I very much enjoy their food and customer service, good location close to my apartment. The staff members are always super friendly. I highly recommend this place.
I lived in Germany and am always trying to find authentic German food.. this place was amazing... had goulash. Daughter had Schnitzel and was in heaven!!!
A wonderful restaurant with great food for a great price. Service was excellent from the wait staff to the owner. All made us feel like old friends. I had the jeager schnitzel with mushroom sauce. A perfect meal. Looking forward to returning. More...
We have visited Bonta numerous times, always being warmly welcomed. Food is consistently very tasty and good value. It's one of our favorite restaurants here in the desert.
Group of 7. Excellent service. Good Chianti. Spaghetti & Meatballs was delicious. Ambiance excellent.
Love this place and the owners. Great food
Great mix of German and Argentine dishes.
Food & service was great!
Really great place Friendly service Great food
Every meal here is perfection. That is one reason we keep coming back. In fact this was our second night in a row. Another reason is that the owners Hector and Petra make you feel so at home. Good value. A must try.
Food good but service slow and inattentive...table always seemed messy and cluttered...drinks placed ANYWHERE and very slow to get water refills and orders...
German - Argentinian cuisine. Nothing fancy but good food and reasonably priced
Excellent food and wonderful staff. Highly recommend it. Will go back often.
Great experience! Food was ok. The server absolutely made it worth it! Will come back and try the pot roast they were out of.
Phenomenal traditional fare....empanadas de carne and shnitzel....how can you go wrong? Make reservations to make sure you get a table. The staff is friendly and food is amazing. More...
Very good real German food..high quality..nice services..a must in the valley!!!!
Great food, inviting atmosphere, our go to place away from downtown.
Food is consistently wonderful, the restaurant is lovely, and the owners as well as the entire staff work hard to make sure everyone has a great experience.
You cannot find a better, friendlier, tastier place to dine. We go here over and over again. You will leave here feeling happy every time.
Very busy night but service was still good and the food excellent!
Chef Hector and his team does an amazing job here. Authentic flavors and friendly environment.
Good service and very tasty German food.
Bonta has a decent mix of Argentinian, German and Italian menu options, the food has been consistently good and it remains a go-to option for a casual meal when I'm in town. I do wish they had a wider variety of empanadas, asado & other typical Argentinian dishes like choripan, matambre, lomo, milanesas and so on however. For a livelier environment, I recommend going when they have live music or their flamenco nights (why they aren't tango or chamame nights I'm not sure). More...
So surprised to find authentic German food in the area! Schnitzel and rouladin are worth coming back for. Wine list needs improvement. Couldn't believe they had Copper Canyon on the list, eben at the bottom end Very good service, though! More...
Great staff, food and atmosphere!
Excellent food and great service with a warm and inviting room.
The sea bass is scrumptious! Highly recommended. Service is great!
We’ve eaten at Bonta before, but I can NEVER remember getting better service. Our server was delightful. He got us cocktails from the bar and allowed us to visit with no pressure. He knew we were going to a play at CV Rep afterwards and approached our table to tell us he was about to take a large order from another table and suggested we order before the larger order was placed to ensure we received our meal more quickly and to give us enough time to eat before the theatre. He had a wonderful personality with a great sense of humor and continued to check on us throughout our stay. The best! More...
Our first time. A varied menu of Argentinian, Italian, German. Something for everyone to try. The restaurant is very lively with high ceilings, so a bit loud and festive. Not for a romantic, quiet dinner. Our meals were very good. Service was better than most restaurants. We'll probably return with people we know would really appreciate the eclectic menu. Definitely check it out if you haven't been. More...
We always enjoy eating at Bonta. The German plate is our favorite, but we also enjoy the 2kinds of schnitzels. There is something here for everyone, German, Argentinian, Italian, and a variety of fish dishes. This coupled with a friendly staff and almost always the owners stop by to say hi and make sure everything was to your liking. Never leave without having the best strudel outside of Germany and Austria. An excellent family run restaurant awaits you. Now with the CVRep theater next door, it may be best to make reservations. Catch a meal before or after a performance. More...
Good food and good service. Petra and Chef Hector are the best. Friendly and accommodating with special requests..
Great local restaurant. Good portions for share. Overall excellent choice with reasonable prices
We enjoyed our meal at Bonta from the beginning to the end. Our waitress was very friendly and checked on us frequently. There were many options on the menu that sounded interesting and we had a hard time deciding what to order. Our meal was excellent and prepared well. We look forward to returning and trying other items on the menu. More...
The very best apple strudel in the area.
It was a very nice restaurant, quite busy for a Wed evening. Good friendly service. German and Argentine menu. Has Happy Hour.
I like the sausage with the saurcraft that they serve. The owner is very friendly. Come to check it out and you will not be disappointed.
Very good and reasonable for the bar menu.
The food and drink was very good
Delicious empanadas and dippi g sauce!
Wonderful staff! Friendly and attentive! Varied menu and great preparation! We will definitely return! Thank you!
The skirt steak was really good. Dessert was good too.
Once again a most enjoyable time with Petra and Hector !! Qe are blessed with such excellent cuisine and service here in our valley!
Good food, reasonably priced. So so atmosphere.
Excellent good and service.
Great German and Argentine Food, very friendly and attentive staff.
Love this restaurant it never disappoints. German food is fantastic
Servers could use a bit more training, but the food is excellent.
Bonta is becoming one of my favorite restaurants in the Palm Springs area. The Argentinian dishes are unique and excellent. Their Italian dishes are very good too. The service is outstanding. I will be back. More...
My 4 guests and I enjoyed our food and the service here during our Film festival weekend. Food highlights were the Sole, Piccata, and Empanadas.
This restaurant has an eclectic mix of food items, all cooked to perfection by a talented chef. If you appreciate tradition Austrian/German food, the sauerbraten with red cabbage and spatzle was incredible. I felt like I was back in my Oma's house. My husband had fantastic meatballs, with a delicious sauce. Yes-Italian and German both perfect. This is a beautiful melding of an Argentinian chef and his Austrian wife! Our only regret was that we were too full to eat a piece of apple strudel, which was apparently just out of the oven! More...
Bonta is one of our favorite restaurants. The owners are very involved in making sure you are comfortably enjoying their delicious cuisine! And it is delicious!
Outstanding friendly service. Nice ambience, nothing elaborate. Food was cooked “home style” which for the most part was good, generous portions, but no “wow” factor in any of the 4 dishes we tried. Prices are comparable to some higher end local fine dining restaurants, so it seemed a bit overpriced. More...
Service was great but they were out of sauerbratten and meatloaf, exactly what we came for. Very disappointing.
The food at Bonta is exceptional!!! Chef Hector and Petra are the greatest hosts, we love going there !!
The owners were sooo nice! The happy hour menu was unusual and fun,not to mention delicious!! I will be back for the ambience, great food and owners make u feel like you are at their home
They advertise as "comfort food" and it is more than that, it is a dinning adventure. From the pasta dishes to the Argentinian BBQ the offer will make any patron happy. The Argentinian BBQ is just amazing, the meat perfectly cooked to your taste and promptly brought to you.The restaurant owners make sure all their customers are well taken care of.It is a great place to dine if you are in the area. Bonta is just far enough away from downtown to make parking a breeze. And for us locals during season, that's key. Love the owners. Lovely people. Excellent food. The Chicken Parm is as good as my Italian mom's. Love the twist Hector does on the Chopped Salad. Drinks good. Go. You won't be disappointed More...
The staff and food was amazing!
Food and service was excellent as usual. Staff was very attentive. Casual and comfortable atmosphere.
The ham and cheese spatzle was great!
Finally, attentive staff. Food quality is some of the best in the area
The best Bruscetta I have ever had.
What a pleasant surprise. Outstanding service and terrific food. Varied menu Cooked with care. We will add this restaurant to our regular list. Speaking of lists the wine list could use a little help. More...
This is one of those places that is so friendly you feel like you are eating with family. Top-notch food service and friendliness. We often go there several times a week. More...
Tonight we tried the Argentinian side of the menu. Started with the bruschetta appetizer which was crispy and flavorful, the balsamic was a little spicier which is a nice change from normal. Entrees we had Argentinian chicken and gaucho pasta. Both were quite good. The chicken was very crispy with lots of flavor with a chimichurri sauce, Gaucho pasta was it a little bit spicy and full of flavor. Our service was outstanding both from the host and our server. I wish this restaurant was closer to our home as it is kind of tucked away by the Mary Pickford theater. It was a memorable birthday and we will definitely be back. More...
Great food, very attentive service. We went for the first time and will definitely come back.
Great food and service
Malia VN Dailey
The hospitality and good food as well as a super bartender. It's our go to place where we always feel happy.
Great good good selection
Good food and service.
Nice service, Great Food.
My family and I enjoyed our night out at Bonta's and the food was very good. The service is a little bit slow, the noise level is a little bit high, and we were disappointed that the restaurant didn't offer a children's menu. We did order a 1/2 pasta dish for my granddaughter that was still big, but my grandson had to order from the regular menu and the portion was way too much for him.Luckily, we were going back home after dinner so we were able to box the rest and take it with us. More...
Unfortunately there was a hot air balloon event happening at the adjacent property, so that created chaos and a lot of very loud noise from a band, which they had no control over but it affected our dining experience. We chose to dine early to take advantage of the early bird three-course meal special but we were told that it was not in effect on the weekend. It did not state this on their online menu and the server and hostess acknowledge that but said they could not provide the special, so that was a little disappointing but we made the best of it. You were able to purchase a salad with any entree for a small fee. All the food was fresh and delicious prepared on site. We all enjoyed our schnitzel, meatloaf, goulash and pasta. We likely will go back again but next time on a weekday when we can take advantage of the 3 course special. More...
The most delicious food in the valley. Great family owned and run! We will be back soon!
As always enjoyed both the meal and the ambiance. The waiter was excellent and the owner always a delight to talk to. The chief came to our table which is always a nice touch. Would recommend.
WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE, EXTENSIVE GREAT MENU,FOOD WAS AMAZING
Great neighborhood place, unpretentious and comfortable!
Bonta is a unique gem. It has everything. Great service (genuinely appreciated our business), well prepared and presented food, and nice clean and friendly atmosphere. It’s one of the few restaurants where you walk out feeling like you got your money’s worth. More...
The food was very nice, specially the empanadas, but the server was a little bit "off" that night. Although, she was professional and friendly. I think that they don't have enough people to attend to the costumers when the restaurant is busy. The place is very noisy since there are no partitions between the tables. Since two of the people in my party had hearing problems, it was hard to have a normal conversation. My husband and I were a little bit disappointed that the Argentinean menu only offered one meat (skirt steak) dish, no flan, and that the bread pudding had cinnamon (not an Argentinean way to prepare that desert). More...
First time eating at Bonta and very happy with the quality of food, the attentive service and the beautiful ambiance. I had the jaeger schnitzel and it was delicious !
Wonderful food and wonderful people. Highly recommend...
Food was great!
Nice restaurant with Italian and German and some Argentinian food choices all very good. Owners are very nice and friendly and the service is very good.
The owners of Bonta are friendly and outgoing and make an effort to make their customers feel welcome. The quality of the food is excellent and there is a selection of food from different countries that is tasty and moderately priced. Overall, I rate this a first-rate restaurant worth trying. More...
Excellent food! Great service! Just good solid place! Petra always makes us feel like we are coming “home”! Have the cucumber martini, beef goulash, and the strudel!
My husband and I tried the Argentinean menu; it was our first time in this restaurant. His skirt steak was juice and tender and the french fires were not soggy or oily. I had the Mediterranean shrimps and it was delicious. The presentation of the food was really nice.We had the empanadas trio as an appetizer (we had two of them), and we took one empanada and ordered another trio to take home. It was my husband birthday and the server brought the desert with a candle, and we all celebrated the occasion. The bar tender was also very nice and brought a taste of two different Riesling wine for me to choose. We are planning to go back to try the German menu. It was a little bit noisy for us, but the good food and the service was very good. More...
Very nice restaurant with a great menu of Argentinian, German, and Italian cuisine. We were there to celebrate our friend's birthday (there were also 2 other birthday celebrations while we were there!). It was great to have such a wide range of menu items to select from.I had their Lentil Soup and pork Weiner Schnitzel with red cabbage and fries. It was excellent. The meat was cooked perfectly and was moist and tender. One friend had the ham and cheese Spaetzil. (I'm probably murdering the spelling ). Again, perfectly prepared and delicious. He also ordered their cucumber martini to drink and the chicken Empanadas for an appetizer. They both were excellent. The Empanadas were flaky with a great filling served with a great sauce. Another friend had the Argentinian half chicken with fries and tomato / onion salad. Again, it was perfectly prepared and delicious. The other friends had the Caesar Salad and goulash which they split. The salad was fresh and beautifully served. The goulash was very great. For the birthday boy, they brought the bread pudding. It was light, wet, and delicious totally unlike that served at other places it is like a hunk of concrete.Overall, everyone had a great time and said that they would definitely come back soon. They closed for the summer but opened starting September 1st. We were there on the 2nd and the place was full. I'd highly recommend reservations, we used Open Table. The owners are from Argentina and Germany, so everything is authentic. I can't wait to see what they offer for the upcoming holidays!Plenty of parking and very attentive service. Definitely a great place to eat! More...
Very, very good.
Very good food and service. We'll be back.
Whenever we go to Bonta’s the owners treat us like family. We live in Palm Desert but the food and friendly atmosphere always make the trip worthwhile.
We had not heard of Bonta when it was suggested for a birthday dinner. Looking at their website and menu selection I knew it was a place to try. We did not regret it. Petra (one of the hosts/owner) greeted us with a smile and as if we were old friends...the entire staff seem to have the same attitude to the diners. Vanessa (our server) was attentive and responded to our needs. The food was phenomenal. Fresh and well prepared with the just right amount seasoning...try the Empanadas. Can't wait to get more. The mixture of Argentine and German/Austrian menu was just right in providing a variety of flavors and textures.Thank you Petra and company....we look forward to our next meal at Bonita. More...
Excellent skirt steak and empanadas
Love this place! My sister and I ate dinner here for the first time and we loved the food and the service. We had the pesto fries to start and they were hot and delicious. We used the bread to scoop up the last of the sauce. Then we had the Argentine skirt steak that had incredible flavor and the roulade that was tender and so good. We finished with the apple strudel that was a perfect ending to a fantastic meal. Everyone was so friendly and nice ...made us feel so welcome More...

Loved the food. The service was very friendly. The cocktails were delicious. The dessert was great as well. Loved everything about this place.
First tried Bonta with our tennis group. The owners were very accommodating to our group of 10. Service was very good, with a personal touch. The dishes were visually appealing and delicious. My second experience at Bonta was for their special when they were serving mussels. They were delicious! Highly recommend it. More...
We had a wonderful dinner & it was great to see the Restaurant fully booked. Only down fall was with the high ceilings & open space, the noise level was distraction to enjoy conversation with dinner.

A great experience from greeting to exit. It looks a bit "fancy" on the outside, and it's definitely got a "nice" place decor inside, but it still has a casual feel. We were not dressed for a more formal place, and they welcomed us with open arms.Friendly front staff, excellent waitstaff - happy and pleasant.Food was very tasty. Not spectacular, but very very good.It was recommended by several people in the area.Well worth a visit. More...
Desert gem and local's favorite. Argentinian born owner chef Hector serves reasonably priced delights in a casual relaxed atmosphere. Walk to the cinema before or after. Super Happy Hour, too. More...
Unexpected, is the best word I have to explain the way I feel about Bonta. My cousin wanted to take me out for my birthday and I went googling to find the perfect Mediterranean grub. Bonta came up with an almost 5 stars so off we went. I looked kinda swanky and we were dressed rather casual. Upon arrival, we we're greeted by the nicest hostess and I later discovered she was the owners wife. We weren't made to feel uncomfortable at all. She as well as all the wait staff were super attentive and courteous. I had the fish and chips, yes, I know, not very Mediterranean at all, and my cousin had the French Onion soup and Cesar Salad, yes, I know... Not Mediterranean. The fish was very crunchy, loved it, and delicious. However, gotta say hands down the French Onion soup turned out to be out of this world. Probably isn't what the chef was expecting as a kudos but if you are a connoisseur, like me, don't miss out on this opportunity! More...
Great food and staff The owners were very friendly and made sure everyone in the restaurant was well taken care of.
1st time there, Had schnitzel 1st time I've eaten there am I loved it and the people are friendly and warm I will return my daughter took me there for my birthday
Great food and drinks a very interesting and varied menu. Favorite appetizer are the beef empandas. Argentinan grilled chicken is my favorite dish.
The owners are so gracious and friendly, the food is AMAZING. If you like mussels you must try Chef Hectors.
Yummy German Italian Brazilian food. Sounds like a weird mishmash but works great.
International cuisine at high level. I am pleasant service.
Fun family place with a mix of European and Argentinian foods. Good portions with excellent presentation. Topped off with a descent bar.
Been here a couple of times. Great Happy Hour on Food and drinks. I think its from 3-6, but make sure to check. But good prices, so no complaints. Not many restaurants near our home in CC Cove, so its nice having this so close. More...

Great food, pleasent atmosphere. Was refreshing to see the owners interacting with the patrons and a genuine feeling of them being glad you were there.
Family owned business. Very friendly people. Great food and great service.
Nice place private cozy for celebrating with family. The chef comes to your table and chats with you about your meal. I will be going back maybe for Father's Day.
Very good schnitzel!
A little understaffed this time, but the bar food was tasty and hot, and the wine was cold. Nothing to complain about there.
Wonderful service, delicious food adds to a lovely evening
Excellent place food is amazing!! Love it !
Delicious food and fabulous service!!

Consistently good food, unobtrusive friendly service and pleasant decor.
Solid service and meals. Unusual mix of German andArgentinian food.
Great food and great service
Great food and atmosphere. And service is great
Great food and prices.
Driven by for years and never tried this place. The night we chose for our reservation happened to be incredibly busy for them; the place was packed! There was a banquet happening in a screened off area next to the dining room and in the main dining room all the tables were sat. About 10 minutes later we were acknowledged, and then a few minutes later we were actually greeted and a drink order as taken. The server was very knowledgeable about the "German Comfort Food" offered at Bonta and from then on the evening was back on track. The food was very good and all of our four top agreed we would come back. More...

Nice place , interesting menu featuring both German and Argentina food. We had the Empanada s, Wiener Schnitzel, and beef Roulade. All great, and they had a fixed bargain menu, too. Very attentive service! More...
Huge variety of food with something for everyone, including vegetarians. Service is so friendly and warm! Very generous portions and food is authentic and delicious! I will definitely return here.
The menu contains dishes from several cuisines (South American, Italian, German, etc.), and I can say that they're all executed well! My wife and I ordered the gnocchi bolognese, the Argentinean steak with chimichurri, and the German rouladen, so that we could try a little bit of everything, and we were not disappointed. We also had the bread pudding for dessert which was delicious (though my wife would have wanted it served a little hotter). I must also note that all of the staff was very friendly and the service was great. We're not from the area, but if we're ever back in town, we've decided that we will absolutely return to Bontá to sample more of the great cuisine! More...
Essen war OK!
Bonta is a great find for excellent and authentic Argentinian and German food. The service is great. We will be back!
Was greeted when we arrived which should be the norm but isn’t always at other restaurants. Friendly and attentive service, truly enjoyable food, and overall a great value. We were already planning next when we left. I highly recommend Bontá. My only criticism, which is just a minor footnote, is the noise level. With a full house it does get a little noisy but not at an uncomfortable level. More...
We really enjoyed our birthday experience at Bonta. The food is always excellent and the service is very friendly. Normally, I would rate the service as "excellent", but given that the restuarant was short handed, I still felt the service was still "very good".
Varied menu I went back the very next day after my first experience and attempted to go back a third day after recommending Bonta to another group of friends but they were closed as it was Monday. You’ll never know until you try it More...
Just a great experience! Both the staff and food are excellent! We can't wait to return.
Food was excellent. Service a little slow. Seems they might have been short handed. A party behind us was very loud and sometimes felt like we had to shout for our own table conversation.
Recommended by our concierge this was a great place. Food was authentic and staff and owner very friendly!
We wanted to give Bonita a second try as our first visit was Valentines evening and Bonita like most restaurants were overwhelmed on this dining evening. This sevond visit was lovely, food was what I had hoped for. We went with the German options -- a mixed sausage plate (bratwurst and Polish) for me and Wiener Schnitzel for my wife. Both entrees were quite good. We didn't order any soup, salad or dessert so can't speak for the rest of the menu. The space is relatively large and we were there on a Saturday night so it was full and lively. Service was prompt and courteous. Not in the category of truly fine dining but they advertise themselves as a comfort food place and that's close to right on. I would eat there again. More...

Great German dishes and Argentinean as well
Bonta is reliable “old world” dining without excessive prices, simple and always cooked fresh. Chef and his co host wife do everything possible to make food and dining experience warm, comfortable and satisfying. An upgrade in the wine section may be needed but everything else, especially the schinetzels, are worth the time and price of dining here. More...

It may sound odd, but this restaurant features Argentinian, German and Italian food. A friend of mine and I went before the theater around 6 PM. I was skeptical, even though my friend had been there before. He is Italian-American and he raved about the Italian food that he'd enjoyed on his previous visit. This time he chose the eggplant parmagiana and raved about it. I had a taste of it and it was excellent. I ordered the German schnitzel with spaetzle and red cabbage was authentic and delicious. I would go back in a heartbeat, but would want to try an Argentian dish. The service was attentive and very friendly. Ambrose, the bartender couldn't have been nicer. More...
Food was very good. Reminded me of my time living in Germany. Mushroom gravy was delicious and they willingly brought us an extra side. Other dishes looked good. Will return soon to try more. More...
It was great eating at Bonta. Busy night but as always Pedra and Hector was able to manage the room with style and grace. My favorite place to go in the desert.
Good food. Nice people. Great value for money. Simple wine list at a very reasonable price. Absolutely will be back.
We always enjoy Bonta! Hector is a fabulous cook and always comes up with delicious, creative dining options on the menu. Petra is charming and delightful and makes everyone feel welcome. The sole I had the other night was as good as I have ever had, at half the price of other restaurants! We are so glad they are here!!!! More...
Beautiful space, caring owners. Great wines and food!
We went for Happy Hour. All of us had Schnitzel Sliders. They were so good, we wished we could have eaten more. We also had twisted potatoes with chili- a great dish to share. One of our group said she could have eaten the whole dish by herself. There were 5 of us at the table. Kudos Hector, the sliders were perfection. Great time had by all.Judith F. Palm Springs More...
Excellent German food served in a nice, casual ambiance. The prices are reasonable as well. The staff is efficient and friendly, and the owners go around the tables to greet the guests. There are also Argentinian and pasta dishes on the menu, which we haven 't tried yet. The apple strudel is simply wonderful. By all means, give this place a try! More...
Yum yum and yum! Casual dining with upscale chef Hector at the helm to Ensure your visit!
Customer service is awesome! The owner is the chef and he creates the most amazing tasting entrees. Their brunch on weekends is the best!
Food was great

Locals know this is the best food in town.
Always love Bonta. The owners are the sweetest people and we feel so at home. Menu is great! Especially the appetizers and their schnitzels.
I love the bread pudding❤
When we go out for dinner Bonta is at the head of the list. Chef Hector and Petra are welcoming hosts. The food is extraordinary and not run-of-the-mill. I haven't had anything for dinner that was not very good. The Argentinian chicken with chimichuri is delicious as are all the German specialties. Good filet of sole too. More...
Enjoyable meal. Twilight menu is a good deal.

I love Bonta. Every time I had eaten there I have not been disappointed. Great food, service and ambiance.
Ambience was a little flat but the excellent service and fabulous cuisine made up for it. Owner/ chef Wes present and charming. We will definitely be back!
We dined here in honor of my spouses 63rd birthday. He had clam chowder soup, very lightly breaded sole fillet with perfectly steamed vegetables and moist bread pudding. I had Caesar salad, beef goulash with spaetzle and apple strudel.Everything was served in a timely manner and not rushed. Our server was attentive and responsive throughout our meal. The owner/chef Hector welcomed us once we were seated as well as his lovely wife who made us feel right at home. The Argentinian and Austrian hospitality was exceptional!Ten stars for a wonderful birthday celebration all around! We have plans of making this restaurant a monthly experience! More...
We really enjoyed this restaurant. Good German/Austrian food. Service was very good as was the food. Would return here
Enjoyed our first visit to this restaurant. Would return any time
Great surprise . The food and service were exceptional. The owner and chef visit each table
Food is excellent for the price with a nice bar. Service can be slow, so be prepared to wait for your food to come out of the kitchen. Otherwise, we love it . The owners are very cordial and friendly. More...
Food spectacular and delicious as always!
One of the best restaurants we have found on Open Table. I would award 4.9 stars only because nothing is perfect. Shrimp pasta la checca -- fresh, not farmed...cooked perfectly and served with fettuccini. Sole Rustica also a treat...mashed potatoes had a few very small lumps, indicating to me that they were "home-made". Both entrées under $20.00.The Goat Cheese Bruschetta were a good starter, but at $9.50 not the best value. Why do restaurants charge so much for bruschetta? No room for desert. Plan to return when we are again in Cathedral City. More...
The food is very authentic, well prepared and tasty. Service staff is very personable, attentive and accommodating.Only negative - lighting in the restaurant is a bit dismal and the use of tablecloths would really make things significantly nicer!
This was a last minute selection on a busy weekend. Finding a place was tough. the menu is very diverse and the service was great.
Very interesting Menu. Delighted to find and enjoy sauerbraten. Interesting combination of national cuisines. Friendly service. Good casual, group of friends out-for-a good time place. Especially good for large groups. More...
Have only been there once and that was over a year ago. We had 5 friends come over for cocktails and we made reservations at Bonta for Saturday night at 7:30. We arrived to find a bustling and busy restaurant with a nice buzz. The hostess who was also the owners wife saw one of our guests was on crutches and quickly re-arranged our table so he had more room , so thoughtful and caring ! The evening was wonderful, the food was excellent and delivered hot from the kitchen, soup or salad was a slight charge to include and worth the value ! At the end the owner's wife even offered to split up our bill among the three couples, again service beyond and an extraordinary amount of caring and detail ! GREAT FOOD, GREAT MENU SELECTION, NICE BUZZ, AMAZING VALUE AND WE WILL BE BACK AGAIN SOON. More...
This was our first time to eat at Bonta and we loved it!!! Our meals were exceptionally good!!! This is a gem of a place. The owners are super friendly. Our service was outstanding. The ambience could be improved upon, by changing the lighting, but everything else about Bonta was great! . We will tell others about it and we'll be back!!! :-) More...
As usual, superb food along with a great welcoming experience, dinner is an event!
Fantastic food and great personal service! It wasn't our first visit and will not be our last either. Don't miss it!!
I have eaten there several times and the food has always been consistently good. Love the ambiance and service always professional and good.
Since out first visit to this gem of a restaurant we have enjoyed many fabulous meals and bring all of our friends to it. Best food with a menu with something for everyone.
Menu is quite varied featuring German and Italian dishes, as well as a couple of Argentinian entrees, and some usual American fare. Service is friendly, but sometimes a bit harried, as they don't always have enough staff. Small but good wine choices. Prices are in the mid range. My favorite dish is the Sole Rustica. Belissimo. The Calamari appetizer was just OK, and not a good value for the amount served. Also tried the Patagonia Stew, basically a lamb stew that was tasty. The decor is obviously a makeover from a previous restaurant in the building, as it doesn't quite fit. There is a huge bank of serving areas for a buffet that I have never seen in use, despite taking up a large part of the facility. This is a good choice in Cathedral City. More...
Great place, great food, friendly staff
Staff are always great The food is very good with lots of choices The spinach ricotta cannelloni were especiallywonderful
Extremely friendly owners wanting to please. Good mix of German/Austrian food and "European" style Argentinean food which the owner/chef often brings out himself. Tables spaced well so conversation easy. Lots of comfort foods. Large portions. Very reasonable prices.Attentive service. More...
We had a reservation for four and at the last minute, there were five of us. No problem at all. Good seating, great drinks and the food was excellent. The waiter was very personable and then we found out he'd only been working there one month! We'll go there again for sure. More...

Best beef empanada I've ever had. Bread pudding was excellent. The owners and staff were very friendly. Great service and reasonable prices.
Great place with a great diverse menu! We've been there several times and have tried many different dishes and have not been disappointed. The owners Hector and Petra are about the two nicest people you could ever meet. Happy hour menu is fantastic! More...
Fabulous food every time! Chef Hector and his wife, Petra, are so welcoming, warm and personal and when the food hits the table, all conversation stops as everyone is savoring every bite. Parking is very available but finding how to get to it can be a challenge the first time you go. After that, a piece of cake. More...
I have been here 4 times and the food has been good every time. Service is great.
Tried for rouladen a couple of times and tonight it happened and was sooooo worth the wait! Thank you Hector and Petra for another memorable meal.
Plenty of great food at a great price. Glad we found the restaurant.
