On Thursday, April 11th, 2019 our Samsung dryer started making a horrendous sound! I immediately contacted Best Buy, as we had purchased an extended warranty on it back on 11/2016. The customer service rep assisted in pulling up the plan (as it was not appearing on the website I was looking at) and then proceeded to make our appointment. The only "down" side was that the next available was 1 week away; So, April 18th it was!We received a confirmation appointment call on 4/17 and an email...then a courtesy phone call Thursday morning  around 7:40 am, stating our Technician would be arriving between 8-9 am (Our slot was 8-12 noon) At 8:27 am, Mr. Chris Mueller arrived! He immediately introduced himself, handed me his card and donned his shoe covers. We proceeded upstairs and almost immediately after "hearing" the sound, stated, "I'm pretty sure I know what it is...and, I think I brought the right part!" These words were music to my ears! Once he removed the front panel and exposed the "culprit"...he then explained to me in detail what had happened and "why" the replacement part should not have this same issue!Less than 30 minutes later...he was on his way out the door...dryer working like a charm!Mr. Mueller...we cannot thank you enough! It was our pleasure meeting you this morning and we are so grateful you were able to "diagnose" the issue so timely!Never have I been so ecstatic to have a functioning dryer...looks like Thursday is now "Laundry" day! Ace Casuga and Bryan are my heroes!! I made an appt. at the Irvine store to bring in my computer because it had just shut down while I was working on a file. I couldn't get it to boot back up so I took it where I'd had 4 years of great experiences in the past: customer service, tech expertise, patience with all my questions and short time frames in getting my problem fixed. This time Ace and Bryan quickly determined that my motherboard had died. I knew it'd be useless for me to get it fixed and more practical to buy a new computer. Went over to the computer dept, bought a new laptop and handed it to Ace and Bryan to transfer the data from my old to my new computer. They explained the process and by the next day, Ace had transferred all my data to my new laptop and he and Bryan showed me where my files were, explained how to install my software programs and I left there being one HAPPY CAMPER! Buying a contract with Geek Squad is the best $99 I've ever spent!! More...

I jammed my HP Pro 8620 by not removing the envelopes I was printing before starting to print paper. I took my printer this morning to the Geek Squad at Best Buy on PCH.   I did not know I needed an appointment and that they don't repair printers.  Michael to the rescue. He fitted me in and, with much effort, removed the many pieces of paper that were in the jam.The guy at the door was also helpful, getting my very heavy printer out of my car and then getting it back in. Just had the Geek squad spend the day Saturday doing my entire upstairs family room and bedroom.  The team showed up on time as promised insisting on wearing booties to keep floors clean.  The lead was a guy named Scott Cush who is the Guru well known in the industry with his 2 other guys.  They were so neat in hiding all the wires so knowledge on wear to position everything testing out the sound after installed was amazing brought my speakers to life sounds I have never heard in my life.  The programming of remotes was amazing the guys did things I had no idea were possible.  The Geek Squad prices are more than fair and the quality of work is better than the rest.  Want to thank Fawn who recommended tech support and again thank the best installer team I have ever used Scott Cush and his guys.  Also are using them in few weeks for tv calibration which is all computer set.Thanks again Irvine Branch you guys are the best in the west More...

We had what we thought was a computer virus and brought our computer back to Best Buy where we bought it. Geek Squad Associate Brian took a look at it (I had no appointment) and ran a diagnosis on it right there at the desk. Found the cause and corrected it - turned out it was just a malicious pop-up. He then took the time to eliminate what he called "Bloatware" - memory consuming games we didn't use. Now I am not saying this is the Geek Squad policy, but Brian didn't charge me a cent. I wouldn't count on not being charged if I go again, but was genuinely grateful - not a big computer geek myself and I appreciated his courteous and effective help. More...

I had a great experience with the Geek Squad at Best Buy. We bought a new Samsung TV during the holidays that had and issue. The tech on the phone determined in 5 minutes what the problem was and suggested I go into the Victor store to make arrangements to exchange for a new TV. The Geek Squad brought a new TV out to the house, hooked it all up again with no questions asked. Couldn't be happier. I went on a Monday end of day to receive an estimate repair about cracked front glass of the fragile Galaxy S8+ I have. They had no available hours but agreed to receive the phone with appointment time they can fix it for Wednesday. I got a call on Wednesday before noon that the phone is ready to pick up. Went back Wednesday evening to pick it up. No touch screen glitches, tested for water proof. New frame. Phone is like new. Even the battery is new! Probably it was ok since the phone is 6 months old. Anyway, it made my day. Very polite and professional and patient staff ready to answer all my questions about the phone and the repair. Very satisfied with the service. They are proud that are one of the best GeekSquad in the whole US. Had to pay out of pocket, because I don't have GeekSquad membership, but would definitely trust them in future a problem occurs with a smart phone or tablet. More...

I normally never write reviews but felt compelled in this case. Last summer, my computer crashed and I almost lost all of my data which I needed for work. Javed and Don went above and beyond in trying to help me out. They stayed after hours to work on the repair and managed to fully restore everything and retrieve my data in time for  a critical deadline I had for work. I can not thank them enough for their help! Geeks have never been sexier. And it's very hard to come by men who know how to build things in Los Angeles. **This is a review for installation**I had a pretty horrendous experience with Best Buy, but unfortunately they offer the furniture pieces that are necessary for my living room so I had to purchase from them and do everything in my power not to punch one of the employees in the face. ... After FINALLY making my purchase, they set up an installation with Geek Squad for me (shocked they even knew how to). I was so thrilled to get out of Best Buy that I didn't even think twice about what Geek Squad would be like. I got my furniture piece shipped to me (because it's FREE SHIPPING as opposed to $50 delivery - Huh ) and Geek Squad came to my house to build it about a week later (when they had availability). I asked for them to come between 12 & 4 and they came at 12:45pm! WAHOO!Three men showed up at my door and were very courteous, putting on shoe covers and everything. They (Rocky, Mike and another man whose name escapes me, SORRY) started opening my furniture box when they discovered that my piece was nicked and damaged (FML is all I thought because the LAST THING I wanted to do with deal with Best Buy again). What was amazing was how helpful they all were! They told me that they would note this in my order and then go to the store I bought this piece from and mention this issue with them and see what they could work out. Well IT WORKED because....Rocky and Mike returned the FOLLOWING MORNING bright and EARLY (no they didn't bring me coffee) with a new piece of furniture, ready to GO! These two were DYNAMITE! We had great conversations ranging from geography to scary stuffed animals to tattoos to Japanese and Chinese languages... All while they continued to work without a hitch. Mike even hid all of the wires hanging out of my TV, by putting them in the wall - MAGIC! I am happy to report that my living room looks PHENOMENAL and it's all thanks to Mike and Rocky of Geek Squad. Before they left, they noted that if I had any problems WHAT SO EVER, to give them a call, and they would gladly come back and assist me! This is a review for the Geek Squad team located inside the Best Buy store in the Marina Pacifica Mall in Long Beach.  Had to set it up as a "new business" because I wanted to write a review that's separate from the Best buy store itself.  I've worked with a lot of computer repair people in my life and I've rarely had as good an experience as I had with these guys.  I had a desktop computer that was over-run with viruses and malware, and a laptop with a Wi-Fi problem.  These guys took care of both, even though I had some pretty obscure programs on the desktop.  Brandon is the team leader and he really knows his way around PC's.  And on top of everything else the work they do really is an incredible value.  They get my highest recommendation.  Thanks guys. Geek Squad is located in the Best Buy store at 622 Broadway; I've used this location for my digital camera, which I'd fortunately protected with an extended warranty. At one point the lens stopped extending, so I brought it in and the repair took a couple of weeks. I've had nothing but good experiences at this location and the techs are competent and efficient. Of course, it was a digital camera I was having repaired, not a computer, but I've found the techs at Geek Squad to be consistently excellent; after all, why would you buy an extended warranty if it didn't protect your equipment? This is for Josh U., a Geeksquad [dot] com virtual agent from Arkansas (who I mistakenly referred to as "Josh A." in an attempt to give him honorable mention in another agent's eval). Since the company started in MN, I'm posting here.Yesterday my computer had one of those viruses that hides all of your programs and data, tells you that you've lost all your stuff, tries "restoring" some of it successfully, but finally breaks it to you: the most important stuff on your computer will be lost forever if their data recovery software isn't purchased. Of course, I believed what I was reading and thought the worse....which is why I got in touch with Geeksquad online. They did such a good job on my computer at their location in the Lindbergh/Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta, GA. that reaching out to them for help was a no-brainer.Give thanks that Josh U. was the random agent I got while waiting in the online queue. Without half of the info I relayed above, Josh U. was able to diagnose the issue immediately. He wasn't pushy with rates, letting me do what I thought was best for me price-wise.And he offered to check my relic and do a tune-up on it while he worked on my other, virus-plagued computer - without me even mentioning whether or not it was functioning properly. Yes, I paid for a service that allows me to ask for more than one computer to be worked on...but simultaneously? Josh U. demonstrated that shooting for the minimum wasn't part of his work ethic. He was in "while I'm at it" mode all the way.After getting in contact with two other agents with follow-up questions earlier today, I realized that for the major issue I had, it'd be best to contact the first agent who worked on my computers (No offense to the other two agents. They were just as cool but simply weren't put to the test like Josh U; and the last agent who helped me was the only one I let know about my Yelping, which I rarely do...although I never revealed my Yelp identity to this agent.). I had a great experience with Geek Squad - my laptop was totally messed up so i brought it in.they guys at Geek Squad tried to determine what the problem was but couldn't figure it out, so i left it in their trusting hands to fix. I also bought an external hard drive so they could back up all of my files, since i was concerned that might get destroyed.i was told it would only be three days but it was five days and then i got to pick it up. unfortunately, after bringing it back home (i live in downtown and don't have a car, so it's a 1 hour trip between the metro and bus to get there), there were still issues with the laptop.i called them up and brought it back, two days later everything was running smoothly and has since - so i'm definitely grateful and happy i didn't need a brand new laptop. Last year my laptop was engaging in some "unprotected play" with others and caught a nasty little virus that basically ate it up from the inside out. So like a good computer owner, I waited 6 months thinking I could fix it or have a friend do it for free and after I realized I was royally screwed, I wrapped my green machine up and ran to the Geek Squad in Soho for some help.Edger was a peach in dealing with my frustration and mess that I made. He did his best to explain everything to me and didn't even talk down to me or roll his eyes and my techie incompetence!  For $200 he did his magic and within 4 days, I had my laptop back in my hands and better then ever. He even backed up my entire music and photo collection--no extra cost, well...besides his STRONG recommendation that I backup frequently from now on!My computer still plays with others...just a little more protected these days!
