Jo is professional and fantastic with Molly. She understood exactly what wanted to achieve with her and gave us plenty of tools and information to get us towards the end result. I would recommend her dog training to everyone. More...

Joanne is GREAT! She is as good with dogs than with their parents. She puts her heart in every part of her job, and this gives the best results. I could not recommend her enough!

Jo is compassionate, professional and knowledgable. She was gentle with Pedro and did not pressure him or push his boundaries. Pedro has trust issues and Jo gave me excellent support and advice during the course of her working with Pedro. I was given detailed reports and guidance. Jo thinks holistically and in the long term and she created a roadmap for the future. I have no hesitation in recommending her most highly and unreservedly. More...

Jo has been icredibly helpful and understanding in assisting us with our dog Bert.
He has quite complex issues and jo has given lots of time , listening to us and has given us the tools we need to try to make his life a bit easier.

We had our initial meeting with Jo a couple of weeks ago and she was just as lovely in person as she was over the phone. She really understood our issues and has given us common sense advice which is so far definitely working and has made life less stressful. Can't wait to see how much better life with our 2 dogs can get :) More...

Jo was great she totally understood all of our needs and the problems straight away. Dash really took to her as she is just so calm and chilled out. It only took us 3 lessons to get the problems sorted. I needed just as much education as the dog! I would recommend Jo any day of the week she's fab More...

Jo is fantastic. She completely understood Dayo's issues, and gave great advice. She is so gentle and calm - Dayo adored her. We have learned a lot and are applying the advice to good effect. I think the improvement in his confidence and calmness (thanks to Jo) had a unexpected benefit. He had his first plane journey - across the pond! - and arrived completely mellow, relaxed and even curious and interested. I honestly don't think he would have done so pre-Jo. I would absolutely recommend her. More...

Having recently moved home my 5 year old male weinmaraner was suffering very badly with separation anxiety. I contacted Jo from Canny Dog and she set up a plan to help us. I cannot thank Jo enough for her patience and resilence and thoughtfulness in helping to resolve this issue. Jo is only a phone call away and keeps in regular contact for updates. I would highly recommend Canny Dogs for any issues owners have with their dogs as Jo will make sure that pet and owner can live happily as they should More...

Q&A

Seeing clients develop a greater connection with their dogs. Teaching dogs the skills they need to navigate the world, giving owners confidence.

I have a particular interest in Separation Anxiety, nervous/anxious dogs and Adolescent Dog Training.

My dog!

Having a rescue dog with aggression issues started me on this whole journey. Without Max I would never have started to read, then study, or volunteer at a rescue, or pass exams or learn to train, or volunteered then run classes, or attended workshops and seminars or given up the day job.... It all starts with one dog.

Because I won't judge, if you're asking for help then you care about your dogs well-being and enjoying life together.
