Whilst it is probably a very good care centre and the member of staff I spoke to was polite and helpful, dont waste your time getting in touch with them if you have a staffie. They dont entertain them. My zero star rating is not because they dont take Staffs but because it is not made clear on their website so, I like many others, wasted our time. Oh and it appears you cannot give zero stars so had to give them 1, much to my further annoyance. More...

Do not send your dog here, my dog comes home injured and is never reported to me, too many dogs, money driven

Do not trust this centre! Too many dogs to manage safely!
My puppy attended the Ditchling branch twice a week since it opened. After three months, I wanted to see how my pup was developing and how the centre coped with many more dogs. Despite asking for just 1 video in his entire time there, they refused. Other branches, including Cobham, were happy to provide the occasional video and were as confused as I was at Ditchling's poor management. The Ditchling manager said they were happy to take videos for marketing and social media but not for owners. They sounded like they had too many dog to manage safely! The ditchling branch is not trustworthy and they simply view you and your dog as a pay cheque with no duty of care whatsoever. Management were appalling to deal with! Trust me, there's much better daycare in the area with people who actually care about your pup! More...

I called to enquire about the puppy preschool at Bruce’s and was left shocked and dismayed that they rejected my Doberman puppy. The explanation I was given - if even you could call it that - was they can’t cater to large breeds, and Dobermans are “an aggressive” breed, and something about the vans not being able to carry a large dog.
Perhaps you should state your breed exclusions on your website, and train your staff to get their “schpeel” right. Which one is it? You can’t look after “large” breeds (even though your website and Instagram accounts are littered with photos of Labs and Vislas), or your staff are incompetent at looking after a 12 wk old Doberman?
Word of advice, read up on Dobermans, and perhaps cut back on watching too many Hollywood movies!

So disappointed and upset that Bruces choose to discriminate against specific breeds before even giving them the chance at a taster session. Our happy, friendly and loving Staffy Cross was rejected immediately before even hearing any details of his personality. I can see in previous comments this is a reoccurring problem.

It is such a shame as he would have got so much out of an outside social space like Bruces, and I am truly shocked that certain breeds aren't even given a chance.

The thing I found most frustrating is that NOWHERE on their website do they state that they do not accept certain breeds. They actually state in their advertising that “We want every dog to be social fulfilled and happy”- obviously this is not the case.

Inquired about their puppy preschool as it has been difficult socialising my puppy during the pandemic. They were very short and rude on the phone and said they would not accept our border collie puppy as he wouldn’t integrate well with the other dogs. .. As a dog owner who has had the most lovely and sweet border collies, bit of puppy discrimination... it’s not the the dog, it’s the owner! More...

On Friday 15th November 2019 at approximately 4 pm, one of your vans Reg No: GF17 CFA parked in the middle of the street on Onslow Avenue, Richmond, TW10 for around 10 minutes. This vehicle blocked all traffic from both ways, one of these vehicles included my elderly parents, my mother suffers from multiple sclerosis, which causes an extremely weak bladder, my poor mother desperately needed to get home from her hospital appointment but as your driver has blocked the road, she had to walk a distance to get to her home, sadly my mother did not make it to the house in time. My mother has been so ashamed and embarrassed all weekend, it will take my poor mother a while to recover as this accident was seen by quite a few of her neighbours, who were actually disgusted by your drivers actions, he caused a huge build up of traffic both ways and was not at all apologetic for his actions. I have spoken to many of my parents neighbours who have come by to check on her after either seeing her accident or being stuck in the backlog of traffic. This is not the first time one of your drivers have caused such a traffic problem but by writing this review, I sincerely hope you discuss with your drivers the common decency of parking in a place which does not cause others harm or distress. My Mother is completely devastated by what happened to her due to your drivers inconsiderate behaviour. More...

I sent my puppy to Bruce's Puppy Nursery for 3 months. They are really lovely and take such good care of her. The staff treat the pups like their own and she always came back having had a great time. We also get weekly updates with pictures and stories about what the pups were up to that week! The only downside I felt was that drop-off time back home was c 3:30pm - which in hindsight is too early for someone who works full time. My pup didnt take to being left alone for the 2hrs until I got home and suffered from anxiety. Other than that, it is really a fab place and your dog will have a great time. More...

I send my dog Frank who is a dachshund, he's very timid and can come across as 'aggressive'. Since he's started going to day care his confidence has grown from strength to strength.
It's part of his routine on Tuesday and now waits for David or one of the team to collect him.
I used to send my other dachshund Maggie but she didn't enjoy it as much.
Letichia and David have been honest with her development at daycare which as the owner means a lot to know they put the animals welfare first. I certainly don't feel like a number or pound sign to this business.
I'm really pleased with the service, I love seeing Frank look happy in the pictures they upload

Hi! I've been going to Bruce's since I was a cheeky little puppy. I'm so happy when I get picked up on Monday morning. I get to see all of my best doggy friends and run around all day.
I'm especially lucky because sometimes when I'm out in parks I get distracted by the scent of foxes and squirrels and nearly lose my humans, but at the centre it's completely fenced in so there is no chance of me getting lost and I can sniff to my heart's content which is the best thing ever!
Every now and again, when I have been a really good boy, my humans get these things out called suitcases and I get to have sleepovers with someone from daycare which I love! Then my humans get home and give me double portions of dinner and lots of cuddles which is awesome.
I've had such a fun day at daycare today that I'm really snoozy so am going to have a really long sleep in my bed. Thank you Bruce & Co. I'm a very lucky doggy!

I can't praise Bruce's enough! My dog has been going there for a month and the change in her has been amazing. She's a rescue and had a hard life before we got her. As a result she was a little weary of strangers, especially men. German, who comes to collect her, has been amazing. After a few accidents in the first few weeks she's improved so much and now runs up to him, excited to get going. Even my neighbor commented on the difference between when she was first collected to now...she practically jumps into the van! She's a lot more confident with strangers and seems a lot more relaxed.
The photo diary we get every week is such a lovely thing. We can see how she's doing and see all of her little friends
Thanks Bruce's!

We’ve been at Bruce’s for ten months now off of a recommendation from a friend who has been there for about four years and our loving Samantha goes two days a week and absolutely loves it. But what has prompted me to right this review was based on last weeks’ weather chaos (and it was madness!). While other businesses, transport services and schools closed down Bruce’s soldiered on. We were given an opportunity to swap our days, which we actually took because we were at home, which gave me a real sense of proactivity about the way it is run. Samantha is back this week and looking forward to seeing all her friends again. I just wanted to say a bit thank you to the team at Bruce’s not just for the day to day reliability but actually delivering great canine (customer) service – which, lets face it, we often don’t get in this country! Wonderful , competent , friendly service. My dog is up and waiting on his day to play. He hears van before it rounds corner and is at door ready to go. He loves his driver who is kind considerate and is very eager to get started on the trip. He returns happy and tired. I believe the grooming is less stressful and he looks great afterwards . Bruce runs a happy friendly service which has been well thought out with lots of safety features to keep your dog safe played with and cuddled. There is a lovely atmosphere and this is only good for the dogs. Have been using Bruce's for a few months now, one day a week for our Boston Terrier. Pick up and drop offs have always been in the time slots as promised and our little guy comes back pretty well worn out from a full day. They do a great job of looking after the dogs while they're there, especially if you ask them to look out for something in particular (our guy is pretty lively so the occasional timeout is needed). If you're in SW London and are struggling to find someone you can trust to look after your pooch then we'd certainly recommend checking out Bruce's. More...

Services

Your dog will spend their day playing, swimming, exploring and resting with their friends at the Day Care Centre.

The centre is split up into separate fields to ensure there are never too many dogs in one space, with plenty of constant supervision, love and attention.

There are heated buildings with dog beds and outdoor gazebos for shade, so the dogs can have a snooze when tired or race around to their hearts content.

Your dog will spend an action packed 2-3 hours at the Day Care Centre. This gives your dog a chance to enjoy the facilities, socialisation and stimulation at the Day Care Centre, without the expense of full day care.

When the dogs dropped home after lunch they are happily tired, and will sleep all afternoon until you return. We can keep a set of your keys, so you do not need to be home during this time. This service is only available to our Surrey clients.

We will look after your dog while you are away or on holiday. Your dog will live with one of the team in their home as a family pet and attend the Day Care Centre each day during the week.

As it’s important that we have an established relationship with every dog, our boarding service is only available to our Day Care clients who have an ongoing booking of at least 1 half day per week.

Our Day Care Centres offer the perfect environment for your puppy to grow and socialise. The pack acts as a natural extension of a litter and allows your puppy to socialise and interact with other puppies, whilst learning from the older, well behaved dogs.

Since we only accept social dogs and supervise the dogs constantly, your puppy will never be at risk of getting hurt or be a victim of rough play or bullying.

The day care centre is a place for friendly, social dogs. We do not attempt to be a training camp or behaviour centre. However, we know that even though our dogs are friendly and social, our clients often want to improve general training and behaviour in the home and at the park.

We have linked up with a few proven, experienced trainers that come recommended from numerous clients and vets. They are familiar with the day care environment, and can assist with one-to-one behaviour consultations or offer classes.
