About

Established in 2007, Blackawton Blooms produces ‘home grown not flown’ wildlife friendly wildflowers. Jane and Clare, who are never happier than when they’ve got their hands in the soil or arranging a beautiful bouquet, are passionate about wildlife and doing their bit to protect the environment. Blackawton Blooms provides a happy union of all these passions.

Our flowers are wildlife friendly and whilst we are not certified organic we do practice organic growing. Our unique selling point is that we both grow and arrange – from seed to flower to bouquet, we do it all!

Clare and Jane offer a very personal service and are happy to talk to you about your individual wishes and desires for your special occasion, either at our base in Blackawton or the venue.

Bespoke service: We are able to offer a truly bespoke service and grow flowers especially for your event if required. If you book us far enough in advance (most of our seed sowing is done between March – May) we can plant flowers to order.

Our look is the ‘just gathered from the garden’ natural look although as you will see from our gallery we can happily do more formal arrangements too.

We grow our flowers on a site in Blackawton village, which is nestled between the Moor and the sea in the heart of the South Hams, Devon.
We mostly grow beautiful cottage garden and wildflowers with a natural feel and our arrangements range from funky to formal.

Our flowers are grown to provide a sustainable harvest for any occasion such as weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and funerals. ‘Home grown not flown’ is our mantra and we grow our own flowers to avoid using flown-in flowers from other countries where we can.

Our flowers aren’t found in most florists, garages and supermarkets. They are cottage garden, wild and unusual flowers. We are constantly experimenting with growing new blooms to increase our range and delight our customers. They are frequently described, by our customers, as being ‘stunning’, ‘beautiful’ and even memorably ‘the most beautiful flowers I’ve ever had’ - all of that and long-lasting to boot.

Jane and Clare have been working together since 2013 and in that time have provided flowers for countless weddings and parties. They have also arranged flowers for the Crab Festival in Dartmouth, Mitch Tonks Food Festival Dartmouth, several photoshoots and been featured in WedMag.

Our prices on the website are now out of date (we are having our website updated soon). It is difficult to give a price for a wedding package per se as each couple tends to want different flower arrangements. Hopefully the below price list gives you a guide to our prices. But this is just a guide and we can do bigger more elaborate (and therefore more expensive) arrangements just as we can do smaller, simpler flowers.
