We worked with Bradley Built on our new, old Oak Park home. Like most Oak Park homes, there were some structural issues that needed to be addressed. A previous owner had enclosed the front porch but hadn't added the necessary support, so we had to have a cross beam sistered. There were also a couple "temporary" support beams that had been in our basement for a very long time and needed to be replaced with real support beams. Jeremy is a long time resident of Oak Park and is super familiar with dealing with these types of issues. They seemed alarming to us, but he was very reassuring and knowledgeable. Jeremy and his guys were quick and efficient. More...

Worked with Bradley Built during a gut rehab project for a 2 flat. He was always very prompt to answer our questions, all of the work was completed in a timely manner, and it was quality work. We initially hired him for one apartment only, but loved his work and ended up hiring him to complete our carpentry work for our home! One of the few contractors I can honestly recommend! More...

Jeremy did an excellent job installing a dryer vent for our second floor laundry hookup at our home. He was fast to respond, provided an accurate and reasonable quote, charged cost for the materials (although minimal in this case), and came on-time, per our arrangement. He was also friendly and efficient, finishing the work faster than I expected, with good quality, and keeping me updated real-time on work completed and work to-be-done.Two more items to note - my yelp request was sent on a Friday and he performed the installation on a Sunday, as I had asked to have this completed as soon as possible. No up charge. Second, he seemed to have substantial knowledge and experience in building homes, which was also helpful for several other items we were looking into at our home. I would highly recommend Jeremy and Bradley Built for your project. More...

Just had Jeremy at Bradley Built do a large project for me in a 2200 SF commercial space. He knocked down some walls, removed flooring, did some minor electrical work and actually introduced us a to another vendor to finish off some drywall and painting work. He has just been amazing to work with. He was ALWAYS in communication with us and even helped us go back and forth with our Building Association on getting our project(s) approved. He really went above and beyond. He sent us daily update photos of our space so we could track progress. If anything came up that he thought we should know about he called us right away to clarify what we wanted done. We could not ask for more. We even met a few of his workers in our space and they were delightful as well AND Jeremy was hands-on with the whole project, he wasn't just subcontracting our work out. We were very impressed and will definitely be using Jeremy at Bradley Built in the future. This was a large project in our eyes, and Jeremy really made the process a breeze for us. More...

Jeremy is a very good general contractor. Jeremy renovated our kitchen and two bathrooms - and we are very happy with the results. He works with subcontractors who are very skilled in their respective crafts (especially his tile guys!). Jeremy was personally responsible with re-finishing our kitchen cabinets which were oak, and he painted white. He was also personally responsible for building a beautiful new, long counter for our kitchen.

In addition to the quality of the work, Jeremy is a very nice and honest person, which is extremely important when you are working with someone who will be in your home for weeks/months. In addition, he was amenable to adding small projects to our scope. At one time, there was a leak in a bathroom pipe (we believe due to some funky old piping in our building) and Jeremy came over immediately to cap it.

With such a positive experience with Jeremy, I am not giving 5 stars because of project timing. There were issues with securing subcontractors in a timely manner, so some aspects of our renovation took much longer than expected.

I own a property management company and we were rehabbing a condo in a building downtown. We got into a bit of a jam with the bathroom tiling and needed some help. ..Quickly. I reached out to a few contractors or vendors that could do tile, and do it well, and who were also available to do it on short notice. We did have a few vendors reach out to us, and decided to go with Bradley Built. One of the things that I was impressed with is that they did not use the fact that I was in a pinch and needed it done quickly as a reason to either gouge me on the price or to try to make me feel like they were doing me a favor by "allowing me to hire them." In fact, Jeremy (the owner) sent me a very fair bid for what we needed, and actually came back to me and said something to the effect of (paraphrasing here) "I know you are in a pinch and over-budget, and I want to help you out, so if you need me to, I can work with you a little more on the price to help you out."Well, he was right...We were a little over-budget due to circumstances that had nothing to do with him, so I told him that we didn't need any further consideration on the price, as his initial bid was very fair...All that I asked is that he promised to do a good job and to get the job done in a timely manner...And they delivered. They finished in 4 days and did everything perfectly. The tiler, Wilson, is very good and very detail oriented, which is becoming rare in the contracting industry. The owner, Jeremy, came through on the last day to do a walk-through with me to make a list of any items that I wanted addressed before they finished. We came up with a small list of things that were taken care of in about 2 hours, and then we were done.I am not the easiest nor the most difficult person for contractors or sub-contractors to work with, but Jeremy and his crew are very customer service oriented, which was very awkward for me, because I am used to working with people who are constantly fighting with me or my staff and screwing things up.Bottom line, these guys did a great job in a timely manner, and were very fairly priced...I will use them again, and would recommend them to others for sure. I began researching a handyman on a Sunday to do a few tasks I had to get done. I filled out a yelp form sent it to 4 companies, and Bradley Built got back to me quickly, long before anyone else did. The price he gave me turned out to be less than the  other company's who responded. He wanted pictures of what I needed done, so when he arrived a couple of days later, he knew exactly what to bring. I live downtown Chicago and workers in the past don't like to deal with the traffic or parking, and turn the job down. He didn't mind, and even arrived on time. The work was done quickly and efficiently, and looks great. Bradley Built is a real pro and this whole project couldn't have been any easier. More...

I was able to get a quote for replacing an over-the-range microwave and schedule the appointment through Yelp messages without any issues. The other handyman services I had contacted quoted much higher prices and didn't have availability for weeks, however Jeremy was able to give me an appointment the next day with a much more reasonable quote. They arrived on time and were able to remove the old microwave and install the new one in about an hour. They were very professional and personable. They cleaned up after themselves and made sure the cabinet doors cleared the bumper of the microwave before finishing up.There were no surprises with the bill as they charged me precisely what that had quoted. I was also able to get the invoice emailed to me, make the payment online, and get a digital copy of the receipt which I really appreciated. Ever had a contractor that you DIDN'T want to leave? Ever had one finish the job ahead of schedule and beyond your wildest expectations? I was pretty surprised that Bradley Built, who came in the lowest of all the remodelers we vetted, was all that and more.

We have a 1941 home with an almost-unusable 1941 bathroom -- well, we HAD that. Before Jeremy, it was disgusting -- moldly, dusty, mildewy, dated and poorly "updated" by the non-expert, previous owner. It was not a place we wanted to spend time or ever thought we would be proud of. But we fell in love with Jeremy by Day 2, and quickly discovered that HE is what makes the difference between a finished project and a WOW one.

Still, while the beautiful end product is important, the day-to-day of a contractor living in your home is also significant. Having had a pipe burst in the house a few years ago, I know that contractors taking over your home can make a Type-A like me very unsettled and unhappy, and that's what I expected this time around, too. It's why I waited almost two years to go forward with this project. But my dread was unnecessary -- we had a totally different experience with Jeremy.
,
He is cheerful and laid back with an obsessive attention to detail and big respect for your time, home and money. I anticipated a mess in my home, dust and dirt everywhere, sloppy work I'd have to call attention to, nagging him to remember things we'd agreed to, haggling over line items, a shitty attitude and a major lag-time. None of this could be further from our experience. Jeremy geeks out on customer service, and it really pays off.

Every morning, he would text us his plans for the day; then we'd receive updates throughout the day and another sometimes at night. We got to see his passion for the art of things and dedication to doing it right as the project came to fruition, but whenever we were onsite at the same time as Jeremy, he'd also show us the details I never would have known to look for -- and those details are what made this transformation so incredible. Now I get how some people's remodels can look like they're essentially made of money, while others give off the impression that it doesn't cost a lot to remodel your home! In short, your budget can only take you so far, and then you need to make sure you have a "Jeremy" in your corner to work his magic.

Whether it was lining up tile exactly, matching different woods or marbles perfectly, adding shelving that wasn't in the estimate because he felt it would be a good touch (of course he ran it by us first and we agreed), building in a lip to allow water to run off a recessed window (and saving us future mold problems), working around an original arch that others told us to get rid of, or giving us recos and tips and hacks and so forth, Jeremy brought so much unexpected value to the project. In essence, he of course got us excited about the "after," but he also managed to get us excited about the day-to-day, too.

Jeremy loves his craft, and we love Jeremy. We've already asked him to give us a quote on our next bathroom project -- that's how good this one was. Thank you Jeremy!!

I had Bradley Built out to install a small, custom-sized door on a crawl space in my basement. Jeremy was easy to communicate with and accommodating to getting me onto his team's schedule during the busy 4th of July holiday. Things got off to a bit of a shaky start as the job was to start at 10am and the carpenter didn't arrive until 12:30pm. Jeremy did let me know that the carpenter would be about an hour late due to the door they ordered not being in quality condition, but was a bit out of the loop on the additional hour and a half wait time. Once the carpenter did arrive, things went well. He was respectful, clean and as quiet as he could be. He finished the door nicer than was expected and brought in additional tools to ensure that the door fit perfectly into the custom space. Once he left, the area was spotless. Despite the arrival hiccup, I would definitely recommend the Bradley Built team and will be working with them in the future! More...

He was always up for the challenge, never gave us a hard time about "one more thing" and billed us very reasonably. Not long ago after some bad contractor experiences,  I was telling someone that the next billionaire will come from someone cracking the code having a contractor/remodeler that communicates, does what they say they'll do, goes above and beyond and has meticulous, high-touch attention to detail. Well, that was before I met Jeremy and Bradley Built. He has been working on a complex fireplace remodel that requires not just taking down the old mantel and a new one, but includes crafting a detailed TV encasement over the stone fireplace with the doors on a pulley system. He has installed the mantel, figured out some wonky measurements, used his carpentry skills to fit the mantel and build the TV encasement and tiled the inside of the firebox. He is patient with us as we ask questions, wonder about things and change course on various things. He is also a licensed electrician in the area which came in handy when we hit a speedbump on a light he was hanging and rather than bring an electrician in, he was able to tackle it on his own. We are finishing up the work, now and once I have finished pictures I will post. Also, we have him bidding on other work in the house, which is the best testament to having a contractor that does what he will say he will and more. I recommend Bradley Built and Jeremy to the highest degree. More...
