The most wonderful farm for helping individuals gain new experiences which they wouldn't usually be able to have because of any life challenges; offering a great, empathetic community in which to do so. More...

Good place to visit. Small but full of fun and lovely animals. They work with adults with learing disabilities and give them a great time and knowledge of caring for animals and growing veg, flowers and wood crafts. Good to visit on their open days.

What do you love most about your job?
I love working with people and animals and seeing people grow in confidence.
What inspired you to start your own business?
We started Buchan Community Farm in 2016, I had always wanted to provide a service to help people to enjoy animals, horticulture, and nature.
I know how much horses and all my animals have helped me, and having worked with many community groups I wanted a way to combine my horse and farm knowledge with my knowledge of working with people.
We are here to help anyone, with any life challenges or social exclusion.
This can be anyone in need of help because of age, education, health, Impairment or any other requirement for our assistance.
We are here for anyone but by appointment only, we are not open to the public as a petting farm.
Having worked with many client groups, I particularly wanted to help, people with mental health issues, there is a lot of research to back the advantage of working with horses especially.
Why should our clients choose you?
Our team are very friendly open and welcoming, we tailor our Service to individual needs, all our Service Users are very important to us.
We are a professional organisation, we have a contract with Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Councils to provide Skills development and training.
You can join as part of a group or we have trained counsellors who can provide one - to- one support.
