I would strongly NOT recommend Bobbet and Kurt with Belle Allure Photography. I write this review so that other brides do not have to go through the wedding picture nightmare my husband and I had to. I would put this review on the Belle Allure Facebook page, but the last time I looked, the review area was taken down---around the same time she received another bad review from another bride. With multiple attempts at obtaining our wedding pictures, it took about 10months after the wedding to get all the pictures she edited and at times just stopped communicating with me.
In the beginning, Bobbet’s work seemed amazing, she communicated well, and I liked her pictures from her profile and website. We had a blast shooting our engagement pictures in the beginning of April 2021. There was a significant delay in getting those pictures, but since we didn’t have a rush to use them, I wasn’t too concerned. After a few weeks, it took multiple attempts on my end to even get a couple pictures for our wedding invites. Other than the few I requested for our invites, most of the ENGAGEMENT pictures were received in October 2021, AFTER the wedding.
Fast-forwarding to our wedding day, Bobbet and her husband, Kurt, took a lot of pictures, which was appreciated. Unfortunately, a lot of pictures, my sister had to coordinate, stage, instruct people on, rather than Bobbet. It worked out fine—but thought more direction should have come from the photographers. Some of the pictures that my sister did not help to coordinate, looked awkward as my husband and I were not in the middle, or we weren’t together as a couple in the large group pictures. Overall, there were alot of poses and pictures that weren’t well organized, which you don’t know in the moment, but realize after-which is too late.
My biggest complaint with Bobbet with Belle Allure Photography is the timeframe it took to get our pictures and the lack of communication on her end. Our contract stated approximately 8-10 weeks post wedding we would have our pictures. My wedding was September 18, 2021 and it wasn’t until July of 2022 that I received the edited wedding pictures. This being said, it was about 10 months after our wedding that we received our pictures---at least the ones she edited/sent. I first started to reach out to Bobbet in November 2021, to check in about pictures since I hadn’t really heard about an update. Bobbet had some personal things she needed to deal with, so of course I didn’t push right away—I did understand that sometimes there are uncontrollable events that occur in life, so I waited longer. I did not get the start of our pictures until March of 2022. This was after I reached out numerous times. Sometimes I would get a response and at times I got no response at all. At that time there were a lot of pictures but hundreds of our reception, not much from the ceremony, posed pictures, etc. I do have to say, I was impressed because we did get a lot of pictures of guests dancing that I wasn’t expecting. Also—the pictures of my husband and his groomsmen getting ready were nice.
But you can see how the rest continues to go. I reached out frequently and oftentimes I got no response. Overall, her lack of communication was what disappointed me the most. Throughout the many times I reached out, I became more frustrated because while she had not finished my pictures, she was still posting on the Wisconsin Wedding Page for MORE brides, offering her services.
At one time through the months of waiting, I also suggested she just send me raw photos so I could have at least some wedding pictures or edit some myself as it had been months since the wedding. She said no, as she was finishing them up.
I did eventually get some more pictures trickled in, and a lump sum of them in June 2022 when she let me know she was going on vacation. Then in the middle of July 2022, Bobbet let me know that she had finished our pictures. It was a relief that we finally got more pictures, but only after threatening legal action. I was then disappointed, as in my opinion, quite a few of our pictures were poorly edited, barely looking like us, or were not planned out/staged well.
Overall, I would again, strongly caution any bride from booking with Bobbet or Kurt with Belle Allure Photography. While some pictures were strong and I did enjoy, I was disappointed with the poor communication, professionalism, delay in getting pictures, and lack of follow through with contract/expectations of a wedding photographer as we discussed. The hassle of dealing with Bobbet in trying to get my pictures months after the wedding, just wasn’t worth the quality of pictures we got in the end. Just glad that despite this photography nightmare, the end result was the same---I had a beautiful wedding, married the love of my life, and we had a blast! More...
