We established baby steps nannies in 2017, we decided to create an agency as a mother and daughter duo using both our knowledge of Recruitment: coming from Debbie’s 20+ years in the recruitment industry, and Lou’s personal Nanny experience of looking after children, and dealing with parents and families first hand.

I cannot rate The Hotel Nanny more highly. It is always hard to hire someone you don't know to look after your kids when you are away but with The Hotel Nanny, Angela and her team were just amazing. My husband and I wanted to have a few days for date night dinners while in London and Ruth was very helpful. The process is very simple, you just sign up online and pay a flat fee for the days you wanna reserve which pays the agency than you pay the sitter cash directly for however many hours. They do have a 4 hour minimum which is reasonable. We ended up booking for 3 days and it went flawlessly. We had 2 different sitters and both were very professional, warm and friendly. My son is a very good sleeper, due to the sleep sheriff that I am. So we put him down around 7:30pm and the sitter came to just chill and hangout at the hotel. We bring a monitor so that the sitter can see him sleeping like a dream. Now I can't vouch for how good they are at playing with the kids but they are good at sitting at your home/hotel while the baby sleeps. Let's just say, if you need someone to help or watch your kids this agency is a good bet as they were very reliable and prompt. We had Jazi and Maria, both were very good. Ruth the owner went over and beyond by communicating with me before I left for London and just making sure all the babysitters had our information. I was getting texts and emails to make sure I was able to receive all the information. Ill be using them again in the future. More...

What we love most about our job is the ability to be able to help people, and make people's lives easier. We are fully aware ourselves from both personal and professional experience that life doesn't always go to plan, so being able to provide childcare for someone who urgently needs it and being able to place the perfect nanny with the perfect family gives such a high Level of satisfaction. we are also fully aware of the complex needs of babies/toddlers/children, so we pride ourselves on finding the right nanny to fit the Childs unique personality!
What inspired you to start your own business?
Debbie has owned her own business for the past 10 years, but incorporating my (Lou) nanny skills with recruitment was something we had always talked about. We found we could find the perfect balance between business experience coming from Debbie's Recruitment know how, and personal nanny experience through my own 4 years of nanny. This allowed us to choose the right candidates, keep the families happy, as well as empathising and understanding families who come to you when they need your help.
