Two words, USE HIM! Chris was great, I called him early in the morning and it went to voicemail but he called me back very quickly and text. He listened to my description of our problem and made it clear the options that may have to happen and the costs involved, I booked an appointment and he arrived earlier than expected which was brilliant.As soon as I opened the door he was friendly and asked straight away if he should take his boots off, the job took less than an hour but Chris talked his way through it explaining and being very clear about the work he was doing.I highly recommend using Chris. Chris came around to Price up 4 jobs that needed doing, the type of jobs you know you need to get done but most other plumbers can't be bothered to do because it isn't a huge bathroom suite or central heating revamp. Chris priced up the job accurately and booked a date when he was doing the quote. Arrived on the day on time and spent the next 9 hours doing those 4 jobs which challenged him in a number of ways, one job needing a hole cut in the ceiling to fix the piping. The great thing is that Chris has other tradesmen who he trusts and whilst at the house organised for a plasterer to follow up a few days later to fix the ceiling at a really good price. We had a water leak onto the ceiling in our living room which started on a Saturday morning and if left would have caused damage.
We had called out two plumbers and been let down by both who had agreed to come out and then called back later in the day to say they weren't coming. We were worried but didn't think we would get anyone out that day as it was now well gone four. Chris Hicks from CH Plumbing and Heating returned our missed call from an hour or so earlier and agreed to come out a short notice to help.
He was prompt, personable and proficient. Avoided tearing up the ensuite bathroom floor to access the leak and instead made a small hole in the already damaged ceiling and fixed it from there. He then used up the rest of the time left on the hourly rate to neaten up the hole for the plasterer to fix instead of just calling it a day.
He referred us to a plasterer to fix the hole who was also excellent. We will be retaining Chris's details in case we need a plumber in the future as finding a tradesman as good as him is priceless, I would strongly recommend him to anyone and everyone.
