Lovely food. We had a vegetarian fry and pancakes with fruit. Good options for omnivores and vegetarians.
Excellent value for money and the staff are friendly. Service with a smile too! I recommend the Ulster Fry, a bargain breakfast all under £5 (at the time of writing). To get into the cafe, enter the youth hostel to the right and then turn left once you're through the door. More...

The best breakfast ever
Don't let the low prices fool you.. they don't skimp on anything. Once we found this place we were there every morning of our visit
A great little cafe. Huge choice on the menu, great prices, lovely service. Thank you!
Great food, dirty tables, lovely staff.
Good breakfast! Very inexpensive.
What a fab little find! The cafe is attached to a youth hostel, making prices here very reasonable. After an early flight, we were so excited to try the Belfast Breakfast and it didn't disappoint! Loved the potato bread and soda bread. The only let down was the long wait for food, which staff apologised for as they were short-handed. More...

This cafe is clean and the food was lovely
Cafe is part of the the International Hostel, it is excellent value with a wide selection of food, vegetarian and vegan options are available. Would definitely recommend the traditional Ulster Fry Up or larger serving such as the Mega Belfast. The food is cooked properly and served well. The staff are great and very welcoming. More...
Such a cute cafe! Staff is really lovely, got pancakes and they were delicious!! Very cheap too, would 10/10 recommend!
To put it simply; quite possibly the best value Ulster Fry in the whole of Belfast
Best in Belfast
Très bon et pas cher je recommande le petit déjeuner
Big Ulster fry...
Excellent service, great food and very friendly staff
Cheap prices. Good food. Great for solo or group.
Really great breakfast and the staff are super friendly! High recommend the Belgian waffles w/ bananas.
Good eats at good price
Great breakfast foods, and so reasonably priced! I got the Ulster Breakfast, which kept me full for hours, along with a Turkish Delight Hot Chocolate made with soy milk, and it was fantastic. Hubby got something with pancakes and bacon, and a cafe latte with soy, and in total it only cost us £16, which was extremely reasonable for the amount and quality of food we had.The wait was sort of long to get food (this was on a Sunday around brunch time), but we sat back and just enjoyed our drinks while we waited. It's attached to the hostel, and there are plenty of long tables, so you could probably strike up an interesting conversation with hostellers from around the world, if you were so inclined! More...
The food was brilliant and if u couldn't find something to like then there is something wrong! Better than the food was the first class service, I don't think I have ever walked into a business and been given such a warm welcome to me my wife and son. The gentleman that greeted us couldn't have been more hospitable and kind. He showed us to the snug area so our son was able to have a bit of freedom to walk without him escaping and kept the draft off us when the door was opening and closing! More business owners and government departments of northern Ireland need to visit her and find out what good cusomter relations is all about! Well done and a credit to all the staff!! More...
Omg first time from tryin here and I must say the food is abs beautiful also quick difo recommend 100%
Absolutely perfect breakfast. Fruit pancakes are delicious, and the portion is realy huge.
Tried this place for lunch today, this is a deceptively filling portion! Love the décor of this little hidden gem and friendly service :)
I like the idea: a place, where you can relax, have some coffee, chat - and give, whatecer you think is a fair payment. Nice view, too.
Everything was excellent. Food service and fantastic staff.
Great little spot in between Queens quarter and City Centre! Its an order at counter and someone will deliver it set-up. The service was AWESOME and the guy refilling our stuff was extremely kind to say the least. The breakfast options are diverse and its MORE than affordable! More...

Great place for breakfast - amazing breakfast menu including veggie, vegan and traditional Irish. Cosy and great value - I can't recommend this place enough for a massive tasty breakfast after a night out in lovely Belfast. LGBT friendly xxx
loved the breakfast, ambience and bustle of the place. only grouse is that there was a longish queue to order breakfast on a Saturday morning... but once the food arrived, it was worth it! also, order the mega Ulster fry if you're really starving - it'll keep you going till bedtime! More...
Stopped in here for lunch a few weeks back. Quaint place, but could be in better decorative order. Enjoyed the food and the cold pint!
Good food. Reasonably priced with friendly staff and good service.
Breakfast is a busy time, but if you have patience you will have one of the best meals with the sweetest service. I loved it.
Great selection of breakfasts and lunch foods. They accept pounds or Euros but no cards.
Always great food and value for money and friendly staff would highly recommend it
It was quite nice if only the benches had some padding v_v
Very reasonably priced, fantastic food and warm service.

5-stars service. The staff wouldn't just say sorry for your problem. They will help you to solve your problems and fulfill your needs.
Great food at great priced
This place is glorious! The food is quality, delicious, and budget friendly. We breakfast here everyday. The Ulster Fry is absolutely delicious! However, my very favorite item I would get every day (2x today) is the heavenly bagel! The bagels are sooo good! Plump and soft -the heavenly bagel had a slice of ham/bacon, cream cheese, lettuce and tomato. Now, this seems relatively simple -but the combination of the softly toasted fresh bagel, the smokey meat, and the decadent cream cheese -out of this world! Finally, I didn't have their salted Carmel muffin until the last day (included in our to-go lunch). Holy hell -the best muffin I've ever had! So freakishly amazingly good -my husband even said "wow" -and he never says "wow". If you stay at the hostel next door (fantastic lodgings), it is easy access. I'm skimpy with 5 stars -but this place deserved it for quality, price, and deliciousness! The only con is that it is only open until 2pm! More...
The staff are very nice to speak to and make you very welcome the the food great it is the best around
Great food and great price. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have free wifi and the atmosphere is great...
The Causeway Cafe is located inside/beside the Belfast International Youth Hostel, and is available to guests and non-guests. I stay at this hostel every year with a group of American students, and while the hostel is your run-of-the-mill backpackers joint, the cafe is outstanding, and serves the best breakfast I've had in Belfast. The cafe is situated cafeteria-style, with long tables and benches in the seating area and a large counter of serve-yourself yogurts, toast, cereal, and orange juice. There is also a huge menu floating over the tills, so you can order a hot breakfast if that tickles your fancy. The cafe is kept very clean, though there always seems to be a song from "Grease" drifting out of the sound system. My fellow travelers usually go for the continental breakfast (the serve yourself options above) as it is free to large groups staying in the hostel. From what I've heard, this option is "ok." I have gotten a few of the students to break out of this and try the Belfast Fry, which costs £4.50. Let me tell you...worth it!The fry consists of two (each) Griddled Soda and Potato Bread, Sausages, Rashers, Fried Tomato, Fried Egg, Baked Beans, and Tea or Coffee. All of the items are cooked to order, so you do have to wait a bit for the end result (around 15 minutes). My favourite part of the fry is the griddled potato bread, which has definitely been cooked with butter (or oil or fat or something delicious) but is still crispy and melts in your mouth, unlike most Ulster Fry's I've had in which the potato bread is just sitting in grease.I have, on occassion, deviated from my usual fry in search of a lighter breakfast so, still not wanting to give in to the continental, I opted to try the Filled Griddled Soda Bread. It's lighter that the fry, while still being a hot breakfast - I have tried the bacon soda and the soda filled with butter and jam. Both really yummy. The major downside to the Causeway Cafe is that it is only open from 8am-11am (7 days/week). Also, the prices for the smaller items (eh hem...continental breakfast) are high for what they are. In this place, you get more bang for your buck by going big.Recommended for anyone looking for a big breakfast to get them through a day of sightseeing or studying! More...
