Went to a Dog Show at Capable Canines in 2017 with our two dogs. We were walking round and suddenly this man appears (wearing a Capable Canines polo shirt) with his collie. The collie starts reacting aggressively on the lead, lunging at one of our dogs and the man was choking it by literally hanging it off the lead and yanking it around aggressively. No wonder if this is how the dog behaves, if this is the treatment it is getting. Anyone with half a brain cell knows that if dogs are reacting on the lead, that is not the way to handle it, as it makes the dog more aggressive (case in point). We were so shocked that we left immediately. Our neighbour took her dog to training there and it was frightened of the trainer. She was telling them to growl at their dog and her dogs, training by yanking their dogs by the lead to get them to heal, even small puppies and allowing her dogs to be unsupervised, where they have attacked visiting dogs to the extent that it caused severe trauma to one Sharpei. It is now so aggressive to people and other dogs, that everyone is scared of it. Not recommended, unless you want your dog to be psychologically damaged. This is old fashioned and outdated dog training which is dangerous and detrimental to the dogs. Find a modern dog trainer with up to date qualifications. More...
