Getting there from Charlotte is the worst part, but well worth the aggravation! Hubby had steamed oysters and chilled shrimp, loved both. I had Fried Butterfly Shrimp, delicious! The oysters and flounder are great! The servers are friendly and helpful without being fake. I like the NASCAR nostalgia. The atmosphere reminds you of a seafood restaurant at the beach.

we have been going to Big Daddy's for 20 + years we love the oysters and also the small salt and pepper catfish ..but everything else we have had has been excellent . ..we recently found out you can buy fresh oysters by the bushel or peck to take home and cook for yourself ...not sure if they want that advertised or not but we bought 2 bushel today and thanks to all of you there Mark and Melody Hartsell..PS .. Just want to say, this evening (Saturday, 31 Msrch 2018) was our first time eating at Big Daddy's. It WILL NOT be our last.

We are from Chester, SC, a three hour round trip drive.

Dustin was our waiter. OUTSTANDING WAITER! What else is there to say?

SUPERB dining experience. The food was everything we could ask for. The taste, the texture, the presentation, it was all there.

BIG DADDY'S IS THE PLACE FOR SEA FOOD!

I am a retired U.S. Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer. As such, compliments do not just roll off my lips, or in this case, my fingertips. I am more prone to constructive criticism than I am of compliments. However, in this case, THERE IS NO criticism, constructive or otherwise.

The oysters were so tasty, we took a half bushel of raw oysters, on ice, back to Chester to supply our own miniature Charleston Oyster Roast.

BRAVO ZULU (WELL DONE) BIG DADDY'S; YOU HAVE WON TWO MORE LOYAL CUSTOMERS!

The dining area is dark and well suited for a romantic dinner but some tables are out in the middle of the room. They specialize in oysters which I did not get. I've been going here since the late 70's and have always enjoyed their food. If a big ol' platter of fried seafood is your thing, they've got it. If you like sauteed or grilled seafood, they have it. It was a nice experience. We had a holiday party there. They had a separate room just for us which made conversing more pleasing. The staff was exceptionally pleasant. The food was good, but sadly the best part of my meal was a baked sweet potato. The grilled catfish and salmon that was on my combination platter had a boring flavor and was dry.
