If you are looking for photos that are UNIQUE and customized to your relationship- look no further the photographer of your dreams does exist! Brigette rocks for many reasons, she has an amazing personality, awesome sense of style and of course an eclectic yet modern approach to photography that is unlike anything I’ve ever seen!When I started looking at wedding photographers I researched a ton! The price ranges were from $699 all the way up to 5k (just to see what that was all about). When I found Brigette she stood out to me because her photos stood out from the rest! A lot of the photographers I researched were good but they all had the same “posey” & “A-Typical” look to them- even the higher priced photographer just had the same look and everything blended together. Brigette’s photography captures the essence of the people in the photo and builds around that. No couple will ever have the same photo because she brings out that individuality in that moment- which to me is priceless!She was very accommodating and met with my husband and I first for coffee and went over the vibe I was going for. After meeting with her that sealed the deal and we booked her for our wedding! We also booked an engagement session with her which was amazing! She surprised us and brought along a little Bluetooth speaker and played out first dance song “Golden Hour” during the golden hour we were taking pictures in! Talk about going the extra mile! If I ever need professional pictures done again I will defiantly be using Brigette. Brigette did an absolutely incredible job shooting our wedding. From making sure we were organized before the big day, to being flexible getting to different locations, to making everyone comfortable and encouraging a fun shoot, Brigette was perfect. Our pictures turned out so much better than I even expected. She captured some sweet more serious moments, and also everyone having a total ball. She was also able to get a second shooter that made it possible to get more quality shots. Her second shooter Claire also was a great hype woman! My fiance and I are recently engaged and were in the process of moving out of state when it all happened. Where to start!?! We can’t say enough great things about Brigette. For one, VERY PROFESSIONAL. Always on time if not early, awesome personality and got along great with all family and vendors. My husband and I were so pleased with our end result of both engagement and wedding day photos. Brigette is an amazing photographer! Looking through her portfolio, you can clearly see how beautiful her photos are, but you can’t see what a pleasure she is to work with. From start to finish, she caters to the individual needs of the couple. Brigette photographed our engagement shoot and wedding day, and we are so happy with her work. She is very easy-going, fun to work with, and incredibly professional. Her creativity and artistic mindset make it easy for awkward posers (such as myself!) to come out with beautiful and natural-looking photos. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
For me the secret is to get to know your clients and form a relationship with them! I put a strong emphasis on that as I feel it helps me understand my clients better and also help them feel more relaxed, which in return results in stunning photos! I do some poses, however, I am much more into getting my clients to interact naturally and get a candid of them in the moment! I am all about energy and movement in my photos so often I will be giving small little tasks for my clients to do, to help get expressions of them naturally in a moment!
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I will often ask first what drew you to my work so I have an understanding of what you really love about my work to make sure it portrays across in your images. I like to find out a little about you, your family, your lover, your interests! This gives me a solid foundation of who you are and can ignite ideas for props, locations, etc.
What do you love most about your job?
Oh my goodness, EVERYTHING! =D I love that I get to live out my passion every single day! I love the creativity, the process, and the final product of the craft. I love seeing the end result, after everything that goes into it. By far my favorite thing though is the connections I make with people and my clients all around the world! I have made some amazing friendships, had some super memorable times, & have been able to document important moments in people's life that they treasure forever. Nothing is cooler than that.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have absolutely LOVED taking photos my whole entire life. From the time I bought my first camera at 11 years old, I was always the one snapping away capturing vacations, family moments, and my friends. In high school I started taking Photography classes, and then in College I really found my love for it while pursuing my art degree. I have always been very adventurous and outdoorsy, so I have been able to tie together my love for nature and exploring in my photographs today!
Why should our clients choose you?
When choosing a photographer, I want my client to be confident with their choice and not just choose me because they like my photos. I want them to feel a connection with me upon our first time speaking. I pride myself in my connections with my clients, and work on creating a meaninful realtionship, that goes beyond photos. I will be personable, relaxed, & make planning as easy and fun as possible for you! I care about our relationship, the little details, & your happiness as much as I care about getting you those epic photos!
On the education side of things, I received my bachelors degree in Art from the University of Iowa with a focus on photography! I have interned with several leading Chicago land area photographers in the past few years, and I have invested in high end adventure wedding photography workshops across the United States! I have invested a lot in my training, gear, and education in regards to the photography field and feel very confident in the foundation I gained from it all!
