy pancetta, conservatively cheesed and nice egg yolk. This is one of the better Carbonara's we had in the US. Cocktails and wine list not extensive but adequate. The gnocchi were disappointing and returned. We certainly would recommend and return. Food 8.5 , Service 8 and value 8.5. Btw: 2 course lunch is 32 dollars. More...
good food and ambiance. the prices are kinda high but worth it. the food is good quality as so for the service
Great place for our first night dinner @ the big Apple!!
Went for brunch on a Sunday and it was not too busy - service was lovely and food was excellent. Music is great too. Nice vibes. We ordered the Gem Lettuce Salad, Octopus, Carrots, Chicken Liver, Crab Spaghetti and Crispy Bass - all delightful. Also really enjoyed the Vodka Basil cocktail!! More...
The summer panzanella salad!!!!! That’s all I need to say. It kills me that it’s only seasonal. Best dish ever. Also best foccaccia I’ve ever had and the crab pasta is really good.
The food is aight BUT O BOY IF THAT CHOCOLATE CAKE WITH THE CRISPYS AND ICE CREAM ISNT PURE CRACK
2nd visit. After 4 years. Exactly how I remember it. Was an evening visit for coffee and drinks. 4 of us.Inside was too loud, a cacophony. We sat outside. Service was excellent. Love the wine glasses here with the thinnest of stems. Overall it was okay this time. The coffee was almost cold. Had to send it back. The replacement wasn't warm either. More...
My husband brought me to Charlie Bird for my Birthday & although I was scared of what the menu had to offer I am actually looking forward to going again. The atmosphere is amazing as well as the choice of music. The servers and hosts are great as well More...
Had a fantastic dinner experience. I started at the bar for a glass for wine. The bartender was extremely knowledgeable and recommended a wine for us. We then moved to our table. The server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and gave us great suggestions. Based on the reviews I read on the restaurant, the menu changed but we had some great dishes. They were out of razor clams, but we had the soft shell crab, octopus, Farro salad, cacio e Pepe and the cavatelli. We had no room for dessert, but maybe next time. Would highly recommend!! More...
I have lived in NYC for 7 years and eat out frequently and was blown away by the quality of food and level of service at Charlie Bird. I came here with my parents and brother for my mom's birthday tonight, and it was easy to hear one another while still having a fun atmosphere. We shared most things on the menu and literally every single thing was out of this world incredible. The service is also above and beyond. The host and waiter treated us extremely well, and out of the 3 couples at the table, every one of us said we couldn't wait to come back.Thank you for a wonderful, special evening Charlie Bird. The Charlie Bird folks really know how to treat customers right! We had the prix fixe lunch today (one small plate, one pasta). My farro salad was fantastic, but I found the tonnarelli cacio e pepe to be too salty. I was pretty full from the very generously sized farro salad, so chalked it up to a bad match with the chef's style (though I actually think the cheese was so salty perhaps the pasta water shouldn't have been salted). The waiter saw I hadn't eaten much pasta, asked if I wanted it packed up to take home, and when I declined, asked if it had been okay. I said it was too salty for me, and he apologized profusely, asking if I wanted it remade. I said no thanks, then ordered the chocolate cake dessert extravaganza (which was to DIE for), and when he brought it, the waiter announced it was on the house. Very nice! But then to top it off, when he brought our bill, he said he'd taken the major portion of my meal off entirely!!!! That was totally unnecessary, and I protested, but he insisted. All I paid for was the farro salad, though of course I tipped appropriately. So the meal wasn't perfect, but I left with a very warm fuzzy feeling, and won't hesitate to return. I'm also happy to report that the music, though not to my taste, was at a low enough volume that it didn't interfere with conversation and could be easily ignored. More...
Great vibe, nice outdoor seating and must try fries and chicken. Share everything to get lost out of it
Pricey but very very good
One of my absolute favorite restaurants in NYC. Home of great food and wine in a relaxed and comfortable setting.
Food and service was very good and there's a nice wine list. Things are a bit expensive though. One of the wines by the glass was $20.
Dining at Charlie Bird's was an excellent experience. Service was great, the Cacio e Pepe was fantastic and I highly recommended the chocolate cake with olive oil ice cream and caramelized rice crispies.
Wonderful food and service, everything was delicious and fresh. I would definitely go back!
New favorite place. Please get the branzino
BRUNCH ON A SUNNY SATURDAY AFTERNOON was an excellent moment to visit the normally hopping Charlie Bird, a grand place for stylish pasta and small dishes punching way over weight in terms of flavor and mouth feel. The room is casual but fitted out with a display of old-school broadcast microphones and leather dining chairs that encourage lingering over an espresso. More...
Charlie Bird is a delicious Italian restaurant that plays DMX hits from the '90s while you eat. That's it in a nutshell. They play hip hop somewhat loudly and serve delicious Italian food. Service was friendly and efficient. The raw oysters were well shucked, the octopus was tasty, and the cacio e pepe was addictively good. I tried some other things, but those stood out to me. The cocktails were good, too. Recommended! More...

Ambiance fort sympathique, repas et desserts de qualité pour un prix raisonnable.
Great food and good vibes.
First, I have to say we got a great table and two glasses of Prosecco because we booked through Capital One! Besides that, I can’t remember the last time my wife and I had such a great meal in NY and I am born and raised her and work in hospitality. The service was A+ and so was the food. Everything from the Hamachi Crudo and the soft shell crab to the fava bean, crudo salads to crispy chicken. The sommelier, Eric, was equally amazing and recommended a amazingly bottle of Occhipinti. Took a friend which she cameFrom London to this nice spot - evening was amazing- food , wine and service- awesome
A delightful dining experience! Every dish was unique, fresh and tasty. What going out should be - a memorable meal
We came as a party of 2. Yes reservations are hard to get but definitely worth the effort! They have outside tables but this day was too hot for that. Not sure if they reserve those for walk ins?Beets: 4 stars, pretty good. I would recommend. Octopus: I didn't care for the sauce so much. Octopus itself was good. 3 stars. Pasta: we got the one with sausage. Really good, 5 stars. Rib eye? Def some sort of beef, off the bone: 4 stars but the sauce and small side were really good, so 5 starsDessert chocolate cake with olive oil ice cream/gelato & Rice Krispies: amazing. Five stars. I could have had so many of these. For two people we got two small plates, a pasta, a main, and a dessert. So yes, if you just get a pasta, you may still be hungry. This is a try-a-bunch-of-things type of place. So, 4+ stars. I would highly recommend (oh and the music is good too!) but will try other places before attempting to come back. More...
Finally visited this place some time back with the lady.Had the chicken liver and the razor clams to start. Both were the standouts of the meal for me. Just a touch of iron taste was present in the liver, but the mousse and the toasts were delicious. Razor clams were super fresh and refreshing. We also got the cacio e pepe and the chicken to share. Cacio e pepe was fine and so was the chicken. Because they are known for their pastas and wine list, I'd love to come back to try their other dishes to compare my first experience. More...

Charlie Bird remains one of my favorite restaurants after many years in SoHo. They have 3 of my favorite things - Razor Clams, Hamachi and Oysters. I have the razor clams and hamachi every time I go. And the wine selection is fabulous as well. More...
A delightful experience. Ordered the Coppa & Fava and the Burrata for our table, the Cacio e Pepe for my main, and the warm chocolate cake and strawberry panacotta for desserts. The pasta was nothing short of incredible (who can resist perfectly-peppered and parmesan drenched rustic style noodles). The small plates, while small (duh), offered a well rounded serving of all their components. Not a cheap meal by any means, but for the painstaking care put into the menu and its the execution, the decor, and the service, Charlie Bird is damn well worth every penny. More...
Fish was amazing, steak was amazing, pasta was amazing. My favorite was the octopus.
I didn’t even know there was a “King Street”, but glad I found it, as well as Charlie Bird’s restaurant. An enjoyable night (was in a private dining room, but the main restaurant was equally relaxed and enjoyable). Excellent service, interesting menu options and worth the walk and find! More...
Charlie Bird was an excellent restaurant with great food and exceptional service. My wife and I shared an appetizer of chicken liver mousse which was excellent. My wife had Tonarelli ca io e pepe and I had agnolotti with spring peas and morels. Both pastas excellent. Cacio e pepe was as good as what we had in Rome, no offense to Rome. Agnolotti was handled beautifully. Drank Pinot Noir which went well with the app and both entrees. But, Carlos, our waiter, was polite, informative, friendly, charming, and seemed to have a keen appreciation for and knowledge of the food and seemed to enjoy diners as well. More...

Major excellent. Can't match the experience downtown. Or midtown. Or anywhere I know.
Excellent food and service. The desserts are to die for. If you are in NY, don't miss a chance to have lunch or dinner. You won't be disappointed.

Great food and service. Both, the bursts and octopus are great. One of our favorites is the mushroom and truffle pasta dish; I don't recall the name of it, but it's really good. The grilled octopus is probably my favorite small plate. I really dig the polenta too. Service has always been good; no issues at all. More...
I work in Soho and this is my client lunch and dinner go to. Food is like a good friend that is so pretty but doesn't wear a ton of makeup and is gorgeous without trying to hard. Great service! Enjoy outside seating ! More...

I highly recommend any pasta on the menu, the small plate of octopus is the best!!! And the cocktails are amazing! Great service and ambience!!!
Friends took me there for my 54th bday dinner. We were seated within 10 minutes without a reservation. The lamb was delicious my friends had the brass which they both enjoyed.
Hip-hop and fine food...a rare combination that's hard to find disagreeable. However...The booze selection is remarkably limited. Two choices for whiskey. Two.The prices are high for what you get. The apps are your best bet. The beet salad and chicken liver pate stood out. But for $45 the fried chicken entree is a huge letdown. The service is adequate. The atmosphere is clean, the music fantastic for hip-hop fans, and not too loud.Overall okay, but I hoped for better. More...

Charlie Bird has a really amazingly curated menu from the wine to the large plates.I love to go for the sea trout (which is to die for) and while I've eaten a lot of good burrata in my life, Charlie Bird's is The. Best!Being pescatarian, there is always enough options, and they've even coordinated making some things vegan for friends. The company seems to pay a lot of attention to working with local/sustainable foods- which naturally is important to me. They even posted about their carbon footprint that they're offsetting by choosing renewable energy for this an Pasquale Jones. Its a well trained team they've got and they're all behind the mission of presenting quality products in a quality way More...

A limited but excellent menu. Friendly staff. Good wines selection.
Thanks to the chef and staff for asking us caviar courier welcomed.
Great food, very precise. Staff was perhaps too attentive, was trying to have a quiet dinner and was constantly reached out by staff, to the point I had to ask them to stop reaching out (didn't help).
Best service...superb food...duck liver was amazing!...Pasta was incredible!
Great food, nice atmosphere.
Good food and great service
Delicious food, and cool environment. we loved it! Thumbs up!

I don't know how this place doesn't have 5 stars. On top of the food being absolutely incredible, the service and atmosphere is great. Sure it's a little on the pricey side, but you wouldn't go to a place like this for a "cheap meal". We got the burratta, fries, caccio Pepe and gnocchi. All 10/10. The only thing I found somewhat overpriced is the wine but you pay for quality. Definitely recommend. More...

We came for drinks on a Tuesday evening Greenwich Village walkabout, and on such a beautiful day! Our bartender made us a delicious couple of cocktails (Pink Cadillac and The Last Word) and both were awesome! I like gin but don't LOVE gin and the last word is a gin drink I would order again and again, especially on a beautiful, sunny day like today! Reviews are great on this place and just by the drinks, I see why! We will definitely be back for a proper dinner sometime soon this summer More...
So happy to find this NY gem! We had a reservation for dinner for four on a Friday night and had a really great experience. The staff was super friendly and very helpful with our menu selections. Have to give an extra shout out to Tim, the sommelier, who is so knowledgeable and suggested several wines to pair with our food. We absolutely loved the choices and definitely recommend you let him guide your experience! We basically ordered half the menu and it was so worth it. -Razor clams and scallops were good to try out, probably the only things we wouldn't order again-Fluke was SO tender, very good-Grilled Octopus and potatoes, delicious and cooked really well-Cacio e Pepe was truly incredible. Must order! My bf and I shared but I would definitely not share again because we were fighting for every bite. -Black Bass was the highlight of the meal. Our server suggested that over the branzino we were initially going to order and OMG. Amazing. -Brussel sprouts and carrots...vegetable sides have never been so good. Seriously the best cooked carrots we've ever had! Can't wait to check this place out again. More...

Completely classy version of Hip-Hip Culture and a white-washed name minus the diversity. Must visit if you love fine wine and want to visualize appropriation. This restaurant is the perfect place for Culture Vultures and appropriators to eat drink and without the inconvenience of dining next to people of color. Fine wine, delicious focaccia bread and a delicious yet pretentious and overpriced menu (tiny portions) complement this beautifully problematic establishment. The name of the restaurant according to the staff is NOT inspired by the Black musical legend but rather "New York" lol. Definitely something to witness if you visit NYC and or even live here. The not only did they play Hip-Hop only, but it's also explicit. There were no people of color in sight, except for the staff (not surprised). I dined here in utter confusion but not shocked as this is a prime example of white-washing. More...

We came here with another couple for dinner on a Friday night and had a great experience. In summary, the food was excellent and management was wonderful. We had an issue where one of our side dishes didn't arrive with our food, so they comped the item for us without question and we ended up getting 2 of it because the kitchen had made 2 by accident. They also gave us a free dessert. The razor clams were very good. I personally don't like fennel but I did not get a licorice flavor in my bites. The beets were amazing as was the cacio e pepe, which I had never had with rigatoni before. I don't particularly like lamb but had a bite of it and thought it was very tender and well prepared (though still lamby for me). I found the grilled fish to be cooked very well and was nice and flakey. It's fairly difficult to get a reservation here, but I will definitely be back! More...
Amazing cocktails and lovely food. This place is always packed so come in time or be prepared to sit at the bar.
It is a delicious upscale Italian restaurant. The service is very kind and will make things to your whim even if it is not on the menu. I consider myself to be a foodie and this place satisfied my cravings. Though I was a tourist, I felt like a New Yorker because the place had such a local feel and there were nothing any noisy families. However, this is an upscale place and a dinner for four with wine will cost you around 300 dollars plus tip. Not a place to eat frugally!! The price is respectable though as the food is very fancy and had perfect portion sizes. I recommend the whole branzino with the burrata appetizer. For dessert I recommend anything as all they have is delicious. My one complaint is that the music is slightly overpowering and can make it hard to hear. More...

If you are in the mood for excellent food, but also in the mood to keep it casual, go to Charlie Bird. The grain bowl was a show stopper. More...
I followed Charlie Bird on Instagram for months before my visit. The pasta pics were beautiful and inviting so I had to see for myself. I dined with my adult daughter and 2 of her friends. Reservations are definitely recommended. The setting is intimate but seating isn't crowded. Dining has a hip vibe with a long bar in the main dining room and "bumping" background music (but not too loud). An extensive wine list is available as well as specialty drinks. The food menu is limited but has varied choices. Small plates for the table: fresh raw oysters, burrata, and citrus salad-plenty for all of us and tasty. Main dishes: cacio e pepe, gnocchi, and a pasta with a sausage bolognese sauce. All had wonderful flavors-none were too "saucy" or "over powering" seasoning. Desserts: poached pears and another dish with chocolate and cream. Both were delicious! All potions were ample. Service was attentive and friendly. Dark, intimate ambience with a hip vibe. Fun for dinner with friends. More...
Wonderful small restaurant. Biggest surprise was the very sophisticated wine list. I preordered a Chassagne Montrachet and it was delivered chilled as soon as we sat down. Meals were exquisite. Had a nicely seasoned pasta with a leek starter. I am a visitor, so I don't know if you consider this Soho, but sort of a hidden gem on King Street. It is small and we had a late lunch. Suspect it difficult to get dinner reservations. Very nice and engaging staff. To reiterate, finding a wine list like this in a small locale is so much fun. More...
Cool vibe with old school hip hop and exceptional Italian food. The atmosphere is one of a kind at Charlie bird, dim lighting w/candle lit table, chill music, and friendly staff. Came for my birthday with my husband and overall one of the best meals I’ve had in the city. I took off one star because both of the pastas we had came out served cold to lukewarm which was disappointing. Drinks: great selection of wines so we shared a bottle. I also tried the vodka basil cocktail that’s on the brunch menu and was very good. Food: Bay scallop from the raw bar (strong fish flavor) and baked clams were both great. Pasta we did the special with truffle and mushrooms as well as the pappardelle with beef short rib ragu - again the flavors were great but temperature that it was served at was disappointing. Lamb was phenomenal. Dessert was molten lava cake and olive oil gelato - a must have! More...

Great drinks and delicious food. The modern decor was very nice
We visited Charlie Bird for brunch on a Sunday and were delighted with service and atmosphere in this cozy but sunny restaurant. The menu is somewhat limited, especially for vegetarians, but I would strongly recommend starting with the burrata with squash. The rigatoni cacio e pepe is phenomenal and I suggest that you ask for some chilli oil as well as their house baked bread. The dessert completely stole the show - a budino served with olive oil gelato on a rice krispie crumble which is one of the best I've had in Manhattan. The restaurant is unfortunately on the pricier side, expect to pay 50$ a head without alcohol More...

A day after Thanksgiving my husband and I met my daughter for a late lunch. Food is truly well prepared and presented. I recommend not sitting by the window, a bit drafty. More...
My wife and I recently celebrated our wedding anniversary at Charlie Bird and the entire experience was top notch. The service, food, and wine are truly exceptional. Always an enjoyable atmosphere, great music, and the food never disappoints.
Awesome private dining option. Must order: Farro salad.
Amazing meal and wonderful staff. Gnocchi Rosa is stellar.
Worth the wait, I've never had table bread as delicious as the table bread served here, everything we ordered was top notch, the kitchen staff was polite, highly recommended.
The food at Charlie Bird is simple, but elegant. I so enjoyed the Burrata appetizer, which was super fresh and delicious. And the Rigatoni Cacio e Pepe blew me away. Though the portion was ample, I could have eaten two or three servings just because it was so tasty! Service was decent, though the table space is tight which makes the intimate nature of the restaurant just a little too close for comfort with your neighbors. More...
The best!!! Food, wine, service. Love this place.
We didn't have a reservation and they were able to accomodate 5 of us immediately . The service was great. Food was delicious. At the end of dinner the waiter, accidentally dropped the water bottle on the floor . They were so apologetic and to our surprise they deducted the drinks from our bill . Thumbs up to this great customer service !!!!!!!! More...
Great wine selection and good vibe. Get the pasta and chocolate cake. Not cheap.
The place is spectacular. Great food, we had wagyu, agnolotti w lemon zest and - to simply put it - the best budino I've ever had. Wine was grt too. CB is a guaranteed hit. More...
So. Delicious. Definitely recommend!
Food was delicious and service was great. My one constructive feedback is that my food came out cold. The may want to do a quality check beforehand. Otherwise everything was great.
Perfect. Wine, wine glass, food (farro salad, scallops)--excellent! Nice patio and rap music--great experience!! Love!
Food is amazing! Great atmosphere.
Fantastic restaurant, in every way. The wine list has options on it that you can't find anywhere else. The food menu is killer, it was wide ranging without being overwhelming. Everything was perfectly done & presentation was spot on. Service was exceptional, waitstaff was attentive without being overbearing. We sat outside and enjoyed every moment of the entire experience. I look forward to coming back soon. More...
Good food. Great service
It's tasty for sure, but expensive.
Great food and atmosphere. Service is excellent as well. Can be very crowded and loud, but worth the wait.
Nice wine list, outdoor seating a bit too noisy
The pasta was amazing, I wish we would have ordered all 5! Excellent wine list. Overall we had a great experience, and I would return.
The tagliatelle verde is divine, truly setting itself apart from other pastas
Trendy place, neat space, good Italian-American ish menu, fun wine list and good hospitality. Loud though if you are looking to have an intimate conversation.
I go to dinner often for work and personal. This is my favorite restaurant. Also, if you have a private event or business dinner, this place has the best private room.
I loved everything about this place, exept the hip-hop
#1 restaurant in NYC
Cool place. Excellent food and drinks.Has attractive outdoor dining. Small menu, small portions and pricey!
Amongst the best pasta dishes I've had anywhere, really good interesting wine list for you wine nerds, with some genuinely interesting options at the cheaper end of the spectrum.
Nice cozy restaurant. Cocktails are delicious and delicate. It’s gourmet so don’t expect to be full at all but it’s all plates are flavorful. Got the crudo and the home made funghi fettuccini that was delicious. Is a litttle overpriced. More...
I thoroughly enjoyed Charlie Bird. I'll make it a goal to stop back by and try their amazing wine selection
Great food, wine and service.
Lunch specials here are the best. 32 dollars for an app and pasta dish. Haven't been here for dinner but the menu does look pricier than what I would want.
Ristorante italiano semplice ma buonissimo
Great restaurant amazing service
Excellent food, excellent service, and a fun restaurant. Upscale food with a casual restaurant feel. Excellent farro salad, burrata, brussel sprouts, and pasta. We are tourists that looked for a fun local spot and this one we will certainly return to! More...
I can say "oh myyy" a beautiful place to go with exelente food and atmosphera for special occasions or enjoy while the weather it's good and they put tables outside.
Simple, beautiful, delicious. Impressed by the sublety and restraint of the dishes we are. Salads were small but satisfying. Everything tasted very fresh.
Food and drinks were terrific, but what made the experience really fantastic was the manager, Kristen. She provided us with great insight into the neighborhood and told us about some of her favorite spots around the city. When the meal was all said and done, it started pouring and like the tourists we were, we didn't prepare for rain. Kristen noticed this and swooped in an umbrella without us ever mentioning or asking her. Highly recommend and will be back. More...
Fatastic,a wonderful dinner in a greater setting.
We had a really delicious 3rd wedding anniversary dinner here. The staff were really helpful when it come the menu and wine list. I found the prices very reasonable too. The desserts were a let down (only two dull options). I would recommend this as a great date spot or for a gathering with friends. More...
Delicious. We had some great apps, and the main courses including the pastas were really good. I would definitely return.
Slightly obsessed with this place. Don’t hesitate. Everything is scrumptious!
Charlie Bird is phenomenal. We recently went to Charlie Bird with a group of 12 and did not have a reservation. We took a shot in the dark to see if we would be able to get a table. The girls in the front were very accommodating, even though it was a long shot, they still humored us and asked if it would be possible to get a table. When they returned, they did agree to sit us and were very polite the whole time! The atmosphere in Charlie Bird was fantastic, the food is amazing and the service tied it together. If in New York City, Charlie Bird is a must if you are looking for a place to eat. Lastly, I would like to thank Kristen who was very involved with our group and made our dining experience even more pleasurable. More...
Muy delicioso todo la atención y el servicio super nice
Went for Lunch and had the pre fix menu! Food and Drinks were delicious and location is perfect !
Omg the food
Great services, especially Roger's food is incredible!
Great food, great wine.
So many tasty options and fantastic wine list.
Delicious appetizers, all very elegant and delicious
Best meal I've had in a while. Small plates are amazing. You really can't go wrong with anything you order
Great food, great music, great service, great vibe.
Precioso diseño y buen café. La botella de agua del grifo muy chula y los baños con papel para todo. Muy amable el personal.
Great Farro Salad and Gnocchi! Fantastic atmosphere and really nice staff! Just love it!
מסעדה מעולה אוכל קל מצד אחד אבל עם עומק של טעמים רחב מאוד. משלים את זה מקום יפה עם אווירה טובה. קשה להשיג מקום שווה להתאמץ!!! More...
Really great food. A hidden gem. Highly recommended!
Warm Chocolate Budino
Delicious pasta, lovely atmosphere. Had a beautiful glass of wine over lunch. Well recommended
Great food. Great interior. Service was on point. I was here for lunch and there wasn't a large crowd. I highly recommend this place if you're in the area.
Awesome place for lunch...32 dollar special is a great deal...fantastic place to eat outside and you can usually get a table outside for lunch
Charlie want there but the food is great and the whiskey sour a treat
Had a nice dinner with friends here, food was delicious I tried and shared the roast beef. Olive oil gelato was quite a surprise. Good service. Pricey.
Never tasted food like this!
I am really confused about the negative reviews. I LOVED this place. We had excellent service starting with the 2 hostesses we encountered when we entered the restaurant to our waitress Eunice who was so cool. While bobbing our heads to a great mix of hip hop we started out with the burrata and diver scallops that were both very good. Actually, the diver scallops were amazing! In addition to our apps, they also bring warm focaccia bread for the table. The bread was so good, that we requested another serving. For our main courses, we had the crispy farm chicken, summer spaghetti with lobster, zucchini, and basil, zucchini blossoms, and cacio e pepe. While I am not huge on chicken, this dish was excellent as was the spaghetti. The cacio e pepe was made with rigatoni and it was good, but it's usually best with spaghetti. For dessert, we had the chocolate budino and it was a great way to end the evening. Cocktails were great, music was great, service was great....what is there to complain about? I will definitely be back. More...
Good food and excellent service.
Wish I can live 5 blocks from there... not 5 hours! If I have to be a restaurant owner one day...this is the place! Cheers!
The ambiance here is great. If you're looking for piano music and lots of elbow room, this place isn't gong to suit you. But if you're looking for very solid food and a good wine list, friendly service, and tons of great hip hop music in a stylish space, you'll love Charlie Bird! More...
I was treated to dinner here a week ago and I haven't stopped dreaming about the suckling pig since. It was amazing. Also amazing was the wine, the cheese, the pasta, the dessert, basically everything. I can't wait to come back!!!
Baller spot, dishes are delicious.
Amazing. Delicious. Hospitable. Next level. Can’t say enough good about the food and the staff. Word made it all the way to Alabama! Thank you for a great evening!!!
Amazing food. Great music and fun atmosphere.

Absolutely delicious. If you enjoy your food cooked to perfection with the right herbs and seasonings; this is an outstanding choice. My daughter had the crispy chicken and it was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I enjoyed the frittata and the waiter noticed the lack of chives (as indicated on the menu) and had someone bring some. - delicious. Inside and outside seating in the west village. Even the coffee was served at a wonderful temperature- hot but not scalding. More...
Delicious dinner! Great spot downtown with nice views. The outdoor seating is awesome for summer. It was my first time but definitely not last! All the pastas and roses were great! More...
Really enjoyed dinner here. Appetizers were a major MAJOR highlight and entrees were solid. For apps we had the diver scallops, razor clams, chicken liver, and burrata. All excellent but everyone especially loved the clams and, not surprisingly based on reviews, the chicken liver. Not sure all 5 of us would have agreed to order that one if not for the reviews. As my entree I had the pasta special which was bucatini (I think!) with lobster and I forget what else. It was enjoyable, just not overly inspired. I tasted my friend's cappelletti and it was also solid. But judging by the reviews and the chicken liver app, maybe the chicken entree really is the way to go! I just have trouble ordering chicken as an entree, but I realize that can occasionally be a mistake. None of us ordered it :(Liked the atmosphere too. Fun and playing some hip hop. Would go back! Shady and lucky partner for the evening strolled into C.B after seeing an off b'way magic show called In and Of Itself-highly reco'd. Sitting on a stoop around the corner from C.B was NY legend Patti Smith-a real New York moment. Enough of that now, off to the food..Seated in the upstairs portion of the restaurant, Shady quickly tore into a bottle of fine Bruna Italian white. with the much ballyhooed rap music playing in the background(not obtrusive at all), Shady and lucky lucky guest ordered up the famous C.B farro salad and the octopus as starters. The farro was all that it is made out to be. Shady literally shoveled as much as he could take while washing it down with the Bruna. For mains, the gluttonous twosome kept it simple and hit two pastas-cavatelli campidanese(sausage, kale and saffron ragu) and the spaghetti(w/ lobster ,zucchini and basil). Both were excellent, portions were adequate and full of flavor. The meal was topped off with a little chocolate cake and gelato and the satiated twosome were off to the next locale. Definitley would go back to try other things in the future. Service was great and with Shadys ALWAYS generous tip the meal set back Shady 220$. More...
Amazing meal. Order the razor clams radicchio salad and special lava cake dessert with olive oil ice cream.
We went in for a quick meal before theater, and we were treated to quite the experience in such small time frame. The food was stunningly good. I looked at the sea bass and thought this was not going to go well and u couldn't have been more wrong. Not only was it packing fresh clean flavors it was amazingly light and easy on your stomach. Amazing dish. The service was outstanding and we were treated to a great lunch thanks to our brilliantly gracious waitress. Thank you for making it special. More...
I am not sure why this place does not have more stars.. I thought my meal here was excellent. This is a great date spot. We had a little table tucked in a corner that was just up some stairs. It had a great view of the restaurant but also felt private. I hate when I feel like people can hear your entire conversation. Service was great. Drinks came out timely and our waters never empty yet didn't feel constantly interrupted.Oysters were delicious. I also loved the spaghetti and broccoli rabe. I will def be back :) More...
Excellent Burgundy wine list and great food!
Went to Charlie Bird for an unemployment lunch. Liked the hip-hop music because it meant the restaurant is trendy. Liked the service because it was good and attentive. Ordered the chicken liver and the gnocchi with an iced tea to wash it all down. I'm not sure how big a chicken liver is, but I'd guess this dish contains a small village of chickens. It made me feel guilty. The chicken liver was spread over toast and topped with a cherry compote. It reminded me of an earthy and umami unsweetened PB&J. But while eating a ton of peanut butter isn't, like, weird, it felt kind of strange to ingest half a pound or so of liver. It tasted good but I'd rather eat something similarly tasty that has less chicken liver. The gnocchi was really good but not too memorable. It was served with tomato sauce and a little bowl of chili oil, which was a nice touch. More...
Delicious food and relaxed atmosphere. Came here for lunch and had pasta, octopus, and few other dishes that were all great. I believe they also have an outdoor seating area for the summer. More...

The very best dinner we had in NYC . This place was 5 stars plus
I came here because they had both octopus and chicken liver pate on the menu. Both were fantastic, as was the tagliatelle with rabbit. Cocktail was tremendous as well. Classy establishment and a strong recommendation. More...
Loved Charlie Bird! I've heard the best things about this place so was excited to finally go with a friend. We sat outside on the most gorgeous June evening, split a bottle of delicious and reasonably priced wine. Their farro salad is, as everyone says, delicious and one of the best of its kind. I've been making it for lunch ever since (Melissa Clark has the recipe on NYTimes.com). My friend's taglietelle was to die for, but I was slightly disappointed in my bucatini with octopus. I would definitely come back to try some of their other dishes. Friendly staff and fun atmosphere! More...
Excellent food! Food and service are excellent. Very good prices. The Chile Verdi and Chimichangas are my favorites. Great Mexican food for not a lot of money. Really nice people and nice service. Great company. More...
Visiting from San Francisco & we loved this place. Service, wine, pasta was incredible. We had a scallop dish that was raw & it blew our mind. I am shocked it doesn't have better reviews. More...
Went for lunch today. The good: entrees were very good- tagliatelle was awesome as was the black bass. The clam toast was yummy but very saltyReally liked the drinks as well and husband is very picky about his martinisThe bad: place was more than half empty and it took a while to place our order. Then 2 in our party got their drinks and I didn't get mine for the longest time. Hard to make a birthday toast and couldn't flag our waiter who was chatting with a pretty young lady The ice cream was delicious so overall a win, they just need to work on the service and the salt More...
I've been eyeing this place for about 3 years now. I interviewed a chef who mentioned this was her favorite restaurant so I added it to my long list of restaurants. I stopped by for lunch on a weekday and I was blown away. Everything looked so good! From the appetizers, I tried the fresh oysters, razor clams, clam toast, chilled lobster, diver scallops. My favorite without a doubt was the scallops. Just divine. I can probably live without the clam toast, it was a little too salty for me. As for entree, I got the tagliatelle- which I highly recommend. I'm already thinking about my next meal here and hopefully it'll be for dinner. That menu looks lovely. I'll be back!!!! More...
I am currently addicted to cacio e pepe. I've tried it at many different restaurants, but this one keeps coming back to my mind. They serve it with a homemade spicy sauce on the side, which is amaaaazing. I made the mistake of not remembering to eat it with the sauce until when I was almost done with the pasta, so I'll have to go back and try it the right way next time. More...
We loved this spot! I would give the food a 3.5/5, but because the ambience was so awesome, my rating is higher. Nothing out of the ordinary or unique about the menu, but they do a good job with what's on there. We loved the small, cozy feel, and of course the blaring hip hop music (Biggie, 2Pac, Snoop, etc.). The bathroom decor is super cool - be sure to check it out before you leave! More...
I was very excited to finally try Charlie Bird and it was very good but not absolutely unbelievable. While some reviews don't encourage the vegetables, the brussels sprouts and cauliflower were some of my favorite bites of the evening.
Starting with sitting at our reserved time on a busy night, we appreciated the staffs attention to getting us seated comfortably. We liked the service because so many people served us. Everyone had their assignments and it worked beautifully. It wasn't overbearing at all. Their timing of service from water, clearing each course and cleaning the table each time, to asking if we needed anything else was perfectly timed. Now for the food. We had numerous appetizers that were outstanding. Perfect portions. The main courses were also appealing. Its a great menu. Nice choices and prepared to your liking. Oh, and dessert was excellent. The four of us went through so much of the menu with a good pace and great service. Can't wit to come back to NYC to get here again. More...
This restaurant is the second of two reasons I created this account. We were able to get walk-in seating during lunch-time on a Saturday. The food was stellar, though nothing compared to the kindness of Charlie Bird's manager, Kristen .My girlfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary, and Kristen single handedly made it a memorable experience. This is how cool she was - in a previous post, I incorrectly called her Karen. I deleted that post, copied and pasted it, and corrected the name, because it's important to give her a proper shout out. More...
A friend took me here for belated birthday dinner last night and everything was delicious. I've walked past the restaurant for years and now I wish I hadn't waited so long! We had oysters, burrata, uni spaghetti, and papardelle. The oysters and the uni were my favorite. Dessert was also great. The restaurant is beautiful and even though it filled in towards the end of our meal, we could still hear each other speak. Hopefully I'll be able to return soon! More...
Quite good! We ordered a lot and the only complaints were that a lot of the food was too salty, and the octopus was over cooked. Other than that - service was good, wine was good, burrata was great, focaccia was AMAZING, chicken liver was good, Brussels good, and pasta was good (but not particularly memorable). And the vibe of the restaurant was cool as well. I would def recommend this establishment, but wouldn't refer to it was the "best"pasta, etc More...
Charlie Bird has done it all right. From the wine list, food menu, hiring of friendly and knowledgeable staff to simple yet elegant decor. This is a place you'll take your parents to meet your significant other for the first time. You'll take them to a place you trust in every single aspect. Where you can all be happy because of how good of an experience everything was.The service can be compared to any place in NYC, it's that good. The menu is as thought out as your college essay, it's something to be remembered. It's refreshing, Charlie Bird exceeds at the simple items and blows your mind with the exotic ones. The ribeye is worth the price, they just do something special with it and I still haven't quite figured out what it is. Very good food! It doesn't disappoint! Great for client lunch and brunch!
Very good lunch spot. Went there with a couple people, which was good because it is a small plate share menu. I would recommend that if you like to try a lot of different foods. The atmosphere was pretty cool. Exposed brink wall and a new America look, it was set the stage for food that matched the vibe. The crispy chicken, cauliflower, tagliatelle, and spaghetti were fantastic. The octopus was just okay and burrata was just above okay. The burrata was interesting because it used squash as the complementary flavor. Overall service was good. Went there for lunch. I would recommend trying this place out for lunch. More...
This place has unique charm. I would personally rate it as Italian restaurant with French vibe. The food was delicious. Waiters are very attentive. We asked the hostess about food recommendations and she was very helpful. Definitely going back and highly recommended!! More...
I don't understand why the rating so low? very nice ambience, great dishes like the raw razor clam or bone marrow with anchovies. friendly staffs too. i'll definitely come back! More...
Absolutely delicious! Loved the vibe music and friendly service even when busy. The faro salad was super yummy.. Evernote we had actually. Bonus? they offer half bottles of wine off the list- nice touch. More...
This is my favorite spot, at least near 6th. Atmosphere is great, music is Beck, old school rap (Run DMC sticker on door), food is rocking and wine is great!
ive been here twice - once for brunch and once for dinner - both times were exceptional! the food was perfectly portioned and everything delicious - the service was great and loved sitting in the back area higher up so I could have a view of the diners inside and outside. cant recommend this place enough!
Great food, perfect location, friendly and fast service.
Best non traditional Italian in nyc. Fave plates are octopus and rigatoni. Love the vibe with 90s hip hop. Not the best ideal for a date since tables inside are so close to each other where your literally sharing tables with other couples. In the summer months they have a large outdoor seating area More...
We sat outside in a nice crisp evening. We were seated when we arrived at 9pm on a Friday. The bumping hip hop music seems off with the fancy dinner but I kind of liked it. We ordered the Burrata, the Octopus, and the Monkfish. burrata - Delicious! I loved it on top of the pumpkin and hazelnut. Order! I couldn't stop eating it. Octopus - very tender and flavorful. Has a nice spicy kick to it. Order!Monkfish - not as flavorful as I would have thought though the staff recommended it. It was too salty. Penicillin drink - not strong enough More...
Sat at the bar, listening to barman stories. Amazing food, wine and service. highly recommended ...
I rarely write reviews but I am feeling terrible for having left a bad one (rightly so) for Eleven Madison so I feel I should make up for it. Charlie Bird (I have been there five or six times) is one of the best restaurants in New York. Every.Single.Dish is mouthwateringly good. We save our visits for special occasions and every time we leave we are amazed at what an incredible experience it was. The tile crudo is an absolute must, but then, so is literally everything on their menu. Fresh, inventive, delicious--you really cannot go wrong at this restaurant. More...
I've had just about every pasta at Charlie Bird, and I can't think of one way to possibly improve upon it. The appetizers, though extremely small and quite expensive, were all amazing. The octopus and the faro salad are two of the better appetizers I've had at a modern Italian restaurant. In terms of modern Italian, it doesn't get much better and hipper than this, not to mention they blast hip hop while you eat in a very nice and elegant dining room. More...
good service, a little too dark inside, fun visit for good food
Great pastas, wine and music.
My wife and I love Charlie Bird and it is one of our favorite restaurants to go to. We always appreciate the flavorful Italian menu, excellent service, flavor profile and portion size. Everything seems to be "just right" there with never too much or too little food. This is a definitely "must go to" if you live downtown. More...

Oh my deliciousness is all I can say! Best Italian food I've had thus far. Ambiance, the wine selection, food super fresh and Sal was a great host. Definitely a must.

Perfect for a weekend brunch. With unusual beats and decor, Charlie Bird embraces fusion with an Italian groove. The food was fresh and flavorful. The farro salad was fabulous, (found it online afterwards). Significantly above average service.Tried the Gnocchi Rosa and the Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe as well, preferred the latter. P.S. Loved the boombox art. More...

Everything was very fresh and tasty. portions on the smaller side but it's NYC.
Exceptional service very well executed food a little bit pricey but it comes through in the ingredients
Great wine list. Only had a salad but it was pretty perfect.
Decent bar with good service. Dark, woody ambiance. Has TV's. but not a sports bar.
Hip-hop themed restaurant with delicious pastas and brussel sprouts. Best wine glasses.
Cocktails + food + wine + music + service = 5 stars ⭐️
The restaurant is beautiful and the ambiance is really nice. The food here is amazing, fresh and flavorful. Great staff and nice service.
It's a little cramped but the food is awesome! 3 of us split the ribeye and a few appetizers. Great presentation.
We had a great dinner from start to finish. Our server was on point, attentive and knowledgeable. Thanks to all the staffs that made this visit one of the best dining experience.
I am definitely coming back! Kindest people I have ever met. The young lady that greets you & takes your jacket; she is extremely kind and helpful. Great restaurant!
The atmosphere is very cosy and the food was fantastic.
Cool little spot, very good food and good service just not amazing in any regard.
We had the butternut squash salad which was excellent. Gnocchi was very fresh and smooth. Chicken was good and they split the portion almost routinely to share. Just keep in mind all the portions and small and the prices are relatively high. More...

Incredible food--creative, delicious, and comforting. Service is also fantastic
Phenomenal on all levels, especially for dinner.. mmmm the fried chicken
True to New York by being uniquely delicious. Staff behind the bar was incredibly attentive and helpful. Hostess was snobby, but hey, I get it. Every dish was outstanding.
While a nice summer evening dining outside didn't hurt their cause, it wasn't necessary. Everything was "Top shelf" starting with half bottles of every wine. You know two people will be drinking a whole bottle. Why not get to try two half bottles! Nice wine list.As is suggested by other reviews, even if you don't like chicken liver you will like this chicken liver with cherries. The papardelle with mushrooms and regianno was simple and flavorful. Then there was the suckling pig with crispy skin. Fantastic. We'll be back because we didn't even get to some of the other dishes reviewers recommended! Nice servers too. More...
I love Charlie Bird. I found this gem 3 or 4 years ago, and I haven't stopped going since. The atmosphere and decor of the place is perfect. The retro yellow booths, dim lighting, pictures, gorgeous bar and seating, and loud music all make this place one-of-a-kind. While some may find the music jarring, the loud rap music makes Charlie Bird unique and interesting. It has its own personality that is in line with hip, late-night, never sleeping vibe of nyc. The food, though, is what brings me back. Great seafood with an Italian style that is almost always the best (once the food was not as amazing--but still really really good). The raw seafood is something to never pass up on (the fluke, scallops, and razor clams are jaw-dropping) and the large seafood dishes, pastas, and vegetables are also amazing. They used to have an amazing Chitarra pasta with clams and chili. I have not tried the new one, but the Spaghetti with sea urchin seems closest to this. Definitely a place to go, if not for food, at least for drinks. While the staff are often nice, the bar can be a little rude. Overall, a must try place for the food and great atmosphere! More...
Excellent food and service. Best veal chop I have ever had. Very cool wine glasses and good wine list and cocktails.
One of my favorite places for both Brunch & Dinner in the city, all of the elements come together in a fun charismatic way, the atmosphere is relaxed despite the dining experience being accustomed to wine lovers and true foodies. Prices are def on the expensive side but worth it. All brunch options I've had were lovely and likewise for dinner but I would skip the mains and stick to meals. More...
