I've started a Gold Membership at Carn Brea Leisure Centre (Community Centre) months ago in Idea of doing exercises and have my youngest son learn to swim. The gold membership allows you as an adult to bring one of your underaged children to swim for free but people at the reception seem to forget that and often asked me to pay for my child. When trying to book classes at reception, Amanda always told me there are not spaces available, but when I was to the Gym office, Caroline and Steve found online a lot of available spaces. Today I decided to go to the Gym: running and rowing. I swiped the card and screen sent me back to reception office. Sandy who is the Manager of the reception told me I need to pay £3.00 for a missed booking which I previously have cancelled on Wednesday with Amanda because of the Ciaran storm. Amanda didn't register my cancelation. Sandy remembered I called and she cancelled it. After the 'adventure' I'm still trying to go down to the gym, but Sandy is asking me if I did any booking for it and she advised me to go on the online website in the reception to book a gym session. I've tried but it wouldn't work and Sandy offered to do this session booking on her computer. When I got down to the gym I asked Caroline the gym Manager if I need a booking for the Gym. Caroline said I don't need one. Every single time I went to this Community Centre they made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. This place is advertising as a Community place but it doesn't show any sympathy or kindness. There is untrained and rude staff. Never forget: This Centre is maintained by the Community. We all pay for services to keep this place going. Nobody deserves such an appalling treatment. More...

the centre is a fantastic place to either bring the family or in my case train for triathalon. the cafe is very good overlooking the Olympic track and pool , healthy food at cafe. the gym is massive and well run .the pool is bright and modern. take advantage of the gold membership for classes , track pool and gym. cant think of any other complex in Cornwall as good. great work everyone.l am sorting membership out start of coming month. Just had my son's Birthday party at the pool. They all had a really brilliant time. Thanks to the fantastic staff who made the party so much fun for the kids. My friend & I attended Body Pump & Body Combat for the first time this morning and we absolutely LOVED It!!!!! Was definitely not easy mind! ! Muscles are aching already - dreading the stairs tomorrow haha. But Fantastic classes! Sonia is a great instructor, really motivating and genuinely a lovely person. Talked us through what we were doing when we first arrived and made us feel very comfortable - lovely bunch of people within the class overall, regular goers spoke with us and helped us out & then came upto us at the end and kindly told us we did a great job. Been using cblc since I was a child and now I'm a regular in the gym and classes. I can't recommend it enough!
The refit is amazing and the staff are helpful and friendly.
I've used other gyms locally and on holiday and non have the same friendly feel Carn brea has. And with such a huge range of equipment and classes that cater for all ages and abilities!

Would like to thank the lifeguards that saved my 2 year old daughter yesterday. She decided to run n jump into the 3 metre pool after being on the baby slide. Without hesitation they dived in to save her. We are very grateful to you. If we can do anything to help maintain the safety of children at this pool like you did with my daughter, then let me no. Took our Son Tyler to the County Athletic Championships on Saturday on the Track!!It was fantastic and the Leisure Centre Cafe was just what we needed to keep Tyler well fueled for his races! !!Staff were most helpful and we will be happy to return!!Tyler walked away with a gold medal for U13 boys relay and 3rd place for 1500m!!!Very memorable day had by all,so Thankyou!!!!! I have been going to Carn Brea for 2 weeks now having never stepped foot in a gym before due to low self-esteem because of my size. The staff there have supported me to develop my confidence and determination to get fitter. I was so scared to even walk in the gym but Phil, Nicky and the guys have supported and encouraged me every step of the way to the point where I am even attending spin class and able to stand up!!! Well worth the membership; classes are frequent and supportive of beginners. Worth having a full gym induction to get a personalised programme to be able to walk in and crack on!! More...

First swim today in the new pool. FAB_U_LOUS!!!! Bright, fresh, clean, warm water and so spacious!!! And hot showers!
CBLC has raised the bar as a multi-sport centre in Cornwall now.
Great fitness suite, great classes, great spinning sessions, 400m track, café and big car park. And now a great swim facility! Congratulations, the wait has been so worth it!!!!

LOVE the new pool! The lights are so bright that it makes you forget it's horrible winter out there! The murals are fantastic and the water is a perfect temperature. You don't freeze getting in but it's not too hot when you get going either. Amazing Job, and completed on time as promised! Couldn't live without you now guys. I'll be a full member for as long as I can get there! Amazing value for money! I worked out if I had to pay for all the sessions individually it would cost me £82.00 a week, as a member I pay just under £9.00!!! Love it! Thank you for saving our local centre. Great place.. both daughters are enjoying swim school... but feel I do need to mention that while the addition of a play pen in the changing room is a good idea, it is however far from escape proof. It took my 19 month old son less than a minute to escape. I would however be delighted to loan him out to yourselves if you ever need to test out any new versions in the future. More...
