Just completed a 10 day fitness challenge with Brightside and I'm amazed at how great I feel and how much I enjoyed it. It was so motivating to have a one-to-one knowledgeable & friendly coach, I didn't want the sessions to end. Zac's support along with the menu plans made it easy to keep on track. I went to the Novatel, straight from work (I declined the option of an early morning session lol). It was a great convenient venue, small but everything you need, somewhat relaxing next to the pool and not busy. I had visions of a busy gym with all these people pumping iron around me but not the case, I felt really comfortable. I'm considering trying the small group session next. More...

Great team who really get on well & share the best of their skills, knowledge & experience to ensure you get the best package for your own goals. Extremely flexible because you can go to any trainer for sessions and they also offer on-line/remote support. They share all information so even with a new trainer, they’ll know what you did last session & what you’re trying to achieve without having to go over it again. The advice is consistent, with a variety of different exercises, or stick to that same ones if you prefer to be able to check progress on one theme. There’s a great team at Brightside personal training. Since I’ve been with them I’ve lost over 2 stone in weight, they’ve fixed a back problem I’ve had for over 10 years and they’ve helped me get my 5km run time down from 27min to 21mins. Brightside is not just another gym, from the moment I first walked into the studio two and a half years ago I could tell it was different. I instantly felt relaxed and like I could be myself and not worry about not looking "perfect" when training . For me it has become part of my every day life and I never thought when I didn't do exercise I would miss it but I do.
Both the private and group sessions are great , they are always fun and always varied. The guys are so motivational, friendly and professional and thanks to them I have achieved things I never thought possible and they have made me believe in myself and they are always ready to give advice when you lack motivation or struggling to stay on Track with food .
I would highly recommend Brightside to anyone who is looking for a more personal and friendly gym to train in.

I started wanting to get fit for my sons wedding in 3 months. I achieved not only the figure I wanted but learnt so much about exercises and good food choices.
The team are helpful, motivating and have a great sense of humour.
I stopped going for a few weeks and never thought I would miss it soooo much. I will be rejoining.
Recommend Brightside to everybody I see and thank them all, not only for the physical impact on me but improvement on my mental health and stress reduction.

I trained with Heather at their site in Whiteley. I am a 57 year old couch potato and Heather was brilliant and coaxing me out of my slothful ways. The gym is small but has everything you need and is almost always empty - which when you are doing stretches such as 'happy baby' is a blessing!! Heather was always cheerful and encouraging and her workouts were varied and increasingly difficult as my fitness improved. I would wholeheartedly recommend Brightside if you have never had a personal trainer, and Heather in particular if you want to smile while you sweat! :-)

I contacted Brightside when I had a hip injury in January 2014.

As a competitive triathlete with sights set on World championships, I wanted to ensure my rehab was done properly and completed as quickly as possible.

Paul made the initial assessment of my injury with stretching, gentle movements and watching my technique. The first session was also free!

I was sent away with a structured plan of rehabilitation exercises and another session booked. Within the first few sessions, progress was made and my running technique was improving - 2 in 1 benefits!

It was my decision to continue for a full 10 sessions which was beyond the requirement for my injury but the benefits of Brightside's knowledge was reflected in my running pace and ability.

I can't recommend Brightside enough for either injury rehab as I had but also for any general or targeted fitness. I regularly stick my head in to say hello as its such a friendly atmosphere and look forward to the summer park sessions and magic mile they host.

Love it! In eighteen months I've reduced my cholesterol, blood sugar and weight to healthy levels without taking a pill or going on a crazy diet! Doing the National Three Peaks Challenge and a Tough Mudder with the guys this year was absolutely brilliant!

I started training with Brightside PT twelve months ago. The initial plan was to improve my flexibility and, in particular, the function of my posterior chain which has not benefitted from sitting working at a desk. This seemed to go reasonably well, so seven months back I decided to try out some new objectives. I proposed aiming towards some gymnastic skills – on the basis that these would be more interesting (even “cool”) than merely running a little faster or lifting a little more weight. I will freely admit that I am significantly older (48) and taller (6’ 3) than the typical gymnast (nor am I known for my grace in movement) – but Dan seemed confident that at least some of these skills should be achievable. I had my doubts, but Dan has been proved right – and I can now perform feats hanging from bars and rings (often upside-down) that I would never have believed possible back in in the Spring. Manoeuvres, e.g. the back lever, which once looked inconceivable now seem feasible with achievement (perhaps) only a few weeks away.

My two sessions per week have come to divide naturally, starting with a general strength, endurance and flexibility session with Dan at the Novatel. This provides the key foundation on which everything else is built. The second session with Eliza at the studio then focuses on the specific gymnastic skills through a series of structured progressions. I practise what I can on the days between – life permitting. This has produced frankly amazing progress – and been enormous fun. I am fitter (and more ripped) than I have ever been and can perform feats no normal man of my age should probably attempt. However, with a little hard work and the help and support of Brightside PT, I encourage you all to find your inner gymnast!

I hate exercise, but realise if I am to stay healthy and eat nice food I have to do it!!

Having tried many personal trainers I was refreshing surprised at how the guys at Brightside work

They manage to keep this exercise shy person comming back week after week and month after month. Their approach of constantly changing what you are doing and their suport in refining any movement to get the very best out of it works!

If you are expecting your PT to set you up on the treadmill, followed by the stepper, followed by a row all for 20 minutes thats the complete opposite to Brightside. They tailor your exercises which change everytime you go to meet your needs and goals.

Its too easy to go to the same person time after time and do the same thing. At Brightside you change trainers each time, which for me stops me getting bored

They will give you a plan to do on your own and help with diet advice if you want

A lovely group who put up with my moaning and groaning with a smile on their faces and bags of encouragment

Love them! Love them even more now they are in Whiteley too!

I first went to see Paul at Brightside to help improve my running. As a sprint distance triathlete (55-59 age group) I was average at 5k distance and usually slowed towards the end of the race. After 10 weeks training with Paul I competed in the World Triathlon Championships in London (2013) coming 15th in my Age Group (out of 85) and was the fourth fastest female runner!! Since then I have won Bronze Medal in the British Triathlon Sprint Championships, came 6th in the European Championships in Kitzbuel and 14th in the World Championships in Edmonton Canada in September 2014. My running is still improving and my cycling training with Brightside helped increase strength and technique for the Austrian Alps. Every single session is different, challenging and I come away stronger and fitter. I cannot recommend Brightside and Paul and his knowledgeable team enough - they have transformed me from a completer to a competer! As a bonus, I have also lost 5kg in weight, gained muscle and am very pleased with my new six-pack!! More...

I had a great experience with Brightside. They helped me achieve my personal goals (in my case, they got me ready for a 50 mile cycle), and they tought me how to adjust my gym routine to make it more varied and fun. Definitely recommended!
