Our meal last night was such a treat! The menu was large and varied, featuring traditional Sri Lankan mains and desserts (plus some English dishes). Although the serving staff are young, they can answer questions about the menu and are very attentive. We had driven up from Cardiff for a funeral in St Asaph and rather than drive back in dark had decided to stay for a night. A friend had recommended Glossop on basis of a Guardian review in 2014. Ayubowam featured in the article and it was a good sign that a Sri Lankan restaurant was still going 5 years later. We reviewed the menu online and it was very comprehensive and the dishes true to that which we experienced when we visited Sri Lanka in 2017.The food did not disappoint.Excellent flavour, presentation and staff service.Will definitely divert from course again in the future. I want to write a review but I'm crying at the thought of the time between this and my next time. Bit pricey but get yourself a taste card or a gourmet society card (and a bunch of others) and you get some sweet discounts.

We tried here last night for the first time, we haven't eaten Sri Lankan food before. The lovely three young women serving were all friendly and helpful. There was one in particular that took the time to explain the dishes which helped us to choose and thoroughly enjoy our choices. I loved the atmosphere of the place and the food was tasty and freshly made. We now want to try the buffet that takes place on the last Sunday of the month. The lovely waitress explained it is alternated each time between the ordinary menu and a vegan menu. If you are on Facebook everything is explained on there. Celebrated my sons 18th birthday here with family (party of 11). Brilliant service to say we were a large party. They had decorated the table with balloons and confetti which was a lovely surprise :) We all had different dishes from the menu and all were beautifully presented.
